We are also learning the pilot was the only one in the aircraft when it came crashing down. This was a man from New Hampshire who made the trip between New Hampshire and philadelphia often, almost weekly, and tragically he died. We want to show you the video of the search from last night into the other night hours. You had numerous nypd officials out here, Fire Department as well and they were looking in the ocean for plane debris, also on the sand. The search for any more plane debris continued this morning. This is happening near a residential neighborhood in queens. The new York City PoliceDepartment SpecialOperations Unit recovered parts of the plane last night, part of a tail, the fuselage, also a wheel. They also found the body of a man and Police Believe the victim is james mcgee from rye, New Hampshire. About 7 30 p. M. The small plane en route from philadelphia to New Hampshire fell from the sky and people around here heard it. Take a listen. It sounded like something in distress. Sort of a rumbling. We didnt know what it was and there was all kind of rumors that it was a meteor or something. Reporter and were also learning the tail number of that plane, n622bt. Again, a twoseater registered to james mcgee. He made that trip very often, almost weekly, between New Hampshire and philadelphia. Were waiting to get more information about him, how old he was and also how long was he a pilot . Police in Montgomery County are investigating after two people were shot and killed in an Apartment Building overnight. Nbc 10s Monique Braxton is live in norristown. Monique, youve been reaching out to police and the District Attorneys office. What have you learned . Reporter just moments ago, vai, the District Attorney elect kevin seal arrived on the scene and hell talk about what he can share about this criminal investigation. I understand you have someone in custody . Its still a preliminary investigation but we do have somebody in custody at this point. Our investigation is continue, though. Reporter what appearsing to the motive, mr. Steele . Well, we wont get into that aspect at this point. Were working on an affidavit of probable cause and well try to lay those things out at that time. We understand the two victims, according to your office, are 26 years old. One is from eagleville, someone from philadelphia. What were they doing in norristown . I dont have that information at this point. We have two victims, 26 years old. Autopsies are being conducted as we speak. Reporter and both had multiple gunshots . They both had apparent multiple gunshots at this point and so those autopsies are continuing so i cant give you numbers or anything at this point. Thats part of the investigation thats continuing. Well, for the residents who live here, no need to worry, you think you have a suspect . We have an individual in custody at this point so we dont believe theres any danger to the people here in the community and in the apartment at this point. Reporter okay, thank you. Appreciate it. Lets listen to the two witnesses who describe what they heard overnight. I was woken up, which i thought was somebody knocking on my door, it turned out to be gunshots. It happened twice and both times i looked out the door i didnt see anything. I laid back down, then i heard a womans voice running down the hallway saying oh, my god. Oh, my god. Oh, my god. We heard a few shots. Im thinking it was something banging loud. Next thing i know the ambulance pulls up. Five more shots then the ambulance pulls up. Reporter weve also learned from witnesses there was a car on the scene. Police found keys to the car inside one of the apartments. They did find the car here, that car has been towed. Sources also tell us this may be some sort of a love triangle and they also say a child was inside the apartment. One man was found in the hallway, another inside an apartment here on the second floor. Weve also learned that autopsies are being performed on both people today. Jurors are continuing their deliberations in the federal fraud trial of chaka fattah, jr. Nbc 10 was there as fattah, jr. , arrived at the federal courthouse yesterday. It was the first full day of the deliberations for the jury. Prosecutors claim fattah, jr. , lied to banks to get Business Loan which is supported his extravagant lifestyle. They say he lied on his taxes to cover his tracks. The defendant is the son of congressman chaka fattah, who is married to nbc 10 news anchor reneechenault fattah. The philadelphia woman convicted of imprisoning several mentally deficient adults in her basement is in court. Linda weston pleaded guilty to murder and other charge. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to not seek the death penalty. In 2011, westons landlord found four mentally disabled adults held captive in the dingy boiler room of her home in the citys tacony section. Prosecutors say she kidnapped victims and chained them up in order to collect their disability payments. Two of the women later died. A tenyearold boy is recovering after he and his father were shot at with paintballs. Police say someone in a black suv started shooting at the father and the two young boys around 3 30 this morning near a 7eleven in the juniata neighborhood. I was scared. The kid was bleeding. The pinball hit him in the eye. We thought select lost the eye so we called 911 and immediately they came. They took them down to the hospital. Police say the people in the suv drove away. Julian hernandez was five years old when he was abducted near birmingham, alabama, in 2002. Heres a picture of him when it happened. Police have been searching for him ever since. Police stay man in his 20s used a hunting knife to stab two people as classes started yesterday morning. A construction worker remodeling a waiting room in the building