The new nbc news the wall street journal marist poll shows trump with a fivepoint lead over senator ted cruz. 28 to 23 . Senator marco rubios in third place with 15 followed by former Florida Governor jeb bush with 13 . And republican president ial hopeful donald trump is softening his rhetoric on pope francis. Trump blasted the leader of the Roman Catholic church for suggesting his stance on immigration was not christian. The controversy broke out earlier yesterday when the pontiff told reporters aboard the papal airplane that a person who thinks only about building walls and not bridges is not christi christian. After calling it disgraceful to question his faith, trump reiterated that it wasnt a good thing for the pope to say, but trump said he doesnt Like Fighting with the pope. Even though he believes the media made the pontiffs initial comments sound stronger than they were. I dont Like Fighting with the pope. I dont think this is a fight. I think he said something much softer than was originally reported by the media. I think that he heard one side of the story, which is probably by the mexican government. He didnt see the tremendous strain that, you know, the border is causing us with respect to illegal immigration, with the drugs pouring across the border. While trump appeared to play nice, he did get in a little dig here at the pontiffs expense. Trump said if having a wall is not christian, the popes got an awfully big wall at the vatican. This morning the papal spokesperson say the holy father often talks about building bridges, not walls, and that his remarks werent targeting trump. The New York Daily News is not holding back on trumps attack on the pope. This mornings cover features a red devilish looking pope attached to the headline antichrist. And jeb bush got more Family Support on the campaign trail in spartanburg. Days after his brother, the former president , stumped for his cause, former First Lady Barbara Bush attended one of his Campaign Events. And back now to that nbc news the wall street journal marist poll Shows Hillary clinton maintaining a nearly 30point lead in South Carolina on the democratic side. She has the support of 60 of the palmetto states voters compared to 32 for senator Bernie Sanders. Sanders has closed the gap slightly. Last month he trailed 64 to 27 . Decision 2016 the democratic president ial candidates square off in nevada as Democratic Caucus tomorrow. And last night they spoke to the voters in a town hall meeting on msnbc. Hillary clinton and Bernie Sanders appearing separately in las vegas. They each spent about an hour taking questions. Both criticized donald trump while pushing their own immigration platforms. And both try to appeal to latino voters who make up about 17 of nevadas voting population. Should unite families, not divide families. We should not be sending people back to a country that they can barely remember and a language they may not even be able to speak. You know, i was the first person to call out donald trump. I said enough of this prejudice and paranoia. Well, candidates hope to win in tomorrows nevada caucuses as a springboard to the democratic primary february 27th and super tuesday race on march 1st. The zika virus has been blamed for birth defects in brazil, but some scientists arent so sure that its the real culprit. Brazils Health Minister says hes absolutely sure the mosquito born virus is causing children to be born with abnormally small heads. But one university of michigan researchers says a simple presence of the virus in the babies mothers does not mean the virus caused the birth defect. Proving a direct link could be hard because the virus is so difficult to study. And it is right at freezing for gilbertsville and pottstown warming into the upper 30s this afternoon. But sunshine not going to see it today. The clouds have already started moving in. And behind these clouds some snow showers. Wont reach the shore, likely not reach philadelphia area either, but we could see some scattered very light snow showers into the pocono mountains. This is falling into dry air, so those snowflakes are evaporating before they get to the ground in berks county. The clouds move through mainly dry then clearing out overnight tonight. That sets the stage for a big warmup tomorrow. A beautiful day. Saturday afternoon sunshine clouds will stay to the south and to the north the sunshine will warm us up to 60 degrees on saturday. But those clouds are on the move. And the chance of showers as we go into the Late Afternoon and evening hours cloudy skies at 8 00. Thats rain shower activity moving into Lancaster County. And colder air, snow to the north. We could see some snowflakes early on monday morning, just a chance of some light snow. That computer model is showing it. For today mostly cloudy skies and chilly. Highs in the upper 30s and low 40s. Come tomorrow we will goet down to 35 degrees but rebound nicely. In fact a real spring preview, 60s the High Temperature.
