Gompb, im Jim Rosenfield. Thank you for being live from the Montgomery County courthouse. Right now, that jury is trying to drill down on what bill cosby said happened inside his home as well as his relationship with his accuse sor. A lot has happened today. The jury came back with a second question today. They wanted to know the phrase without her knowledge meant in one of the e three counts. U be the judge sid he couldnt define it for them and sent them back to deliberations. Cosbys defense Team Also Read the statement of a potential witness late this morning outside the courthouse. The defense wanted her to testify on cosbys behalf, but the judge ruled her statement was hearsay and didnt allow it. Our Team Coverage begins with deanna durante, who has been in the courtroom for every moment of the trial. All of the questions seem to be focusing on the one aspect. It vounds that specific question. Abbi lead says the questions from the jury are typical. That as time goes on, both sides should be concerned. The longer they are unable to come to a conclusion, the more likely it is to become a hung jury. A deposition the jury has not byebye told he sat for. It came as part of a civil suit in 2005 and its the major reason why kcosbys on trial today. But the glaring passages that struck a cord when it was released is not what the jury is asking about. They have byebye asking for the passages to be read about the Sexual Activity with Andrea Constand and what he told her when he handed her three blue pills he claims that in that deposition are benadryl, an aid he gave her to relax. The defense has maintained cosby had a secret terrorist with Andrea Constand. When she woke that next morning, cosby handed her a muffin and cup of tea and sent her out the door. Deanna durante is back inside the courtroom as jurors ask yet another question. And as deliberations continued inside, bill cosbys spokesman spoke outside the courthouse ask away from the jury. Hes claiming he didnt get a fair trial because it was blacked from testifying. Jackson is at Temple University academic adviser. Jackson alleges Andrea Constand told her she intended to set up cosby. She claim it happened in a hotel room that she shared in rhode island. That conversation she says happened there. Jackson says she was an adviser for the Athletics Department at the time and Andrea Constand was an Operations Manager for the Womens Basketball team. Heres a a portion of that Statement Read by bill cosbys spokesperson. There was a a news story of a high profile individual who was accused of drugging women and sexually subtling them. It was a well publicized case. It peaked andrea ess interest. She told me something similar had had. Happened to her. I was shocked. I asked her if she had filed charges. She said she had not. I asked her why and e she said that like the story on the news, the person who had drugged and done something to her sexually was a high profile person. I asked what she was saying really happened. Her response was that had not happened, but she could say it happened and filed charges, filed a civil suit, get the money, go to school and open up a business. During crossexamination last week, Andrea Constand testified that she did not know marg jackson. They said it was hearsay and did not allow her to testify yesterday. Retired court judge is live in our breaking news center this afternoon. Judge, thanks for being here once again. Lets talk about the witness Statement Read outside the presence of the jury. Andrea constand said on the stand she didnt know ms. Jackson. Thats enough for the judge to keep that witness off the stand . We dont know, but i got to tell you, theres no legitimate good reason or purpose for the spokesman reading the statement during jury deliberations. It doesnt serve a purpose. Normally, you would let that come in based on what the letter said for credibility purposes and crossexamination. But we dont know what the judge said on the record ask whats in the transcript about his reasoning for not letting that in. But i have to tell you i think maybe the judge want thes to put a gag order on everybody while the jury deliberates because having these statements read by different representatives while this jury is deliberating, in my view, serves no legit hat purpose whatsoever. So you were stunned that his spokesperson did that this afternoon . It doesnt serve any purpose. The judge probably made his ruling on the record. He put his reasons on the record. There might be other things we dont know. Why do we need to have that kind of statement now read to the media when the jury is in it deliberations. I think the judge should tell everybody thats enough. The longer the jury deliberates we heard they have come back with a couple questions over the last day or two. In your experience s that working in cosbys favor . Is there any way to know . Thats hard to say. I have had cases where juries deliberated two or three days, never asked a question. And sometimes a verdict of not guilty. We have to look at what the questions are and try to read into that a little bit. The main thing is were not hearing from this jury. Were dead locked. Were at an impass. Thats what you dont want to hear as a judge. The fact that its gone on 12 hours now, that doesnt concern me. If they are having healthy, ongoing debate about all the issues in this case, thats what the system is set up for. Judge, we appreciate your insights. We know well hear more from it you in the next couple hours. Thanks so much. Were just letting started this afternoon with our coverage of this major trial. Making international headlines. Is this west wind Strong Enough to prevent the sea breeze at the jersey shore. The ocean temperature, 64. If the wind is coming in off the ocean, its cooling down. But it was 90 there about noontime. But it is totally reversing. 180degree change as we go into tomorrow and with the wind coming in off that 60 plus degree ocean. It cant get too hot. It cant get into the 90s yet. Eager to know and hopefully this dies down. Its a lot of craziness all day, every day. Reporter the number of spectators out here has dwindled throughout the day, but they will be back until a verdict is reached. Joining us once again from aur breaking news center. Thanks for being here. This is an out of town jury brought in from pittsburgh. Theres been speculation that could play into the spoed of deliberations. They maybe want to dwet back home. In your experience with juries, do you find the outside influences come into play once they get into deliberations or tune all that out and take their job seriously. I think the latter. This jury has been in my view tremendous. They have been sequestered nine days. I havent heard of one jury issue, one jury problem. And if only they were worried about getting back to pittsburgh, you would have had a verdict last night. So i think they are taking this very seriously. They are asking pertinent questions, asking for a review of certain testimony, they asked for a clarification on the law. To me this is a hard working jury that wants to get to the right decision. So i dont think they are in any rush to get home. I think they are more apt to do justice in this case. That would bode well for both sides. Judge, thank you. Well have more analysis with you again coming up in the next hour. Stay with nbc 10 as we await the jurys decision. Well bring it to you live on air as soon as possible it happens.
