Shell take part in a gun violence discussion and clintons rival Bernie Sanders will be in pennsylvania tomorrow. He has events planned in reading and scranton. Clinton there in our live picture from north philadelphia also with former u. S. Attorney general eric holder. The republican candidates will also descend on pennsylvania this week. Here is jim schultz. Most polls show trump with a pretty big lead in pennsylvania. Do you think the other candidates can make it a real race . He has a pretty big lead in pennsylvania. I dont think the other candidates will make it a big race. Last night both candidates had a monster evening. Big wins. Clinton and trump. Trump comes into pennsylvania a friendly state and the other northeastern states with tremendous momentum. Clinton comes into pennsylvania, friendly state with big momentum and a lot more delegates. I dont think theres any chance youre going to see folks dropping out of the race on either side. I think sanders is going to be there to continue to sustain his quest to have socialism at the seat at the table in the democrat party. And youll see ted cruz and john kasich trying to steal the nomination at the convention, but the chances of getting the delegates the delegate math is impossible for those two. Trump is clearly the frontrunner. What will this race look like after next tuesday . Do you see anyone dropping out . I dont see anyone dropping out of this race. Like i said, i take cruz and kasich are in it. Theyre trying to demand that one another drop out of race, but the truth be told, neither of them can mathematically get to the number of delegates. But the only way they can do it is steal it away. Looking ahead here, pennsylvania known as a swing state. The general election, do you see republicans or democrats having the advantage . Pennsylvania is a swing state, but its really been a swing state for everything but the presidency since 1998. Republicans, the last time republicans won at the top of the ticket for president was 1988, and they havent won since. Theres a million more Voter Registration advantage here in pennsylvania. What i do think is that Hillary Clinton and donald trump, if the tables set for those two candidates, donald trump is going toy about able to garner the support of a lot of blue collar working class families and hes going to make it a race here for Hillary Clinton and shes going to have to spend some money here in order to win the election. Jim schultz, well keeping you busy. Take care. Well take a righthand turn now and bring you first alert neighborhood weather, a Beautiful Day outside. It sure was. And some of this could even be thunderstorms as we go into friday afternoon and friday evening. So were going to be tracking that very closely. Take a look at future weather. As we go through tonight, we do stay nice and dry. Now we zoom out going into tomorrow. We still stay dry but notice the rains getting closer, through the day thursday well be seeing increasing clouds. Then as we go into friday morning into the afternoon. Well see more rain approaching from the west. Theres friday, 1 00 p. M. We could also be seeing showers move in in the afternoon. 6 00 p. M. Seeing some showers, possibly thunderstorms as well. Right now at 5 00, take a look at this. This is the backup drivers are facing tonight as they try to get over the delaware Memorial Bridge. The reason those repairs were supposed to take place a few hours yesterday could now last a few days. Nbc 10 delaware reporter tim furlong following the very latest for us. What a headache out there. Reporter yeah, ill tell you. Cure qulosty always does me in. I thought today how bad could it be driving over there. So i did it. It was so bad i decided to go up to a different bridge just to avoid the gridlock coming back. Right now the delaware Memorial Bridge is not a great way to get from new jersey to delaware. Is there an accident . Reporter most drivers stuck in the backup didnt know why it was backed up. But it sure was bad. Ive never seen Something Like that. I would call it a parking lot. Reporter those who werent at the full stop were crawling. Maybe a mile and a half in an hour. Reporter her hopefully future employer was cool about it. No, they knew it already. I sat in traffic already for an hour after the toll bridge. And im going home. Im going to have to reschedule. Reporter inspectors working on one damaged vertical suspension cable found problems with two other cables. That meant they immediately had to reduce the weight on the bridge by closing all but one lane. Hardly unfortunate part about it is that the traffic has to go down to one lane. Were very confident of the fact that the weekends coming, we need to address this issue. Reporter convenience is now taking a backseat to safety. Drivers probably now wish they had checked google maps before they left home. They would have seen a ton of red high traffic lines even flowing back over the on ramps and side streets. They would have then know to take the Commodore Perry bridge, too late for the family heading down to north carolina. We might not get there any time this century. Youre talking about two to threehour delays because thats what it looks like right now. Reporter so as you come back live, youre looking live at the slow moving singlefile line coming from new jersey into delaware. That is after the construction site. So the fluid situation. Im told the work will continue for the next several days, but you should consider yourself warned. If you had family or friends north of here and theyll come down through the area, you might want to warn them to try the walt whitman or the Commodore Perry. Nowhere near the problems. Im glad i didnt try to come back over this bridge right here. Happily on the smooth sailing side of the bridge, tim furlong, nbc 10 news. John clark joins us from the wells fargo center. Theres a big game there tonight, but the eagles making big news today as well. Yeah, the eagles have stolen the front page news here moving up to number two and they are going to get a quarterback. Take a look at the quarterbacks that the eagles will get. It will either be jared goff or, of course, carson wentz.
