So far the campus bookstore, thousands of dollars of online orders for villanova final four gear have been sold. This morning marks one week since the brussels terror attacks. Belgian investigators suffered a setback yesterday when authorities released the only suspect accused of murder in the attacks. Police believed he was the man in white seen in this security video from the Brussels Airport. Now the manhunt for that man continues. A former u. S. Ambassador who lost his soninlaw in last weeks attacks questions europes ability to stop terrorism. This attack could have been prevented. Her husband could still be alive. Last week North Carolina lawmakers passed legislation requiring transgender people use the bathroom aligned with the gender on their birth certificate. The new law also prevents cities and counties there passing antidiscrimination rules. Two transgender people, a Law School Professor and Civil Liberties groups filed a federal lawsuit against the legislation yesterday. Until last wednesday, no one needed any laws to tell them which bathroom to use. And there were no problems of any kind. Everyone knew where to go and where not to go. Now trans people like me have to be concerned there may be harassment, consequences. Some companies are already planning to boycott a Convention Next month because of that law. New yorks governor and seattles mayor have now banned nonessential travel by state and city workers to North Carolina. Governor cuomo signed an executive order yesterday for an immediate travel ban and mayor ed murray made the same move on friday. In philadelphia, all city and privately owned businesses that have singlestall bathrooms are required to have genderneutral signs. Philadelphia mayor nutter signed the bill into law last september. Nbc10 was in wilmington yesterday where the former congresswoman and her husband, mark kelly, spoke at a gun violence summit. They announced the new Delaware Coalition for common sense. The goal is to come up with ideas to keep guns out of the wrong hands. Giffords and kelly called on lawmakers from both sides of the political aisle to take a stand. Be bold, be courageous. The best approach to reducing gun violence is keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, like dangerous felons, domestic abusers and people that are dangerous and mentally ill.
