Through the early evening well be looking at the clouds. Temperatures not too horrible. Were falling from the low 40s and into the 30s. As we take a look at our radar. You can see everything is quiet here in philly. But not the case if you head off just a little bit further to the west. Heres the clipper coming straight out of canada. Its elongated as it moves through the western part of the state. Its got a rain snow mix associated with it. That will be starting at 3 00, 4 00 in the morning. Lingering on and off throughout the weekend, especially for tomorrow night. Lets take a look at maybe what some of these snowfall totals look like . Because thats probably what you care about, especially if youve got any Outdoor Activities with the kids tomorrow or any other plans. If youre up in allentown, you might pick up a couple of inches of snow. And thats because i dont think that youll change over to rain. The rest of the area where you see all these one inch marks well go back and forth between rain and snow and rain and snow. People in Montgomery County getting ready for round two of old man winter as we continue to dig out from mondays storm. Reporter crews will be out there fighting piles of snow like this, melting snow, freezing on the road as well as still cleaning up some of those side streets. I made the mistake of leaving it the night of the snow. And i came out the next day and it was completely iced in like i was in a block of concrete. Reporter mickey has learned his lesson, waiting for the snow to melt, just got his minivan iced in. Ive been out here for two hours trying to do this. Got three cars we have to do. Reporter some have been digging out little by little for days, others have never stopped. Ive been plowing for 35 years. And this ranked up in the top ten. Reporter days after stella dumped snow and ice in the area, township crews are still fighting the cold. Crews are getting ready this weekend filling salt trucks before they can go home. Theyll be on call. Were still digging out. Reporter in springfield township crews are using heavy equipment and shovels to tackle the sidewalks. Left untouched for days while crews cleared the streets to get people moving. And in norris town the heavy equipment is on the road but sometimes theres no tool to grab it. You got to pick up the snow with your hands . Sometimes its easier to do it that way, yeah. Its really heavy and wet. It comes out in big chunks. A pair of multimillion dollar bay front homes in avalon went up in flames. Crews tell us everybody, including a seven week old baby made it out safely. Investigators say it appears the fire started near Power Equipment just outside one of the homes and spread to the house next door. The one that caught fire, the second one, thats a seasonal home so nobody was inside. Right now one mans in custody after a bank robbery and this car chase in northeast philadelphia. The chase ended in fishtown, but started this morning at the Prudential Bank near frankfurt avenue. The robber walked into the bank, passed a note and took off with the cash. Officers were able to chase him down. Were learning a student at Lafayette College was killed in a car accident yesterday. Amanda minor was a junior. She was home in new york on spring break. Minor was thrown from the back seat of a car that lost control. The driver, an nypd traffic agent who has been arrested on charges, including vehicular homicide. Meanwhile, the president s new Budget Proposal makes massive investments to the military, funds of border wall and makes large cuts to popular social programs. That includes meals on wheels. Meals on wheels says federal funding is large portion of their budget and cuts could lead to fewer seniors getting help. Our older population is growing. So we dont need cuts, we need more funding. It gets to the point where you cant do things for yourself and you have to have a little help. The white house says, theres no evidence programs like meals on wheels actually work. But its up to congress to approve any changes to the budget. The question is will congress approve the budget today . We spoke to chuck todd, moderator of meet the press and asked him if President Trump can get republicans on board to support the budget. I think hes going to find that for now, no republican is going to feel comfortable embracing the budget. Its not a real budget, its more of a statement of principles. It wasnt a complete budget. They still left out all the entitlement aspects of things, any potential tax rates, things like that. It was really more of an attempt to say, hey, congress, these are the president s priorities. Noth9 00, a mix of south jersey, delaware, and th valley we could see mixing at 2 00 in the afternoon. Everybody looking at a little bit of rain because temperatures will be above freezing. Then it starts to drop off. We go through tomorrow night and into sunday morning. Thats our best chance for any accumulating snow. The whole thing starts to beat it out of here very early on sunday morning. You can see it backs up before it takes off up the are already this is it. Will be day. Once we get up here into the montgomery and bucks county area, thats where we could see maybe two and a half inches, richland, you could be looking at that. Abington maybe an inch. A woman is dead after a house in Burlington County went up in flames this morning. Nbc 10s south jersey reporter cydney long joins us from pemberton. Any word on a cause . Reporter we dont know the cause just yet. We know there are no signs of foul play. The county and state Fire Marshalls Office spent the day sifting through the debridebris. If not for a neighbors 911 call we could have had two fatalities. Neighbor gus never heard sirens, but instead he awoke to see flames. The flames was five feet above the chimney. Reporter he took this video as fire crews arrived. A 71yearold man answered the door, he didnt realize his house was on fire. He exited the front door. The police guided him out. Reporter trapped on the second floor. Something happened up there. Reporter a female in her 40s who was likely asleep when the fire ignited. As company arrived got a good knock down on it. Unfortunately a lot of the debris from the roof area had fell on the victim. The officers cant unsee what they deal with. Reporter investigators say the woman was burned beyond recognition. Andbelieve they were married bu say theyve lived her for 20 years. Its a shame. Yeah. To know that she actually died. Its like, nobody knew about it. It was still dark, pretty much people still sleeping. You see it on tv, but to actually visually see it, thats a sight. You really dont want to see because that was bad. That was a lot of flames. Not the heavy sleet we saw on tuesday morning. But this could be a little bit of a freezing rain, snow and sleet mix. Of course, it is the Lehigh Valley, berks toward mount pocono where we have the Winter Weather advisory from tomorrow morning through sunday morning just for that. Several inches of snow, a little bit of sleet. Adding insult to injury with all of the ice and snow thats out there. We continue to see from wilmington through millville, philadelphia, temperatures rising into the 30s. We transition to some rain. Throughout the day, i think from allentown off to the south and the east, were going to be looking at mainly rain out toward mount pocono. Thats where youll see the snow continuing, light snowshowers. We head into the evening on saturday, were looking at rain, watch what happened. Then we see cooler air coming in and see a transition to snow. The best chance for us to get snow i think in philly is going to be saturday night and early sunday morning. We get down to the freezing mark. Its all about the temperature as the clipper passes. Youll wake up sunday morning and see spotty snowshowers around the area. Well start to change over to rain again in the afternoon and then the whole thing gets out by sunday night. Monday, were going to be basically looking at sunshine returning and spring. Oh, yeah. Spring. 4 30 in the afternoon on monday. You may feel spring springing around your neighborhood. All calgh it a low to hour well seeere. Below freezing at night but above freezing during the day to melt anything away. Were not deal ing with high winds this time. Thats good news, right .
