The crash happened around 2 00 this morning as a group of teens rode bikes on broad street near wallace street in spring garden. Police say the car hit two 16yearolds boys who were riding on one beek. Officers caught up with the driver nearby on ridge street and say he appeared to be intoxicated. A story we first told you about yesterday. You may remember. A man saw an alleged thief trying to break into a car. So that man chased the alleged chief, and after a crash he fired a shot at him. Today police say both men are being charged in the case. Now to the latest on the terror in orlando. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie ordered all flags at state buildings lowered to half staff in memory of the victims. In a statement the governor called the Orlando Attack a deliberate and callous assault on the freedoms we cherish as americans. Theres another visible show of support along i95 in philadelphia. A billboard reading heal our orlando is on display on the northbound side of the interstate near front street. Meanwhile, we are learning more about the events leading up to that shooting. The coowner of a florida gun shop says omar mateen tried to buy body armor and bulk ammunition about five or six weeks before the orlando shooting. The shop owner says mateens behavior was suspicious and employees did not feel comfortable selling him 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Mateen walked away emptyhanded. Authorities continued to look into how much mateens wife knew in advance about her husbands plans to attack the pulse nightclub. A source close to the family told nbc news mateen texted his wife during the rampage, asking her, do you see whats happening . I need a big hug from you, man. I appreciate it. A Central FloridaPolice Officer visited a patient he helped save from the rampage. Officer omar delgado had an emotional reunion with angel colon at a hospital in orlando. Orlando hospital, that is. Today in South Carolina the city of charleston paused to note a grim anniversary. Dozens of Memorial Services around the city paid tribute to the nine people massacred on this day last year. Reporter well, jacqueline, the senior democratic senator from pennsylvania does not want a gun to get in the hands of anybody convicted of a misdemeanor hate crime. Now, as you mentioned, the senator was in philadelphia today. He was visiting with members of a. M. E. Churches throughout the region. Ministers throughout the region, they were observing the oneyear anniversary of the shooting at the Historic Black Church in charleston where nine people died. The senator says the root of what happened there in that crime along with what happened in orlando is hate. And thats why hes calling for this legislation. Back to our breaking news story now and the Discovery Police say they made inside this bucks county mans home. 12 girls, one as young as six months old, and Authorities Say he fathered two of them with a teen whose parents sold her to him. Nbc 10s Randy Gyllenhaal is live in southampton township where he just spoke with police. Reporter this is a very disturbing discovery. An anonymous tip led authorities to this home in feasterville, bucks county on old street here. Let me zoom in and show you this house where Authorities Say 12 girls ranging from six months to 18 years old were found inside the house. And they tell me none of these girls had birth certificates readily available. Police say it doesnt appear any of the girls were in school or even registered with authorities. And after investigating police tell me that the homeowner, lee kaplan, and well put his mug shot up, police say kaplan allegedly sexually abused at least one of these girls. Now, police say it gets even stranger. That girl hes accused of abusing was sold to him according to authorities by a couple in Lancaster County, formerly amish, who needed to settle some sort of financial obligation. Police now investigating whether any of the other children inside the house were abused. But they say that girl that was gifted to kaplan and abused allegedly gave birth to at least two children inside the house. This child gave birth to other children through an inappropriate relationship. And do you know who these other children were in the home, these other 12 children . Were still investigating that. Bucks county youth is investigating that along with some other agencies helping out trying to identify their genealogy and who the parents actually are. Do you know if they were registered with the state at all or have any identity . As far as i know, we havent been able to locate birth certificates or any kind of paperwork for these kids yet. Authorities also called for assistance from officials in Lancaster County who have more experience dealing with cases involving the amish. I should also tell you that the parents of that 14yearold girl who was allegedly sold to lee kaplan, those parents were also arrested. They are also facing charges. Police tell me theres much more to come on this very complicated case. Again, theyre continuing to investigate to determine whether any of the other 11 children inside this house were also abused. An anonymous tip has led to a disturbing discovery in bucks county. 12 girls are now in protective custody after being found at a home in feasterville. Police sate homeowner was abusing at least one of them and theyre worried the others could be victims too. Nbc 10s Randy Gyllenhaal just spoke to neighbors of the suspect. What dhoef to say . Reporter neighbors tell me theyd often see little girls dressed in amish clothing running around the yard here, often peeking out of windows but always acting extremely skittish. And yesterday an anonymous tip led authorities in Lower Southampton Police to this house in feasterville and inside as you mentioned, 12 girls ranging in age from six months to 18 years old were discovered. Police say none of them had birth certificates readily available. Police say it doesnt appear any of them were in school or registered with the state. And after investigating police tell me the homeowner lee kaplan, well show his mug shot here, they say he allegedly sexually abused at least one of these girls. Police tell me it gets even stranger from there. They say that the 14yearold girl hes accused of abusing was gifted to him by a couple in Lancaster County, formerly amish, who needed to settle some sort of financial obligation. And police say kaplan fathered at least two children with that young girl
