At least its redeveloping right along the same area, and so you can get some heavy rain, up to three inches of rain falling there. Theres the storm headed into hokasin. We have a new one developing right in the same area that the other one developed. Remember, it was going to east nottingham. Now headed to east nottingham in the next 20 minutes. The fair is supposed to run through july 10th. Bill cosbys lawyers asked a philadelphia judge today to force the comedians accuser to pay up. Former temple employee accused cosby of assaulting her in 2004 after giving her drugs that made her feel, quote, paralyzed and unable to consent. Cosby said the sexual encounter was consensual. In court a few hours ago, cosbys lawyer said comstant talked to police without cosbys consent. Now they say she should refund the money. The judge didnt immediately rule. Its in response to the state senate refusing to take action on a proposed gas tax. Earlier this week, the assembly approved a bill that would increase the gas tax by 23 cents a gallon. The plan would have gradually cut the sales tax by 1 , and eliminate the tax on retirement income. Using your cell phone while driving in delaware just got more expensive. Legislation with stiff penalties is on the way to the governors desk. The first offense will cost between 50 and 100. Second and third offenses increase by 100 each. Supporters say Young Drivers are ignoring the law and higher fines may discourage that behavior. Right now, at 5 00, hundreds of striking hospitality workers are picketing the trump taj mahal casino in atlantic city. Nbc 10 was there when Union Members went on strike at 6 00 this morning. The union said it couldnt reach an agreement on a new contract. Theyre looking for concessions that were made during tougher times to be restored. This morning we spoke with a union representative. Disappointed that the taj mahal did not recognize the serious contributions that these workers bring to the industry, to the company. And to the town the way that the other four casinos that we negotiated with, and settled tentative contracts with yesterday did. The pills can cost patients between 1,400 and 3,500 a month. The law requires Insurance Companies to cover the oral drugs. A former camden city firefighter will spend the next seven years in prison. This is the key piece of evidence that led to his conviction. 41yearold shane straighter is wearing the red pants in this video. He was taking part in mixed martial arts competition. The problem . We started a couple of hours ago with a lot of activity in pennsylvania. It shifted into new jersey. We also have some activity in delaware. We also have a new thunderstorm in the same area as this heavy one that came across into northern delaware, now weakening. You recall east nottingham getting hit last night, getting hit again. Its going right along the masondixon line. We also have a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Cumberland County and Flash Flood Warning for the storms that are really not moving very much. The Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 5 45 p. M. And youll be able to see over the last couple of hours, not Much Movement with this storm, while these others are actually moving. And that makes a big difference. Another thing that were seeing, this is in velocity mode. You can see the Doppler Radar which way the winds are blowing. When you have the red next to the green like that, this is moving in this direction. This moving this direction. So were on the lookout for any kind of rotation, near millville, to see if that does develop into anything. And reach the ground. In the meantime, just south of vineland, weve had tremendous amounts of rain. 3 1 2 inches estimated by radar just west of millville, about 2 inches of rain, thats why theres a Flash Flood Warning. This other cell that went across parts of Atlantic County, looking like its moving into Long Beach Island, affecting ship bottom especially. The other area that went through philadelphia, remember bensalem, thats already up toward trenton. Thats moving up in the general direction of new york city. And im going to let delaware off the hook. Weve got the other cell coming through georgetown. Another one headed for milford in just a matter of minutes. Why are we getting those severe storms in south jersey . Look at this. Weve got a wind gusting to 46 miles an hour out of the west of millville and south wind in wildwood. Air convergence gets forced up, you end up with severe weather. And whats going to happen over the next few hours . As we go into the evening, we may see a couple of leftover thunderstorms. But most of the area starting to dry out early in the evening, and by late in the evening, even more so. So as we go through the night, and into tomorrow, were going to be seeing improved weather. Its not going to be like this tomorrow. Not even close. Now, as far as the fireworks are concerned, by the time the fireworks are on, i think well be in okay shape in philadelphia. We do have an issue at the start of the concert, perhaps with a chance of showers or thunderstorms. But thats just a chance. Then saturday is gorgeous. Sunday is nice, with high clouds coming in. And some computer models generally bringing increased moisture on monday. And especially for delaware and south jersey. The question is, how far north does this rain get. So it does look like its going to be cloudy on sunday. With the best chance of rain in delaware and south jersey. But its just in the chance category for philadelphia. So far, im just going to keep the clouds in and temperatures into the 80s. But again, i dont want you to think that there is a zero chance of getting any kind of precipitation. So as we go through the weekend, obviously saturdays the nicest day. Sundays pretty nice. Monday, not so much. Except for Lehigh Valley and the poconos where its going to be pretty nice on monday. Were already seeing significant improvement from philadelphia north and west. The next area of showers not until northwest of pennsylvania. Thats not going to reach us during the night tonight. We have some scattered showers and thunderstorms across the region. And a couple of warnings, generally in the millville area. Severe thunderstorm warning until 5 45. Weve had hail reports and gusty winds. And a Flash Flood Warning until 8 45 tonight. Because this is the radar estimated rainfall just south of vineland, and right near millville. Look at that. This is the heaviest rain, you can see over 2 inches estimated. Ive got a 4 1 2inch estimate there. Just west of 49, nearly 3 inches of rain in millville itself. There has been some flooding in that area. This is fairly stationary. The sea breeze is kind of meeting a west wind, and thats why this thing hasnt been moving very much. We also have some pretty heavy showers and storms that move from