haer heard the commotion. Gliniewicz, known as g. I. Joe, are reportedly under investigation is another shock for residents. My gosh, g. I. Joe went from a hero to a criminal. Reporter two months ago, gliniewicz had a heros funeral. He ran the explorers program, teaching kids about law enforcement. Now investigators say for seven years he stole from it. Thousands of dollars were used by gliniewicz for personal purchases, travel expenses, mortgage payments, personal gym memberships. Reporter investigators released startling new details about how gliniewicz faked his own crime scene carefully placing his pepper spray, baton, and glasses to try to disguise his suicide as a death in the line of duty. They say gliniewicz, who had experience staging crime scenes for training, even fired a shot into his cell phone and bulletproof vest before the fatal shot into his upper torso. Authoritiesreleased Text Messages that they say show gliniewicz feared his crimes would be uncovered by the village administrator. Welcome to you both. Alicia, lets start with you. Tell us about how you survived something that almost always takes peoples lives. How did this happen . I got diagnosed when i was 23. It was extremely rough because id always been an athlete, always had eaten healthy except for when youre a kid your family, they you only eat whatever they get for you. So it was shocking. I had to be on top of my game always. I had to always stay one step ahead of the cancer, be in close contact with the pancreatic cancer connection so they could give me the right guidance to where i needed to get treatment at, what kind of treatment i needed and also do a ton of research on my own to find the right doctors across the country. Youre an athlete so youre tough, that makes you tough, but did you learn something about yourself the process . Oh, no, cancer makes you tough. The cancer makes you tough. Being an athlete might make you a little tough. Fighting cancer changes your entire life. Its definitely helped me grow into who i am now. My whole perceptions buts changed and over eight years ive realized that theres pretty much nothing i cant probably conquer. Good for you. Bruce, tell us about the event on saturday. Saturday is our sclent starts at 6 30 a. M. At the fair mount park at Memorial Hall. Opening ceremonies begin at 8 00 a. M. And well rock and roll. How much money to do you expect to raise and how many people are you expecting to be there . Tell us what happens with the money . So were hoping for a million dollar, of course, but well probably raise around 700,000. Right now were about 560,000 that weve gotten so far. Were hoping 4,000 to 5,000 people show up and where the money goes, it mostly goes to research, we have some great doctors in this area, especially at Jefferson University hospital who just got a grant. So we have a lot of money that goes towards research aspect. And everybody expects to see a sea of purple saturday morning. Yes. Absolutely. Wear purple. After a couple of days and nothing but sunshine we had a lot of clouds cover, a few showers and some fog this morning. Not a surprise but were cooled by the clouds a little bit today so we got up to 80 yeed. We wont get there today but we could get there tomorrow and the record the possibly going to be broken or tied and some showers for at least some part of the area over some of the weekend. You can see how cloudy it is right now around philadelphia area. We have a couple little peeks of sunshine, thats about it. 69 degrees, though. Its incredibly warm despite the cloud cover. The average high is 60. Were already just about 70. Wind southsouthwest at six miles an hour. We here in the mid60s across a good bit of the area, west chester 65, mount holly 66. 70 degrees in glassboro. Thats incredible considering the time of year and all the clouds that have been around. A few showers in south jersey right now. A lot of clouds cover in southeastern pennsylvania but no showers on the radar. Most of the afternoon will be dry for much of the area, the exception, parts of delaware and south jersey. We have moisture back to the west that may be affecting us tomorrow night but as we go through the afternoon you see these clouds, temperatures getting into the 70s and at least parts of the area and then later on tonight it will be a fog issue. By tomorrow morning i expect dense fog probably more widespread than what we saw this morning. Not as wet as this morning but foggier and then during the day tomorrow the clouds start to break up. Temperatures skyrocket as a result and if you get enough sunshine, temperatures could get up to 70 degrees in philadelphia. Then a front comes through and you can see some showers on friday evening and then saturday morning the best chance is down to the south as the front stalls. Now for the eagles in dallas, theyre going to be seeing dry conditions and its going to be on the chilly side. But, still, thats not bad for football. For the rest of the day were going to be seeing cloudy skies, not as warm as yesterday, temperatures into the 70s in most of the area with a few showers in delaware and south jersey. And the sevenday forecast after the early fog tomorrow more sunshine, near record warmth and then a couple showers friday evening. Now to an update on our top story, a deadly double shooting in Montgomery County. We just learned in the past hour that police have one person in custody. The assistant District Attorney did not say whether any charges have been filed yet and he said a motive is still being investigated but two men were shot and killed inside the park Place Apartments in norristown. This happened late last night. Police spent more than 11 hours at the scene looking for clues in the shooting. Lets turn glenn hurricane schwartz with a look at the afternoon forecast.
