Weve had mild weather, sunshine, but not today. Some onandoff rain, we had heavy rain in parts of the area overnight. We have another round of steadier rain, somewhat heavier coming tonight and a chilly but dry weekend ahead. You can see underthe skyline picture the tops of the buildings cut off by those low clouds. Its still raining in philadelphia but its 61 degrees. Not all that cold. Winds east northeast at 12 miles an hour as humidity, of course, is pretty high. Were only 52 degrees in reading. 50 in the poconos so it is chilly in some parts of the area. 56 in west chester but 63 in millville and thats the mildest temperature on the map right now. We are five to eight degrees warmer than at this time yesterday in much of the area, despite the rain, despite the wind off the ocean. And you can see on the radar in the past hour the its getting much more patchy than it was earlier were you had the steady rain which is what we have right now in burlington and ocean counties. Its not that heavy. Were not seeing yellows and reds in there but we did have really heavy rain in parts of delaware and south jersey this morning. Not far from smyrna. Radar estimate two and a half inches of rain both east and west of smyrna. Also across parts of salem and cumberland counties in new jersey close to two inches of rain. But much, much less in northern Newcastle County. So lets see what will happen through the afternoon. We have the patchy light rain but this evening another area is develops and we could be seeing locally heavy rain in the Lehigh Valley and the poconos. Its cloudy by tomorrow morning. It will take a while for the sun to be coming out. It will be a decent day for veterans day. Then on thursday well watch the cold front coming in from the west bringing some showers it with, not the kind of steady rain that weve had today. And then the drier air comes in behind that. Were still a Tropical Storm not that far off the United States coast but its moving to the northeast at 20. That is the important part, not the fact that its close to hurricane strength. Its moving away from the u. S. For today, periods of rain, breezy, high temperatures in the low 60s, some places north and west dont get out of the 50s and the sevenday forecast pretty nice for veterans day, start off with clouds and sunshine later. Heres showers coming through on thursday, not an all day rain and then it starts getting colder friday, a chilly weekend but it looks like it will stay dry. Thank you, glenn.