northeast philly up toward ewing township, right around trenton, Hamilton Square about to get it. Yardville getting heavy rain right now. And theres the storm in vineland. Just not moving very much. The one in Chester County at east nottingham, heavy just 15 minutes ago, has weakened. Theres not as much lightning with it right now. Thats a good sign. This one moved rapidly through georgetown, now its over milford in delaware, and that will continue to move into delaware bay. So as we go through the night tonight, we have the early chance of a thunderstorm. But then conditions improving, and by tomorrow morning, look at that sunshine. And low humidity. That message today from philadelphia fire commissioner, adam teal. At a news conference, the commissioner said a majority of the fireworks you see for sale are not allowed in the city. Even those that are, like the sparkler, can cause a great deal of damage. Sparklers can become very, very hot, literally thousands of degrees, and you can cause serious burns, injuries, even burn down an entire property. In 2013, sparklers caused 40 of fireworks related injuries. A salon, assault, telling us this man right here, grabbed a womans breast during a back massage in a nail salon. Hes now charged with indecent assault. It happened yesterday afternoon at the bloomingdale salon. The woman who was there for a manicure immediately reported the alleged assault. Now police want to hear from other women in the area who may have been assaulted by him. We have new Surveillance Video tonight of a man that police say stabbed and robbed a cab driver in camden on wednesday. Right now police are still looking for the man responsible. This video shows a better look at his face right here. Heres Surveillance Video of the moment it happened. Investigators say the man took out a knife and demanded money from the driver while he was still in the cab. The cab driver tried to fight him off but was stabbed several times. After the cab crashed into a car, the man got out and ran off. It was actually witnesses who saw the cab driver that came to his rescue. They helped him out before the police got to the scene. Heres video of him recovering at the hospital. Hes expected to be okay. Philadelphia police say a man fired shots at the door of a womens shelter in logan after a woman he was following would not talk to him. Police say this guy tried to talk to a woman after she was shopping yesterday. She was not interested and police say he followed her out of the store and then to the shelter. She went inside. Thats when he fired three shots and simply walked away. The president of an Ocean County Little League is in jail tonight. Vincent is accused of stealing 10,000 from the Point Pleasant beach little league. The board said he made withdrawals at atms around the area. Hes also charged with computer theft. The fallout continues over a private meeting between attorney general Loretta Lynch and former president bill clinton earlier this week. Today lynch announced she will accept whatever recommendations prosecutors make into the investigation of president ial candidate Hillary Clinton and her private emails. Lynch acknowledged that her meeting with bill clinton at an airport in phoenix looked bad. Important to make it clear that that meeting with president clinton does not have a bearing on how this matter is going to be reviewed, resolved, and affected by me. Lynch said the meeting was a social chat. Critics see it as improper contact as lynchs Justice Department is investigating whether Hillary Clintons private emails violated criminal law. Today president obama called on congress to act on funding to fight the zika virus. The president got a briefing from Health Officials today. They told him theres no evidence mosquitoes are spreading the zika virus in the u. S. Mainland yet. Congress has been unable to reach an agreement for the 1. 9 billion the president wants. For basic mosquito abatement and Vaccine Development and making sure weve got the proper diagnostic tools. Zika infections are linked to severe birth defects. Theres a drug that can ease your pets Independence Day anxiety perhaps. The food and Drug Administration approved a drug called cylio, an oral gel prescription by veterinarians, treats noise aversion. Symptoms range between minor skittishness to extreme panic. We do have this one shower that was in Chester County that is about to move into the philadelphia area. Its in Chester County now, along route 1, coming into delaware county, and eventually philadelphia. But thats not severe. Its not nearly as bad as this one hit south jersey here. This is a Flash Flood Warning in red. Thats a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in yellow. Severe thunderstorm warning extended until 6 15 for much of Atlantic County. Includes mays landing, and the Flash Flood Warning goes until 8 45. Millville and up near vineland. There has been flooding reported in this. This area is not really moving very much. We had the sea breeze that has met with the north winds. And not been moving very much. The air converges, rises, and it just keeps raining. And the doppler estimate just south of vineland near millville, 2 to 3 1 2 inches of rain with local reports up to 4. The storm that was headed toward Long Beach Island has weakened. Getting rain. But not anything severe at the moment. And we had some heavy showers move through georgetown, delawa delaware, and milford, and that is moving out, too. Just in, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for westcentral kent county. As we take a look at thats in northeastern maryland. And that continues to move in the general direction of delaware right now. And well have to keep an eye on that one as well. The futurecast as we go toward 8 00, when the orchestra is getting ready to go, we still have the chance of a leftover shower or storm. But the general trend over the next few hours, once we get this shower through philadelphia in the next hour, well have improved weather. Just some isolated showers coming after that. And by tomorrow, everything is beautiful. So, yeah, we still have the chance of a shower or thunderstorm at the start of this concert. But as the night goes on, the chances for dry weather continues to increase. Then we have beautiful weather for saturday. Great weather for sunday. You can see your own sevenday at the bottom of the screen, by the way. A system will come from west to east. It will mess up washingtons fourth of july, thats for sure. The question is, how far north does this precipitation come. This is the latest computer model, and its showing mainly from philadelphia southward, in delaware, south jersey, best chance of seeing some of this rain, this is on the fourth of july. So for the shore, your best bets are saturday and into sunday. Because cant promise you any good weather for monday.
