The president elect brought his senior adviser, south jerseys kellyanne conway, i dont knons. He then had a message for everyone in the room. We are going to make America Great again, greater than ever before. Thank you very much, everybody. And right there, start tomorrow, the next president of the United States and the Vice President. President elect trump and president obama will leave the white house tomorrow morning en route to the u. S. Capitol. Mr. Trump and Vice President elect mike pence will take their oath of office just before noon. Former president s from both parties will attend, including jimmy and rosslyn carter, george w. And laura brush, biush, bill hillary clinton, and barack and michelle obama. George h. W. Bush and his wife barbara wont be there, both suffering from health issues. A family spokesperson said theyre improving in the hospital. The 92yearold had a blockage in his lung and could be released from the hospital in a few days. Barbara bush has bronchitis. Tomorrow, a teenager from pennsylvania will be in the spotlight. Jackie evancho gained worldwide attention on americas got talent when she was 10 years old. She posted a picture with the capitol behind her. Particularly this time of year, what goes hand in hand with politics . Parties. Yes, and donald trump has chosen to participate in three inaugural balls. The first one is the liberty ball where he will dance with his new first lady for the first time. The second is the freedom ball. And the third is the salute to the armed forces ball. Its hard to estimate exactly how many people will be here crowded behind us here in the Nations Capital. But estimates right now are about 900,000 people are expected to attend the events both in the morning for the parade afterwards and the events tomorrow night as well. As you can imagine, security is tight. Weve seen so much of that as weve been here in the Nations Capital. We can tell you that the planning started months ago along the National Mall and the parade route. A lot of roads are blocked off from traffic. Everyone will have to pass through a security checkpoint. And guns are not allowed, even for those with gun permits. Tonight there is some chaos in the streets not far from the capitol. Protesters set off some smoke devices right in the middle of a crowd in front of the National Press club, which was the site of a protrump ball. Officers put on protective gear in case things escalated but no one has been hurt and police have not in fact made any arrests. There could be more protests tomorrow, including in philadelphia. Yeah, in fact police in philadelphia are advising people to avoid center city. Nbc 10s Brandon Hudson joins us live from our nbc 10 studios. Brendan . Jim and jacqueline, Philadelphia Police say if you live in center city, avoid city hall, thomas payne hall. In less than 24 hours, he expects to recite the oath in front of a large crowd. He says its for the peoples inauguration, a contrast of Donald Trumps president ial inauguration in washington, dc. This moment is to really transform some of the anger, some of the fear and sadness into hope, into action, into love. His group is one of several planning demonstrators in philadelphia tomorrow in rebuttal to trumps ceremony. The organization one pennsylvania will be there too. We have to stand together to make it work. She told us her group will rally for awareness on several social justice auction which are getting more interest. Over the last 24 hours, so many people have reached out asking how they can help, how they can get involved. Nbc 10 learned several groups will meet at city hall and thomas payne plaza. Walking with them along the way will be Philadelphia Police, making sure demonstrators are safe and afternoon rush hour traffic is organized. Protesters are looking to have whatever issue they are promoting, looking for exposure. And, you know, its not our job to inhibit that. Police are suggesting taking Public Transportation if you can. We have mostly clear skies at the moment, its chilly, not that cold and not that windy, so it doesnt feel any colder than those current temperatures. You can see the clouds approaching. Theres the rain, a wall of it headed to the east. Its going to take a while to get here. So were not going to expect it during the morning rush. During the afternoon it increases. Once it does start, it looks like it could be several hours worth of rain. Not especially heavy but not real light either. Its not a trivial thing. And it will be moving out of here by the evening. So you can see, nothing in the morning. Then the threat of rain generally afternoon, across much of the area. That will keep the temperatures down as well. County officials released a statement confirming sara had worked for the county. What did you know when you fired her and what did you do with that information . Im not even sure im privy to that information. Reporter packer was a foster mother to 30 children. Grace and her siblings were placed by berks county. Lehigh county placed two children with the packers. But where are the other 24 kids . What happened sickens me. Now investigators are trying to figure out how it happened and how many students were involved. Nbc 10s andrea clinethomas reports. 20, a doctor is coming in. That was the same as you would pay in a copay. Reporter this mother asked that we not reveal her identity. A physical in her childrens Philadelphia Public School was supposed to be a convenience, a quick check of their vitals, eyes, and joints, and their eligibility for sports. That was in june. But by december my child came to me and heard that the physicals that they had were no good. Reporter no good because the alleged doctor, v. Rerenita bay her name doesnt even come up in the states database. We informed parents and made sure students were able to get proper physicals. Where is the paperwork, where is the procedure that this woman came into the school . Reporter its a question the School District still cannot answer. They also cant say how many students in various schools were seen by the woman posing as a doctor. Theyve involved the authorities in their investigation. Now we have set in place protocols and procedures to make sure it doesnt happen again. Reporter its not enough for this mother who says parents deserve answers. How can you trust the district . First alert chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz joins us for you. Its warm for january. And it has been quite a while. And especially the nights have been way above average. Weve got a couple of bouts of rain coming. The appetizer is tomorrow afternoon. Thats round one. Then we get a break from the rain. So saturday should be dry. But then the main course comes that sunday afternoon and monday and monday night. Heavy rain and gusty winds. Right now, its in the 30s because its mostly cloudy out there. Its 42 in rittenhouse and center city and society hill and port richmond. Its 33 at Chestnut Hill and andorra. Thats the kind of difference our neighborhood weather can show you. Now, we have mostly clear skies now, theres the rain back to the west. Its growing. Its moving in the general direction of the east coast. But its going to take a little while before it gets here. Its the second area that were most concerned about. Thats why weve issued a first alert for rain and strong storms for the entire area, for sunday afternoon through monday night. Were talking about rain heavy at times, strong gusty winds, perhaps gusts over 50, and coastal flooding. The minor rain, thats going to be affecting the inauguration tomorrow. Theres 10 00 a. M. , a little bit of light rain around. Theres noontime, the latest computer model just out. And its still showing rain right at noontime. And its also showing it tapering off as we go toward 2 or 3 00 in the afternoon. And so the forecast continues to have the rain at noontime and drying out as we get toward 2 or 3 00. That area of rain is going to be moving up to philadelphia as we get into the afternoon rush. By the end of the afternoon rush, it may actually be dry. And then its dry on saturday but lots of clouds. Then here comes the rain starting up on sunday. Thats really going to be nasty. Now, tonight it is dry and chilly. You see the temperatures mostly down in the 30s. During the day tomorrow, we start off dry. Morning rush is fine. And then in the afternoon, look at that, theres the rain.
