But we sent storm ranger out to check out these showers, and some of them are so tiny, that the conventional radars cant even see them. But thats a tight little intense shower just south of buckingham. Bridge valley in bucks county. Look at that. Near swamp road to forrest grove road. This shower, undetected, by the stationary radar, because theyre too far away, and the shower is so tiny. Thats why we sent storm ranger close to the storms. Reporter well, we just talked to the Police Commissioner who gave us an update on the situation. A hostage situation its over right now. Two people are in the hospital now. Were told they have nonlifethreatening injuries. This is the video we shot from sky force 10. The hostage situation involved four children. Police are responding to a call they tell us about a woman who had a gunshot wound when they went into the house. A man shot at them. And thats what started the hostage situation. Again, children were in the home. Then were told that a mother was in the house, the mother of the child was in the house. The man was in the basement, barricaded in the basement. The mother was talking to police. And allowed them to come in when she knew the coast was clear to arrest the man without incident. Again, two people are shot. Were told they have nonlifethreatening injuries. None of the children were hurt. No officers were hurt. A very tense situation for about almost two hours now. But the situation is over. Beaches at the jersey shore were packed. A lot of businesses have high hopes theyll rebound this weekend after hermine threatened the coast last weekend. Reporter well, there has been no shortage of beachgoers on this hot, postlabor day friday. And many Shore Merchants are hoping that this late summer heat wave will drive folks back to the beach after last weekends bust. Barbara hunt and her family are in North Wildwood a week late after the threat of hermine caused them to change their Labor Day Weekend plans. With the baby, we figured the sand would be whipping so it wouldnt be a very good thing. We decided to come this weekend. Reporter now theyre here for a wave of late summer heat along with many others. But Sarah Russell says not too many. Better to come after labor day. Still nice weather. No crowds. Everythings cheaper. Reporter the matador ocean front resort is sold out after getting hit with guests canceling or leaving early last weekend. It hurt a lot of businesses on the island. Which just makes these next few weekends that much more important for us. Reporter in beach haven, folks hitting the sand found less of it, and tough terrain in spots. Theres a huge drop to step down onto the beach to take a walk. Reporter waves fueled by hermine washed away a lot of the sand last weekend. The erosion coming soon after a major beach protection and replenishment project here. It was a lot wider obviously. There was more graduation in the sand versus now its a significant dropoff. Reporter jersey shore communities have also lost a lot of their lifeguards this late in the season. Prompting concerns about larger than normal crowds this weekend. It makes things a lot easier, makes them more safe. Reporter lifeguards will be stationed at just eight beaches this weekend through september 18th. After that, none will be guarded. Thats a heavy shower right over marsville. And we can show you the streets, too. Where that shower is. And its moving toward trenton. The weekend, well, part steamy, and then were going to get some relief. 96 degrees tomorrow. Close to a record. And then we drop, not only the temperature, but the humidity. So it drops about ten degrees everywhere, except at the jersey shore. Weve got a sea breeze keeping things cooler on saturday and a land breeze keeping things warmer on sunday.
