Thats headed towards the schuylkill expressway or 30th street station. No problems or delays there. Eastbound towards 95 we have no problem there also. That drive time between the schuylkill and 95 is just under five minutes. Good to go there. Heres the blue route. Were still in the green. You can see a 16minute trip southbound. This is typically where we see the morning volume or delay. We watch that drive time, from the schuylkill to 95, average speed in the 60s. A new jersey state trooper is hit by a car while trying to help others. This accident happened on 295 last night in gloucester conte. Nbc 10s matt delucia is live at Cooper University medical hospital where that trooper is being treated what can you tell us about how that trooper is doing this morning . Well, were working to get updates throughout the morning, lauren. But i can tell you that fellow troopers have been here throughout the night. In fact just behind me, theres a state Police Cruiser parked outside the emergency entrance. Theres also another trooper vehicle we saw in the other side of the corner here. We can tell you that the stretch of 295 where this crash happened last night, it has reopened. Take a look at video here. This is the scene in the southbound lanes near west deptford. New Jersey State Police say around 8 20 last night, a trooper was responding to a twocar crash and fire. The trooper was standing in the road when another car came by and hit him. Police say the driver of that car did stay at the scene. The troopers injuries are serious. He had head injuries. Officials at this point theyre not saying how serious the situation is but he was air lifted here to Cooper University hospital. As i mentioned, throughout the night, there have been police cars and fellow troopers. Theyve been here outside the hospital waiting for any kind of update. That area of 295 near west deptford had been closed for several hours. Again, it has since reopened. The state police tell us there were other people injured in the crash. No word on their conditions yet. As i said throughout the morning well be working to get more updates on what happened and also the troopers condition here at the hospital. Again, at this point, all theyre telling us is that very serious injuries, head injuries. Of course, as soon as we get an update, well pass that along. Well check back in later. 4 33 and a woman and two Young Children are recovering after being hit by a tow truck while crossing a philadelphia street. Surveillance video shows last nights accident on bee and on takenio streets in kensington. The woman tried to cross the street with an infan in the a stroller and a 4yearold. They stopped in the intersection and were struck by a tow truck. A Good Samaritan describes what happened next. I was screaming. I grabbed the baby and the gentleman jumped in the back with the little boy. He stayed at the hospital. Police say the tow truck driver had the right of way here. The 24yearold woman and two young girls suffered head and neck injuries and they are in stable condition today. No arrests yet in the murder of a woman in north philadelphia. Police say they do know who did it. Investigators say it now appears the victims boyfriend beat her to death with a hammer during an argument. They found the body in an apartment near north 17th and cumberland on sunday. A former main line swim coach and guidance counselor who tried to seduce a student will have to register as a sex offender. Emily feeney was fired last may. She was sentenced to five years probation after she pleaded guilty to criminal charges. Feeney sent hundreds of messages and a topless selfie to the 16yearold boy. She promised him admission to Harvard University in exchange for an intimate relationship. The boy repeatedly rejected feeneys advances. The northbound lanes in here, we typically watch those first because thats where we see a lot of that traffic and delay at least heading into the philadelphia area or if you have to get to 295. Right now were okay. This drive time is doing great from 55 to the walt whitman bridge. If youre headed northbound, its still a fiveminute trip. Heres route 202. We are still in the green, northbound from route 30 to the schuylkill expressway. 11minute trip. Average speeds in the high 50s or really low 60s right there. You can see whether youre headed north or southbound, still no problem. For mass transit if you take septa, patco, new Jersey Transit, d. A. R. T. Or amtrak, youll be on time. He signed an order boosting minimum wage from 7. 25 to 10. 15 an hour for statewide employees. Tax payers in haddonfield, Camden County will vote on a 50 million bond issue for school repairs. If approved, the money would help fix structural damage at the districts four schools. The bond would be in addition to funding that runs the haddonfield schools. Lawyers filed the first classaction lawsuit for the flint, michigan, water crisis. Attorneys filed a lawsuit yesterday on behalf of seven Flint Residents. The suit argues government officials failed to take action over dangerous lead levels in Drinking Water and officials downplayed the contamination. The water problems began after flint switched its water supply in 2014 to save money. The water source came through corroded pipes, causing lead to leach into the water. Were trying to get action and get action quick for these families. The proper attention by the epa, by the state regulatory agencies has not come. Attorneys for the seven plaintiffs believe the lawsuit could eventually include thousands of Flint Residents affected by the water crisis. Surveillance video shows lifesaving technology in action. Yesterday, a state Financial Panel granted dupont the money over the next five years. Delaware actually offered this money to dupont so it could keep the firm instate following the merger. We are pretty much smooth sailing eastbound right there, heading into the center city area, 13minute trip from the blue route to the vine street expressway, average speeds just down there into the 50s. But still doing really well, as you can see. Route 70 in cherry hill, new jersey right around kings highway. No problems there either. The roadways are dry. On route 70, though, watch out for construction headed westbound between spring dale road and west gate drive. Thats scheduled until march 13th around 6 00 a. M. Heres 422. We are still in the green. Parts of lancaster county, some approaching berks county. A lot of this breaks up as it tries to move through. Otherwise, big area of High Pressure to our south. Thats responsible for all this warm air moving in. We do have the southwest wind and thats going to give us those warmer temperatures today and especially as we go into tomorrow. Wilmington could match that, allentown could see a record High Temperature with low 70s, millville around 77 tomorrow. Yes, we are looking at unseasonably warm but nice weather as we go through this week, feeling like spring. Today, much warmer, mix of sun and clouds, temperatures reaching around 70 degrees this afternoon. We like talking about the warm temperatures. Were also talking about dry conditions for this time of the year. So for wednesday, sunny skies, 76 degrees. Then we go into thursday. A couple degrees warmer, 78 degrees and dry. By the time we get to friday, it will be cooler although i wouldnt call that cool for this time of the year. 68 degrees friday. Police still arent sure why she decided to do this on the top of this big rig. Her act went on for two hours until firefighters helped police take her into custody. Wow. Countdown continues to a possible new Jersey Transit rail strike. Rail unions have authorized a strike for early sunned if no deal is reached. Work stoppage would impact more than 100,000 riders, including a lot in our area who use the trenton and hamilton stations. The strike would also affect the Atlantic City line that goes between ac and philadelphia. It would definitely be very dramatic. It would be a Culture Shock for a lot of people. Every day i take the train to and from work in cherry hill. Without the train i cant get there. New Jersey Transit put together a contingent plan that relies heavy on bus service. Currently if youre going to walk outside, were in the 40s, mid to upper 40s right now. 48 degrees Atlantic City and wildwood, 51 now in dover. 47 philadelphia, 41 degrees in allentown, 46 in pottstown. We do have a couple showers moving in that well keep an eye on. Most of the area is dry. If youre in lancaster county, light showers or sprinkles moving through, some approaching berks county. Not a big deal because we will be dry this afternoon but the warm temperatures, thats what were looking forward to. As we go through this morning, by about 8 00 a. M. , temperature around 50 degrees, by noon, mid60s. By 4 00 p. M. , were topping out around 70 degrees, 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. We keep on warming as we go through the next couple days.
