Girl scouts and the cookies go hand in hand. Tell us why this connection with the girl scouts and where the money goes thats raised from the sales. Sure. So Girl Scouts Cookie Program is celebrating its 99th year this year. Its the largest girlled business in the world and it really was a way for early volunteers to think about ways to raise money for their troops so it does continue today. Its an awesome opportunity for girls to take advantage of the girl scouts brand and this program to earn money for both individual programs as well as troop programs. Lizzie has Great Stories about what shes done with her proceeds. Ill get to lizzie in a second but youre going to celebrate milestones as well and theres high tech ways in which you can get the cookies . Thats right. So this year is the 10th anniversary of our lemonade which is one of the flavors of cookies we have and the second year were offering digital cookies which is a way for our girls who have grown up in the digital age to sell cookies online. But you have to know a girl scout in order to take advantage of that digital program. Well ive got several that live in my neighborhood that come around with the truck and they pull it along. Have you found tracking the money, selling these, do you think it will help you ralater your life if you want to run your own business . Tell us your experience. Absolutely. I think selling Girl Scout Cookies has helped me with talking to people and setting goals and different Business Ethics and keeping track of different money and things. It helps with later projects and stuff and it will help later in life when i get to college. Do you have siblings . I have one brother. Does he eat up the cookies . Has he and your dad behaved themselves with the cookies. Um [ laughter ] when you have brother thats the answer i would expect. Um, well you dont want to throw him under the bus. So this is amazing. This cookie sale here, theres a lot of things i didnt realized what kind of goals do you set for yourself in selling cookies . Two years ago, the girl sc t scouts introduced this opportunity to go to london and paris for ten days and i saw this opportunity and i thought i want to go to this. So it was around cookie time so i thought for selling a certain amount of cookies you get a certain amount of money. So i had two years and made a goal to sell 1,000 boxes. Are you getting close to your goal . I went on the trip last year. You already went this past summer. Wow how awesome is that. Id like to get me a trip to london and paris. Wow thats fantastic.
