In fact, he could not recall a similar case hes been involved in in recent years that have proved to be this mysterious. On a scale of ten for being cooperative, id say a solid ten. Reporter bill brennan has every confidence his clients are innocent and had nothing to do with the death of their own grandson, 3yearold Brendan Creato. Moving now to south delaware now, federal researchers released findings on how their largest city can reduce the high number of shootings and violent gun crimes. State officials unveiled a study that identified risk factors for gun violence in wilmington. The cdc suggests that state agencies do a better job of sharing data to identify those at risk for committing violent gun crimes in the city. According to those stats of the more than 500 people who committed gun violence in recent years, most have criminal backgrounds, had disciplinary problems in school, and at least at some point were unemployed. It was so many times that there was an opportunity for intervention to occur before the person got to the point of committing the crime with a gun. In wilmington, 127 people were shot, 23 died. Elsewhere, Newcastle County police are getting some help, too. Delaware Crime Stoppers will now allocate any reward money at all to pitt callers. Talk about a wild ride, a driver in a stolen suv led miami police on a high speed chase this afternoon that lasted almost an hour. And get this, the suspect behind the wheel is only 15 years old. Officers jump out with their weapons drawn as they yank that 15yearold to the ground. They handcuff him, luckily here, no one was hurt. To this now, u. S. Officials tell nbc news it wasnt a missile that caused that crash of a russian passenger plane in egypt over the weekend. A u. S. Military satellite detected a flash over the desert at the exact same time as the crash. The flash may have been caused by several things, including a bomb on the plane, an engine or fuel tank exploding, or even the plane hitting the ground. A Russian News Agency says one of the planes black boxes reveal unusual sounds in the cockpit, but no distress signal. Isis claims it downed the plane, egypt and the u. S. Dismiss that claim. The Flight Attendant is being rude. Very rude. Very rude. Airport police removed seven passengers from a Spirit Airline flight after a seat was reportedly double booked. A man boarded flight 868 at Los Angeles International airport yesterday. He discovered someone else was assigned his seat. Five other passengers protested the mans treatment and the crew asked them to leave, as well. Spirit airlines has not commented on the incident. The controversy over the proposed Keystone Pipeline which would move oil from canada to the texas coast has been a topic of debate now for seven years. The company that wants to build the project has its way now, the battle will last a bit longer. Nbcs jay gray has the latest. Reporter stakes have dotted the plans marking out a path for the Keystone Pipeline across the ground. While the controversial project to this day remains up in the air, with transcanada, the company that wants to build the proposed pipeline from alberta to the texas gulf coast now asking the state department to put whats already been a sevenyear review process on hold. In a written statement, transcanadas president and chief executive officer said, we are asking states to pause its review of keystone xl based on the fact we have applied for approval of its preferred route in the state. That process could take seven months to a year. But opponents believe the request is a political move, potentially leaving the state of its controversial project in the hands of the next administration. This afternoon, the white house weighed in. It seems unusual to me to suggest somehow it should be paused yet again. A new problem for volkswagon could cost them more than 2 billion. The automaker says an internal investigation found, quote, unexplained inconsistencies in the Carbon Dioxide emissions from hundreds of thousands of its vehicles. The report comes after volkswagon reportedly cheated on tests for nitrogen oxide emissions. Takata could be facing up to 200 million in fines for the way its handled recalls for millions of airbag inflaters. They can explode with too much force during a crash. They are responsible for eight deaths and more than 100 injuries worldwide. Takata still faces hundreds of lawsuits and a criminal investigation from the department of justice. Listen to this, a mississippi man could face life in prison after police say he lit a fuse and threw an explosive into a walmart. Police say a vehicle driven by marshall leonard, this guy here, pulled up to the entrance of the store around 1 30 sunday morning, then witnesses say the 61 year old lit a device and threw it inside. No one was injured in the incident. Police say this incident may be related to leonards call for a boycott to walmart relating to the decision to remove the Confederate Flag from all of its stores. A first grader is serving a threeday suspension. The reason, for pretending to shoot another student at recess with a pretend bow and arrow. According to the boys parents, their 6yearold son was playing Power Rangers at recess when he pretended to shoot someone with a bow and arrow. The principal suspended the boy for the next three days. The principal sent a letter home to the parents saying there is no tolerance for any real, pretend, or imitated violence. This is nbc 10 breaking news. Sky force 10 is flying over breaking news at this hour. A tractor trailer is blocking the entrance to i95 southbound at front and market streets. The truck was trying to make a turn when it got stuck at the entrance. No one is injured, but the southbound entrance to i95 is closed right now. Darting into danger on delaware roadways. The state has one of the worst records for accidents involving pedestrians. So today the state