Meantime, republican candidate Chris Christie is struggling to move up in the polls. Joining us to provide insight is chuck todd, moderator of meet the press. How much longer can biden wait before making a decision . Realistically, not much longer. I think when you start looking, you know t drop dead deadline for him is somewhere around the 1st of november. Believe it or not, there are some filing deadlines that to get on some primary ballots to qualify for delegates he would have to make by then that begin, believe it or not, as early as november. I think to put together the type of campaign he would need to defeat the clintons, i think he really only has until tehe end f this month. He needs to put an infrastructure together in the next couple of weeks if he wants to pull this off. Talking about another candidate, the a. P. Reporting that governor rick perry of texas is leaving the race. Hes about to speak live in st. Louis. What have you heard about that . We have confirmed it. He couldnt pay salaries for Staff Members in some key early primary states, some agreed to stay with the campaign on a volunteer basis but the fact of the matter is, he was struggling to raise money even in his home state. Look, he wasnt hes not alone here. All of the candidates that are attempting to run a second time, mike huckabee, Rick Santorum have struggled to gain traction, perry, rand paul, the son of a candidate who has run before, jeb bush, the brother and son. I think we have a republican electorate that is not interested in old. They want new, new, new. Perry had other struggles too. I think hes the first victim of this we dont want any retreads. Give us something new. Chuck, how about governor Chris Christie . He seems to be struggling, trying to pick up traction. Is it part of the bridge scandal, you think in. Oh, its, look, he had a lot of challenges when he began his campaign. The bridge thing certainly hurt him with a lot of donors who had doubts about whether he could overcome it. Throw in the fact hes just not conservative enough for maybe where this electorate is today. That said, i noticed a different chris christ nie in the last tw months. He looks like hes having a good time, he looks like the guy i covered when he ran for governor twice and was successful in new jersey. You know, i think hes got one shot at this, sort of seeing if he can break through. But i think we are getting into that mold where if it doesnt happen in the next six to eight weeks it may not happen. Chuck todd, thank you for joining us. You got it.
