It was a busy morning for philadelphias Wynnefield Heights neighborhood. The driver of the pickup truck claimed a car coming in the opposite direction crossed into his lane. To avoid the car, he veered off the road and crashed into the trees and a transformer knocking down utility poles, but sources say that investigators are looking into speed and alcohol as factors. The driver of the truck went to a nearby hospital and is expected to be okay. In center city, philadelphia, police are investigating a Chain Reaction crash involving seven cars. Three drivers collided and they crashed into four parked cars. One of the cars ended up on the sidewalk. No one was hurt. Lets head down the shore now for a live look at the beaches in cape may. Right now woodvine is at 79 degrees and in the Atlantic City area its 78 degrees and while its up to 78 and it is 82 in northfield. So a warm, sunny day today. Temperatures will be near 90 degrees this afternoon and we may make it into the 90s today and 84 at 1 00. By 4 00, 89 degrees and the temperatures will start to cool down into the middle 80s by 7 00 this evening. If we hit 90 today that will set the stage for a heat wave. Marchers have been making their way up columbus boulevard to pens landing and thats where you see them right now. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf addressed the workers before the start of the parade. On labor day we celebrate the people, everybody, ordinary americans and ordinary pennsylvanians who made this country what it is. A lawyer who was on the staff of new York Governor Andrew Cuomo was shot before the west indian day parade in brooklyn. Carry gabay was shot in the head and in critical condition. Cody was looking for possible intruders at a School Last Week in redding when he fell 15 to 20 feet from a catwalk. This morning an ocean county woman was charged with animal cruelty after dogs were found living in deplorable conditions. Some of the dogs were caked in their own waist and hiding in the walls. Volunteers spent eight hours removing the pets from the house. The woman was fined nearly 2,000 and has been barred from owning any animals. Talk about a bittersweet reality check. A crash involving a cab driver in center city claims the lives of two people who were in town to see the made in america concert. This morning we are learning new details about the deadly collision. The crash happened right in the heart of Center City Philadelphia at a time when few people were on the road because of the holiday. Nbc 10s jesse gary has been on scene since early this morning and talking to investigators. Jesse, fill us in. Rosemary, part of that evidence is a blood sample taken from a cab driver shortly after the accident. Police say its standard procedure any time there is a fatal accident. Also investigators are checking Traffic Cameras in the area of broad and arch street to see if one recorded the accident and the aftermath. Police say two 25yearolds from the phoenix area were crossing eastbound. A taxi cab driver was headed north on broad, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman rushed to Hahnemann Hospital right around the corner, but she died there. The cab driver complaining from chest pains was also rushed to hahnemann. Investigators say the driver did not speed off from the scene. The good thing here is he didnt leave the scene. So we have a lot more than we would have for all of those that do leave. He did the right thing. He didnt make an apparent crime by not leaving the scene. He stayed there. Police told the heavily damaged cab so they can check it for more evidence. Investigators say the speed limit at the accident site is 25 Miles Per Hour and witnesses told police it appeared the taxi was going about 50 Miles Per Hour. A. I. D. Officers stressed to us that theyre still working the case and still doing their investigation and they do not know exactly how fast the cab was going, but that will be part of the complete investigation into this accident. Reporter breaking his silence, minnesota dentist Walter Palmer who faced worldwide backlash after killing cecil the lion on a hunting expedition in africa now says he did not intentionally kill the beloved lion. Telling the Associated Press and the Minneapolis Star Tribune in an exclusive joint interview, if i had known this lion had a name and was important to the country or a study obviously, i wouldnt have taken it. Nobody in our Hunting Party knew before or after the name of this lion. After palmers identity was revealed in late july, his dental office and home became protest sites. Two made in america concert goers are dead after police say they were hit by a taxi cab driver this morning. According to police, two 25yearolds from the phoenixville area were crossing broad at arch street around 4 40 this morning. A rosemont taxi cab driver was on the scene. The cab driver complained of chest pains and he did stay at the scene and was taken to Hahnemann Hospital.
