Miami warns everyone should get ready now. Florida just issued a hurricane warning, is that right in. A watch. A watch. It was for a portion of the florida east coast. Well show you that specific area in just a minute. You can see the eye of matthew very clearly. I want to emphasize how big this thing is. We are not just talking about the center of the storm or the eye. Too many people get into this it looks like the highest chance of a major impact is well above miami, from about palm beach almost today to daytona beach. Winds are possible in that area. It is also possible they would extend that watch closer at some point. It still has 145 Miles Per Hour winds moving north at 10 Miles Per Hour. It has made land fall. It is about the worst possible track because its going over the least amount of land that would cause it to weaken the least amount. So more bad news there. It will come and graze the eastern tip of cuba and go into the bahamas. Its a category 4. It is likely to weaken just a touch. This area is so small and so much of the circulation is over water. There you can see it. Just this narrow peninsula. Porta prince is right there. There is category 4. Here is category 4. There is no more cig inform cant land for it to run into. The water is incredibly warm. It is some of the warmers waters. It is just east of daytona teach and cape canaveral. For us we have clouds coming in from the northeast, temperatures pretty much holding in the upper 60s today. At least we are talking about dry weather. The orange is the Hurricane Force wind withes. Yellow is Tropical Storm force winds. Have to give you an idea of how warm this is. This took to turn to the north. It is tracked just over the western tip of haiti. It weakens just a touch. The forecast keeps it as a category 4. Major major hurricane as it curves towards florida and then eventually curving more towards the northeast. The whole key is how soon this is going to pick it up and turn it to the northeast. Obviously the more likely it is to effect us. Also, if it does come to the west like this or even to the left of this track it is going to be going over land. So its definitely going to be weakening as it would come up and effect us. This is by saturday and into sunday. Unfortunately its the weekend. We are talking about potential for a lot of rain, some gusty winds, coastal flooding and beach erosion. This is much farther to the left than they were yesterday. Many of them keep the land fall south and north of carolina and many of them just off the east coast. Every mile could make a difference. We have cloudy skies, temperatures in the 60s right now. The winds coming out of the northeast 15 to 20 Miles Per Hour. It is also bringing clouds in from the northeast. There are more clouds to come. As you go through the day today we are talking about temperatures in the upper 60s and touching 70 in a couple of spots. A lot of clouds around tonight as well. We start to clear out. It means we will be getting nicer weather. Wild wood the winds will be picking up and the seas will be picking up in wild wood too as we go later in the week. There is thursday. There is friday. A lot of you are krconcerned abt this. It made land fall on the western tip of haiti and we have not seen the worst of the damage. It might take a couple of days to get in here. It is about 400 miles across. A hurricane is not a point. Even though we start doing the track and talking about a particular spot it is going to effect a very large area. The Hurricane Center is pretty sure of that even if the eye does not cross into florida. 75 Miles Per Hour winds are graert and expected. It is why the watch is issued. The warning would be issued if it was receive nit. Through the florida keys its a Tropical Storm watch. Winds are about 40 Miles Per Hour or greater. It is not going to get to weaken that much. It keeps it as a category 4 getting closer and closer to the florida east coast. Some of the models do bring it far enough west so that it would make land fall across the florida east coast. We watch for this front coming in from the west. This it crosses North Carolina it will weaken. Its a large hurricane. We can anticipate at least some of this. Look at all of the clouds now. The northeast wind has come in. It will keep the temperature close to 70 degrees at most during the day today. High of about 65 degrees. We are beautiful waeather comin. Because the hurricane im not just tracking the line. So Tropical Storm winds graze the coast here friday morning and this cold front picks up the storm and tries to curve it. Even if its here well probably have at least some rain during the day on saturday. This is there it went. It is over the western tip of haiti. The limited amount of weakening this is keeping it past nassau. Dropping to a 2 and then a 1. Hurricane force winds at the jersey shore could cause a lot of problems.
