Reflects itself in our politics, as opposed to it being so polarized and so nasty, that in some cases you have voters and elected officials who had more confidence and faith than a foreign adversary than they have in their neighbors. You know . And those go to some bigger issues. You know, how is it that we have some voters or some elected officials who think that Michelle Obamas Healthy Eating initiative, School Nutrition program is a greater threat to democracy than you know, our government going after the press if theyre issuing a story they dont like. Right . I mean thats an issue that i think we have got to wrestle with and we will. People have asked me how you feel after the election and so forth and i say, well, look, this is a clarifying moment. Its a useful reminder that voting counts, politics counts, what the president elect is going to be doing, is going to be very different than what i was doing and i think people will be able to compare and contrast and make judgments about what worked for the american people. And i hope that building off the progress we have made, that what the president elect is proposing works. What i can say with confidence is that we have done worse. That i can prove. I can show you where we were in 2008, and i can show you where we are now. And you cant argue that were not better off. We are. And for that, i thank the american people, and more importantly, i thank well not more importantly, as importantly, i was going to say, josh ernest. For that i thank the american people, i thank the men and women in uniform who serve. I havent gotten to the point where ive been overly sentimental. I got to the point where i did my last christmas note tphoto l and right at the end of the line, the members of the marine corps band come in and i took a picture with them. And it was the last time i was going to take a picture with my marine corps band. I got a little choked up, but i was in front of the marines, so i had to tamp it down. But it was just one small example of all the people who have contributed to our success. Im responsible for where we have screwed up. The successes are widely shared with all the amazing people who have been part of this administration, okay, thank you, everybody. President obama reflective there as he approaches the last few days, or month of his presidency, what will be the longest News Conference of his presidency, and what we expecteexpect ed, a lot of the questions were about whether the russians did have involvement in the u. S. Election. Confirming the russian hack, but not necessarily suggesting what the intent was. It seemed to me what his intent today was to try to de deescalate the partisanship. And the way of convincing the president elect. If he ees skeptical, other republicans, he went out of his way to separate the election result from what russia did. I was struck by, he was a bit defense about how forthright, how much of a sense of urgency there was early on in letting the country know, the people know about the russian acts, kind of deflected and put it on the news media, that the news media was more obsessed with the subject of the emails than the hacking itself. Hes pained about how hes leaving. You can see it, hes pained about the political climate. Hes pained about the fact that theres political demonization, there was more rawness i thought at the very end of that press conference. It wasnt whimsical, it was obviously very reflective, but he seemed i cant put my finger on it, but just very, very upset about how hes having to exit. And the president s goodbye there, he left the room, saying that the family will take their next annual vacation in hawaii. The First Alert Weather Team is hard at work. This is when our exclusive neighborhood weather really comes into place, because the impact will vastly depend on where you live. Lets begin with glenn and the timing of all this. We have been talking about this for a long time, we issued the first alert two days ago for a good bit of area, philadelphia, new jersey and northern delaware, philadelphia was already in the first alert. This is generally from 11 00 p. M. Friday into saturday morning. Going to last different times through different areas. Accumulating snow an icy mix and slippery even icy roads and even Ice Accumulation on trees and power lines in some locations. So from 4 00 a. M. To 8 00 a. M. , we are snow changing to freezing rain and sleet in part of the area, and that icy mix changing to rain from south to north across the region, thats when things are going to be changing. In the afternoon, its fine, everybodys above freezing, and at night, were warming up even more, this is what it looks like as we go through the night tonight. Temperatures are rising, and by 6 00 a. M. , snow in philadelphia, snow in p. A. Suburbs at 29. Snow in the lehigh valley, of 28. Delaware, getting close at 31. 32 in much of new jersey and just raining at the jersey shore. Thats part of what neighborhood weather is all about. And were going to be seeing that snow come in from the west, this is the area on the radar as you can see, its growing and its moving eastward, and watch what happens as it goes into the morning hours, by 5 00 a. M. , we have a large year of snow across the region, but like i said, the warmer air is coming up from the south, and that is going to change snow to ice, the ice is going to be, i think the biggest problem with this storm. Meteorologist Sheena Parveen is breaking that down for you. Lets talk about the ice, because like glenn just mentioned, the ice is going to be the biggest problem. So well talk about the most dangerous times here to be on the road. The ice is shown by the pink and look how much it covers down to our south and west. For them, it could be a pretty prolonged ice storm. By 6 30 in the morning tomorrow, this is when well see ice moving into the philadelphia area, parts of northern Delaware County and some of our neighborhoods in new jersey right across the river or at least right near the river. Then were going to go through time here, about hour and a half, now were looking at early in the morning. The pink is spreading to the north as the warmer air moves to the south. The snow still farther to the north, parts of Montgomery County, most of bucks county, most of Chester County, even berks county, all seeing icy conditions, this makes driving very dangerous. And the problem now is that the ice does look to be lasting longer. In norristown, pottstown, all these areas, west chester, by 8 00 a. M. , you could still see ice falling. Then before 9 00 a. M. , should be mainly snow falling and accumulating and then well see ice. Even upper bucks county and berks county as well. Farther to the south near philadelphia, we should already be seeing a change over to rain, but the ice is going to be the biggest problem on the roads in the morning, so wait to leave until after 9 00. Drew smith is live in norristown where penn dot is preparing for the freezing weather. This is fully stocked, this is as much salt as youll see all season. They are ready for this. They say this all started on thursday when they started their deicing program. Tonight this is going to be a busy place. The timing they say is good because its going to be happening in the overnight hours, and because its a weekend, but that doesnt mean its going to be a quiet weekend here. Theyre mixing that salt with sand and they have been treating since thursday with that anti icing program. The salt trucks will begin to roll out around midnight when the snow begins to fall, and after that if they need the plows for major accumulation, theyll be moving those out as well. Were going to be heading down to another part of this salt yard to watch a demonstration of them loading the heavy equipment they brought in.
