Today, theyll look slightly different come election day. You wont see this secure cartridge or the printout that logs your vote. Each machine is tagged, and its locked. It will be opened at the polls. There is no hacking into 4,000 standalone voting machines. Theyre not connected to the internet. Reporter he says there have been cases of voter fraud but after the votes have been cast, and he added, by people who have been able to access the numbers. Theyve indicted people. Theyve prosecuted people. There have been guilty pleas in almost every cases. Reporter he says once a voter hits the button, the vote is recorded more than once. The final votes are counted up about three weeks postelection. Even though your vote is stored, counted, and printed out, all votes along with it are counted again. As for comments about votestealing, schmidt wont address them. He says he can only speak about the sanctity of the election process in the city of philadelphia. Any time a vote is cast on a voting machine in philadelphia, it cant be taken away. Reporter when it comes to numbers, how many people use this voting machine . Two counters on the back. One that shows the number of votes cast for the life of the machine and another that shows the votes cast just for this election. In north philadelphia, deanna durante, nbc 10 news. Nbc 10 investigators are also taking a look at voter fraud. George spencer spoke with a man who voted illegally in at least four elections. Hes not the only one we found. According to a new Quinnipiac University pillow, clinton now leads trump in the state, 4741 . Thats a threepoint bump for clinton compared to two weeks ago. Shes also leading in colorado and florida. Clinton is off the campaign trail as she prepares for the next debate, as her Campaign Continues to deal with the fallout from her hacked emails. Some of the new emails which have not been authenticated by nbc news allegedly capture what was said during clintons 2013 speech to goldman sachs. It claims to show the democratic nominee admitted taking action against wall street only for political purposes. A spokesperson for the Clinton Campaign says the Trump Campaign is cheering on russias hacking into u. S. Emails. Tomorrow, former president bill clinton will be campaigning in our area, set to speak at Montgomery Community college in bluebell at 3 00. If you live in new jersey, you have just one day left to register to vote. Tomorrow is the deadline in the garden state. Besides voting for president , jersey voters will decide on casino expansion and what the gas tax money should be used for. The registration deadline has already passed in pennsylvania and delaware. In just days, the candidates will face off in one last debate. The third and final president ial debate is set for wednesday night at 9 00 at the university of nevada las vegas. Temperatures just going up and up in our area, expected to set a record for this time of year. Nbc 10 meteorologist Sheena Parveen with a look at how warm we can expect it to get. Tomorrow and even wednesday expecting record highs across the area. Today we got into the low 80s. Now temperatures slowly dropping. Tonight will still be cool, just a little bit milder than previous nights. 79 in philadelphia and dover. Trenton, 78. Were still fairly warm across the rest of the area, mostly the mid70s right now. Look at the warm air down to our south. 80s, even 90s down in texas. Were still tapping into a lot of this warm air. For the next two days, well still be in the 80s. Big changes, though, as we go into the weekend. Were not going to get there just yet. Well stay fairly warm until then. Tonight, temperatures will be dropping, a little bit milder. When you start your day tomorrow by 9 00 a. M. , mostly were take a looking at the mid60s, warming up quickly through the day tomorrow. Look at these possible record highs. The record in philadelphia, 81. The forecast is 84. Many areas could get close or even break their records over the next couple of days. All new at 6 00, this video has some neighbors really concerned about what that is lurking nearby. Some are worried the big cat caught on camera in new jersey could be a Mountain Lion. Nbc 10s cydney long is live from hammenton with the details. Reporter jim, the owner here of this winery took the cellphone video youre about to see. He says hes certain its a Mountain Lion in between the vineyard and the Christmas Trees they grow in the distance, that video taken in late september. Once a friend saw it posted to facebook, thats when police and animal control got involved. Take a look at this grainy black and white photo of a large cat snapped from a hunters camera in the woods where winslow and hammenton meet. Then theres a paw print and cellphone video. I dont really know what a Mountain Lion looks like but it looked almost like a bobcat. Thats what scares me. Reporter he didnt know the apparent Mountain Lion sightings were so close to home in the neighborhood where he runs. Now im even more scared, to be honest with you. Reporter theyre keeping a close eye as their children returned home from school today. Winslow police are not certain the photos are that of a Mountain Lion. But they are warning residents to be cautious. Basically we cant confirm or deny that it is a Mountain Lion. Reporter the county got a half dozen calls from concerned residents on monday but no actual sightings. People kind of panic when they see Mountain Lion. Reporter animal patrol stepped up patrols in the area. We dont need an allout, you know, Mountain Lion hunt. We dont even know if this thing exists or if its, you know, bigfoot. Reporter for now, he plans to keep his guard up. You dont know, youve got little kids, they could think its a squirrel or something in the trees and something could come out. Philadelphia police are trying to find out who killed a