The 31yearold trooper was standing on the road when a passing car hit him. Jacqueline london is live in the Operations Center with more on the investigation. What did you find out . State police say there were several emergency vehicles with their lights on at the time cullen was hit. They were in the southbound lanes of 295 between exits 23 and 24, thats between route 45 and crown point road. Minutes after cullen called to shut down the left lane of the road, Authorities Say he was hit by a car as he walked near the crash scene. We know the driver is a 22yearold north jersey woman. Police say they dont know how fast she was going or how far away cullen was from his car when he was hit. It involve as fatality that elevates the accident to a whole different investigative level of thoroughness and making sure that you have literally dotted all your is and crossed your ts. He died a short time later. Police say the driver of the car that hit trooper cullen stopped immediately, she is cooperating with the investigation. So far no charges have been filed. He was driving in heavy rain when he lost control of his patrol car and hit a utility pole. And trooper Anthony Raspa died when his car hit a deer in Monmouth County last may. Lafayette college says 47 students were treat forward symptoms quint a stomach virus. Officials are asking students who are sick to not use the dining halls until they are symptomfree. This come as few weeks after 200 students got sick in Montgomery County. This prompted the school to cancel classes and activities. Health officials later confirmed norovirus was to blame. A confirmed case of the zika virus. The Montgomery County Health Department tells us a 55yearold woman was diagnosed with the virus after returning from a trip outside the u. S. The disease which causes severe birth defects is spread by mosquitoes. There are now six confirmed cases in pennsylvania, two in new jersey and one in delaware. Meanwhile, new evidence suggests sexual transmission of the zika virus is more common than first thought. Investigators say Eugene Paterson was the driver and Michael Carson was his passenger. Police say the two crashed into several cars in west philadelphia, then ran off. Four people were seriously hurt. Officers tell us a chase started when they spotted a possible drug buy. They say the two suspects took off in a rental car toward the city. More help is on the way to reduce violence in trenton. The citys acting attorney general announced a 1. 4 million grant to expand a program called trenton Violence Reduction strategy. That Program Offers help to exoffenders finding them work and providing counseling and treatment services. The Trenton Police department and the college of new jersey are both involved in the project. Right now 77 people are in the program. The William Penn Foundation is investing in quality prek for children in philadelphia. Reporter keith, we have confirmed that this was apparently a completely chance attack, in the middle of the afternoon right in the middle of this baltimore avenue transit corridor, we confirmed one person has died. His clothes are still in the middle of this crime scene after a stabbing spree that started town at that contradict wireless store. Take a look at some of the video we got in the past couple of hours. Philadelphia police say around 2 00 this afternoon the 55yearold suspect walked into that Cell Phone Store and stabbed his first victim who was just paying at the counter. The suspect walked out and jumped into the car of another random man, stabbed that man and then got out and kept going. The suspect approached a third victim who was waiting just across the street for his car to be repaired at an auto mechanic. The suspect stabbed that man. A 30yearold young man. He is the guy who ended up dying right in the middle of the street here along baltimore avenue. As we come back we can tell you that the two victims who were also hurt in all of this, they should survive. They drove themselves to Mercy Hospital which is just a couple of blocks in this direction. They are expected to be okay. The 55yearold suspect after stabbing those three people just walked away from the scene on foot. Philadelphia police picked him up at a strip mall a few blocks down the street. We can tell you that the two surviving victims are expected to be okay. The stabber is in custody tonight. Septa, though, is dealing with detours here along baltimore avenue, several of their trolleys are in a stand still position here. Hundreds of neighbors flooded his office after a flyer was left on their door step. He is accusing one company causing panic. Deanna durante went to ben saylem and to get answers. Looking very nice. You can see whats happening, sun going down in about the next 10 to 15 minutes. Sunset on sunday after we spring forward here, sun goes down after 7 00. Out there right now 72 degrees, winds out of the southsouthwest at 8 miles per hour. 12 degrees warmer than this time yesterday. So what a difference a day makes. 70s this week, were talking record highs. Thats one of the main headlines and one of those records is going to be 80 degree day. Then weve got a weekend rain chance. If youre got plan this is weekend well talk about that. First off, take a look at the numbers. Reading coming in at 73. 71 toward wilmington. Millville around the 70degree mark. Mount holly at 71. So beautiful evening no matter what youre thinking about doing getting out on the Schuylkill River trail. Down to the south and west, 73 in d. C. After a high of 79 today. 77 in richmond, 78 in charlottesville. So this is the heat. Its right on our door step and its going to move up i95 the next 24 hours and this time tomorrow well be in the mid to upper 70s. Not much in the way of clouds. We did see mid to high level clouds earlier this afternoon. Those have moved off to the north. Weve got the warm air in place. The jet stream dipping down to the south and well to the west. That allows all of that moisture, that very warm air out of the gulf of mexico to move our way. Were just going to see the warmer air. Theres chances for rain, they do increase. Record warmth, temperatures 30 degrees above average. You do not see that very often here around our region. Thats why were talking with the records. Overnight tonight, a mild evening, some clouds, 53 in philadelphia, 48 north and west, a very nice day. Early tomorrow sun rise around 6 21 so starting off on a good note. Tomorrow afternoon warmer, plenty of sunshine tomorrow, smashing the record, 76 to 79, the record is 73. That was set in 2000. Were definitely going to be crushing that record. Winds 10 to 15 miles per hour. Look at the rest of the area. 76 for a high tomorrow. Swedesboro at 78. Vineland at 76 tomorrow. Medford close to 80 degrees and medford, 78 in d. C. , up toward allentown t Lehigh Valley coming in at 75. So everybody is going to be on the warm side as we move through the day. The next couple days, 78 on wednesday, 80 thursday, there is that 80degree day. 68, a touch cooler friday. Thats because of the cold front. We see the cold front coming through. That will allow for moisture to move up that cold front and eventually well see some of that move in during the weekend. So were talking a lot of clouds this weekend on saturday and sunday. Not a lot of rain. If the youve got plans maybe take the small umbrella. I dont think youll need it most of the weekend.
