Police in Montgomery County are questioning people about a shooting there. Someone shot a man on cherry and west oak street. He is expected to survive. Police have not arrested anybody at this time. The battle over sand dunes in the jersey shore will be fought inside a courtroom. The controversial project has ruined their views, flooded parts of the beach and created Health Hazards and they dont want the project to proceed. Matt is in camden to walk us through this today. Reporter part of todays meeting in federal court is to discuss the temporary restraining order. The army corps of engineers want na order lifted but margate wants that to remain in place. The dune construction there, that construction was ordered to be shut down at least temporarily last week. City officials said the statemandated project led to drainage issues that have led to ponds of backfilled standing water. Margate says the construction has caused the city irreparable harm. They told the department of engineers, the city project and the engineers to come up with a plan to solve the drainage problems. It was a plan to finish major walkways, to have the army corps pump retention water quickly after the heavy rain and recover the area. But the question is what is next. They are going to be making the trip to camden and federal court to see what happens next. Were live in camden, nbc 10 news. Fooiive things you need to w to get your day started. On the east mariner pipeline, there have been spills when pumping water. They will give customers notice when drilling will restartme. They came to that agreement yesterday. The bans remain in place until the pennsylvania environmental hearing board reviews the settlement. Last month the judge halted the construction after residents in Chester County complained that water leaked into the Delaware County creek. The project was allowed to resume in some locations last week. The Pennsylvania School district owes more than 6 million to thousands of its employees. The city released an audit yesterday showing those employees are owed termination pay. Half of them left the district more than five years ago. They said it is a problem and they are working to fix it. Breaking news from yesterday morning, the arson investigation on clementine street is now in the hands of homicide detectives. A man was found dead in a home that went up in flames in kensington on monday night. Another man jumped out of a second floor window to escape the flames. The county Mosquito Control program will conduct operations right around dusk. Its hoping to reduce breeding of mosquitos in the area of old frost road. The insecticide being sprayed has very low toxicity to humans. This comes as pennsylvania has its first known case of the west nile virus this year. We know the patient is in Montgomery County but no further details so far. The west nile virus has been in most of pennsylvanias counties. The police and Prosecutors Office is investigating a death at the tropicana in new york city. Investigators say a man was found dead in a room on the 37th floor yesterday. A woman was also found in the room with burns to her hair and neck. Authorities are still trying to figure out how the man died, but they say there are no safety concerns for the public. A woman watched as a man killed her husband on their front lawn. This was a longrunning dispute between the two men. Clayton white was charged with the murder. He shot his friend earlier yesterday morning. The District Attorneys Office said police were called to break up the fight just moments earlier. He also had disputes with other neighbors. This morning Philadelphia Police are searching for a bank robber. They say the man you see here gave a demand note to a teller r yesterday afternoon. The teller handed over money and the man walked away. A reward is being offered for information leading to his capture. New this morning from bucks county, Bensalem Police say a drug dealer who taunted them on social media is now in custody. The man shown here is charged with selling acid, marijuana and ecstasy. He made posts on social media Challenging Police to find him. New Jersey State Police say a coupumberland county woman abandoned her son in the woods. The boy had special needs and was found with nothing but his luggage. We knocked on debra whistlers door to get her version of the story. Investigators say she attempted to get the boy into a program. When he wasnt accepted, they say she left him on the side fortunate road near the vis visitors center. People who know whistler said there was no signs of this coming. She a dodored him. Something had to have happened. The boy is now in a temporary home. The jackpot is now at 350 million. Officers were heard telling a gunman to drop his weapon just moments before getting into a shootout. One of the bullets just missed a 15yearold girl watching tv in her home. This all started before 4 00 on monday night on fairhill street. Police identified Jose Gonzalez as the gunman. Gonzalez underwent surgery after Police Officers shot him. The officers were not hurt. The wet weather weve been having lately may be triggering a spike in mushroom poisonings. The new Jersey Poison Center says at least 15 people have gotten sick in the past few weeks from eating wild mushrooms. The victims include children as young as 15 months and adults as old as 75. Eating wild mushrooms could kill you, so experts warn never eat any that pop up in your own lawn.