launched new initiatives to protect people on the roadways. Reporter teresa says her 36yearold daughter melissa shouldnt have been out with her boyfriend along a dark stretch two months ago. The mother of four was hit by a car and killed. Her 19yearold daughter does have a message for pedestrians. I want to tell people to be cautious. I want to make sure that they know that it could happen. If not to them, to someone else. Reporter delaware is one of the deadliest states in america for pedestrians. In the last decade about 30 people have been killed along this busy stretch of route 13 alone. Alcohol is involved in almost half the cases either on the driver or pedestrian side. Last year delaware had a very visual Pedestrian Safety campaign. But clearly not everyone got the message. Come out along route 13 and youll spot plenty of people not using a crosswalk. Some of delawares busier roads, including route 13 here near Wilmington University have pedestrian overpass bridges and crosswalks, but some people tell me if the bridge or crosswalk isnt right in front of where they need to cross, they are going to take their chances for the sake of convenience. This crosswalk makes all kinds of noises and voice commands and even has instructions on the sign. Melissa died just a few feet from here. She had not waited for the signal to cross. Law enforcement agencies up and down delaware are now starting Pedestrian Safety campaign that will hopefully save some lives. Shes accused of thirddegree murder in the deadly shooting that happened during a traffic stop in february. Video shows kasich was unarmed at the time. Prosecutors will use the video to show she shot him in the back twice. Defense attorneys argue she thought he was reaching for a gun. If convicted she could face up to 40 years in prison. And prosecutors continue to try to convince a judge that the Lehigh Valley teenager accused of plotting to kill her mother should not be tried in Juvenile Court. The 18yearold is accused of conspireing with her boyfriend to kill her mother. In march her boyfriend, 21yearold Army Specialist caleb barnes allegedly stabbed her mother in the neck as the three sat in the car parked in the driveway of the familys home. Investigators say the teenager helped get rid of her mothers body. The maximum sentence in Juvenile Court is seven years. Prosecutors say a teenager cannot be rehabilitated in that amount of time. Meanwhile, the couple is asking for separate trials and want the case moved out of lehigh county. A man accused of killing a Temple University student faced a judge this morning. Brandon meade is accused of killing his 21yearold girlfriend last august. Police found agatha hall dead, shed been shot in the head. Investigators first believe her death may have been a suicide. A local funeral director in court today accused of storing decomposing bodies and human organs at his business. 52yearold Blair Hawkins is charged with three counts of abuse of corpse. The authorities were tipped off his funeral home was operating without a license and accepting bodies. Inspectors found two decomposed bodies, as well as two unmarked bags containing human remains. While in court today, hawkins was served with a lawsuit. Hes being sued by an 83yearold woman. Her lawyer says she prepaid for Funeral Services for herself but now wants the money back. Listen to this, the social network has removed the star icon found on every tweet, instead replaced it with a heart. Twitter said it made the change because the star can be confusing to new users and the heart is more universally known around the globe. Before, clicking the star meant you had favorited a tweet. Now clicking the heart means you like it. Twitter has been trying to make the service easier to use in an effort to attract more users. Were seeing still some mild temperatures this time of the evening, and the evening commute, there it is, south philadelphia looking across 95 here, a lot of people on the roadways with these mild temperatures. Hopefully, youre at least able to enjoy it today. The 70degree temperatures that we had around this afternoon, they are going to stay around for the rest of the week. We do have a small rain chance coming later on this week, but thats going to end up leading us to a cooler weekend. So we are looking at the fall temperatures returning into the forecast. Heres a look at whats going on with temperatures, though, yesterday at 65 degrees, still above normal, the average high 61, today we got to 76. Wednesday were going to be at 77, thursday still in the low 70s with a small rain chance, so well above normal for this time of year. Right now were still pretty mild. 68 in reading and pottstown, 70 right now philadelphia, 69 degrees for northeast philly and bensalem, 63 degrees glassboro, 63 in dover, 66 in wilmington. Very comfortable tonight and if you didnt get a chance to go outside today with the warm temperatures and the sunshine, we are going to have it again tomorrow. Clear skies around right now, thats going to stay the case, nice areas of High Pressure keeping us dry, keeping the rain to the south, keeping temperatures warm. The students attend different schools, the kids hid the pictures from their parents until one alert parent found them. Several students have now been arrested. Reporter Police Say Many of the students do not realize or fully understand that these sort of pictures and the resulting charges arent going to fade away and may stay with them and haunt them for the rest of their lives. The fight broken up and the arrest made at tredyffrin east Town Middle School was over bullying, police say, involving porn. A perpetrator got an image from the worldwide web and portrayed that image as a victim classmate. Reporter investigators say there were two more arrests at Conestoga High School of students taking pornographic selfies and trying to sell and distribute them