father in his own driveway. Police say johnny questiozada w fired on by two men at point blank range. Before he died he was able to tell police that the two men who shot him took his handgun. His sisterinlaw tell of us the victims wife heard the shots from inside the home. He calls and tells them, come home, i heard some shots, he said it was me, im on the ground, come bring me water, im thirsty. Detectives are now checking out Surveillance Video from homes and businesses on the street. A 20,000 reward is being offered in the case. South Jersey University has a warning for its students this evening. Rowan University Investigating after a student reported being sexually assaulted on campus on friday morning inside the new holly point dorms after a late night of partying offcampus. The student claims someone she vaguely knew offered to walk her home from that party. She says she blacked out and woke up to being sexually assaulted. Rowan students are thankful the school is getting the word out. It was kind of shocking to me to see that. I think its just nice that they at least inform everyone on campus, give them the information they need so women and everyone on campus can stay safe. So far no one has been charged. Rowan University Police want anyone with information to call them. A defendant in the bridgegate trial took the stand today and testified that governor christie wasnt aware of the plot. Bill baroni told jurors he believed the lane closures were being done for a traffic study and that he and the governor had nothing to do with the scheme. The former Port Authority executive says the plan was created and executed by david wildstein. Wildstein testified last week that baroni helped intentionally just down several lanes of the George Washington bridge back in 2013 as payback against the ft. Lee mayor. Christie denies involvement. Some Good Samaritans worked with police to save a live after a crash on an an Atlantic County roadway. New video catches their frantic efforts to rescue a woman trapped underneath her car. Nbc 10s Ted Greenberg shows us how it all unfolded. I was freaking out. I was like, oh, my god. Reporter she says people on the roadside flagged her down, frantically in need of her muscle, to rescue a woman trapped under this car. So i just parked real quick and i started running towards the car. They were telling me, help to lift. Reporter Hamilton Township police say she was one of seven Good Samaritans who helped lift the car off the woman, who had just crashed into a tree along a curvy section of weymouth road sunday afternoon. She was thrown out of the car when it flipped over. It then landed on top of her. I was just trying to lift the car, as strong as i could, so she could come out. Reporter a Police Dashboard camera captured the frantic scene. The group raised the car enough so the sergeants could pull the woman out from underneath. I was shaking, it was so super heavy. Can you imagine, it could have been myself, it could have been anybody else. I just wanted to help, thats all. Reporter the victim suffered serious injuries in the crash. But police say she is expected to recover. Shes alive, i dont know how. A miracle or something. Reporter teamwork by strangers and police, who saved a life by pooling their strength. Ted greenberg, nbc 10 news. Right now a meeting is being held on philadelphias new initiative to end youth smoking. They want reaction from the public. That hearing started about a half hour ago at the Municipal Services building. Last week, the mayor announced tougher rules against retailers who sell tobacco products. The city wants to hike the fee to businesses who sell tobacco from 50 to 300. That money would go to hiring more inspectors to crack down on Youth Tobacco sales. We didnt have any record high temperatures at least for the philadelphia area today. But we were around 80 degrees. The record warmth is going to keep on coming. This is a live look at rehoboth beach, beautiful conditions as the sun sets. Many of our south jersey neighborhoods already down to the low 70s. Philadelphia coming in still around 80 degrees. Now, if youre in turnersville, theyre still seeing temperatures around 80 degrees. Piney hollow, 74. Mt. Laurel, still 80 degrees right now. 78, pemberton. Florence coming in at 77 degrees. Over the next couple of days, well be in the mid80s. And those will be some record highs for part of the area. Locally, were nice and dry. Were going to stay this way until the end of the week. Big area of High Pressure will keep us dry. Its also whats responsible for all that warm air moving in. So we are looking to set some records over the next couple of days. The forecast high for philadelphia tuesday and wednesday is 84 degrees. The record high below that. So i think we will be hitting some record highs across the area. Thursday could be a close call, 78, record high 79. Thursday will be the transition day when we start to see more clouds and showers. Until then were going to be nice and dry and unseasonably warm. The normal high this time of the year is 66 degrees. Were going to be around 82 in allentown. New jersey, 83. Robbinsville, egg harbor city, 81. In dover tomorrow, expect temperatures in the low 80s. Tomorrow, a few more clouds by wednesday, still dry in the afternoon. Still looking at the mid80s. More clouds move in thursday. By thursday morning, so far we could be looking at some showers for the morning commute but temperatures will be a little bit cooler, around the upper 70s. For your thursday, 78 degrees after we hit those mid80s. Rain chance thursday. Friday morning, 68 for the high on friday. Friday, we really start to cool down more going into the weekend. Take a look at saturday and sunday, only around 60 degrees for the high temperature. We go into next week, and were really just kind of staying in the 60s, mid to low 60s.
