So we will be watching very, very carefully. Do you even know what to expect with donald trump . No. It seems like its the unexpected is expected with him. Reporter some local delegates will take their seats at the q with some insider information. They got a glimpse of the speech from Vice President ial nominee mike pence during a stop to see pennsylvania delegates. Youll hear tonight our republican nominee will lay out a vision for america. Hell lay out the choice. Hell lay out the stakes in this election. Reporter the theme for tonight is make america one again. Delegates told nbc 10 they hope to hear about the economy, national security, and unity. It was certainly an interesting primary over the last year and kind of bringing those points into the speech tonight to talk about the unity and show gratitude through the process. Everybody in the building all started in different places probably a year ago and now were here together for donald trump and mike pence. Reporter a nominee who has run an Unconventional Campaign getting ready to cap off the rnc. They will surprise us, im sure. Reporter thats the one thing folks are counting on, that there will be some sort of surprise. We know donald trump has a speech written, but what we dont know is whether he will stick to it. He has had speeches written other times and just goes off the cuff, starts to ad lib for sections of it. So there may be more to it. This is not a free wheeling rally. This is the convention and the acceptance speech, so perhaps hell stick to that script a little bit more. But its his convention so who knows. Keep reminding ourselves of that. Hes donald trump. The talk of the day also about senator cruzs speech from last night and how he didnt endorse donald trump. He was booed off the stage last night. Well, today cruz defended himself and said he would not commit to voting for trump into september. Im doing what millions of americans are doing. Im watching. Im listening, and as i told you last night, the standard that i intend to apply is which candidate i trust to defend our freedom and be faithful to the constitution. I can tell you im not voting for hillary. Cruz said he told trump three days before the speech that he wouldnt endorse him and the Trump Campaign did acknowledge they saw the speech and he was invited to continue to come out here as he did last night. Now, how important is pennsylvania in november . You can tell its a key battleground state by which candidates and which individuals in the party, big names, went to those delegation breakfasts from donald trump jr. To Vice President ial nominee mike pence to the pennsylvania delegation. The drama has been building each and every night. All eyes on tonights convention to see what the finale will enta entail. To breaking news, a woman was severely beaten and found dead in her bedroom. Police went to her home after a report of a missing person. They found her at the home on north percy street. Police did not find a weapon, and so far no arrests. To a developing story out of florida, passengers on an American Airlines plane from West Palm Beach to philly had to evacuate. This happened two hours ago. There was a possible fuel leak. Passengers used slides to get off that plane. More than a dozen people went to the hospital with burning eyes, itchy skin and a hard time breathing. Thousands of people will soon travel to philadelphia for the Democratic National convention. Many of those will be protesters looking to get their message out. There are marches planned that could affect your travel plans. Deanna durante is joining us live from city hall. The countdown to the dnc is on. Reporter the city says right now its limiting permanent closures to the stadium areas but says due to protests planned in center city, some rolling closures may be possible. Were not fighting for one individual cause we think is important. Were not even necessarily fighting for bernie sanders. Were fighting for clean water, for access to quality education, access to Quality Health care. Reporter and theyre taking the fight to the streets literally. How is a march going to be disruptive . Billy taylor says his group plans nightly rallies at fdr park and hes planning on bringing thousands to broad street for a sunday night march. Didnt think about that. Reporter neil warren figured his biggest battle would be delegates and traffic from the convention, not trafficstopping protests. Now hes thinking even septa is going to be crowded. Its going to be rough trying to get in the city every day. Whether youre taking the bus or just riding. And if you can get a spot. Reporter many figured they would be untouched by the dnc but the protesters are looking to grab some attention. People have to go to work, have to go to school, people have other things to do. I mean, yeah, if they want to protest, go protest. Everybodys voice should be heard. Reporter for security reasons streets will be closed around the Wells Fargo Center and some ramps to 95 will be closed starting friday night and they wont reopen until next friday afternoon. The city says the convention will bring the same amount of visitors to the city as the annual Army Navy Game but the numbers could easily grow. Youre talking possibly over a quarter million. Reporter now, the city is not talking about those numbers just yet. They do say that there is some good news. Some of the construction cones you see throughout the city could be removed. Penndot says construction work will stop during the duration of the convention so traffic can move more smoothly. In less than two hours a light show will start at 30th street station to welcome visitors. Red, white, and blue lights will brighten up the facade of the train station and that will last ten days. More 60 elected officials will speak at the dnc before Hillary Clinton takes the stage one week from tonight. There are several local speakers, including philadelphia mayor jim kenney. Hillary clintons camp is already planning a postdnc event. Clinton will hold a rally for the public on Independence Mall friday. Many people are heading to the shore this weekend. A prolonged heat wave, and with the humidity its going to feel anywhere from 100 to 105 degrees. This is dangerous heat. You want to avoid several hours outside. You want to stay hydrated. Stay in the shade and never leave children or animals in the car. Look as we go through friday. Temperatures mid90s. More humidity than today. Feeling around 100 degrees. Saturday and sunday upper 90s, feeling around 105. That is going to last into the beginning of next week. But we expect these 90s to continue for a while. The former president was a big supporter, but now that hes gone, stadium opponents are hoping it gets scrapped entirely. They protested outside the Board Meeting this afternoon. He says right now he does not have an opinion whether that stadium should be built but he said more studies need to be done to determine the impact to the community. The group works with a shelter down in south carolina. The dogs end up coming here and going to a foster home first so they can learn what its like to be in a loving home. Whether it be through a Natural Disaster or a family that may have ended up financially not able to take care of a dog or possibly a death in the family.
