They lost not one but two quarterbacks to injury on sunday. He was riding his bike with a friend when he was killed in a hail of bullets. Good evening. Im denise nakano. Investigators talked to the survivor of the shooting. Drew smith is live at Philadelphia Police headquarters. What did the other teenager have to say about what happened . Reporter denise, he told detectives here he had never seen these attackers before tonight. Police say they want to find four men who were riding in a silver buick with tinted windows. They want to ask what would drive anyone to commit such violence against kids riding bikes . Crime scene investigators were busy in north philadelphia. They marked the spots where 17 shell casings hit the ground. They came from two guns pointed at 15 and 16yearold boys. They really wanted to kill them. Thats sad. Reporter elbert jordan was inside. Police say the boys were bike and had some interaction with men in a silver buick. Later, they saw the same car again pulled over. The boys realized something was wrong and turned around. At this point, two men had gotten out of the car. They were running after them as they were shooting at them. Reporter police heard in the eruption of shots and found one boy hit in the back. He did not survive. The motivation for the killing is unclear. It could have been road rage but it is not clear. That is a lot of shots. Reporter police hadded two dozen incidents in the past couple of weeks. Pastor jordan says out of control driving is an issue here, too. People see a lot of road rage. These boys were neighbors. Police tell us they werent far from home when they ran in to this violence. We do not know the name of the victim who died just yet. Live at police headquarters, nbc 10 news. More parents are coming forward with reports of tainted halloween candy tonight. They are finding needles, possible chemicals and other objects in what should have been sweet treats. The first report came from children in chester county. Then tonight, nbc 10 learned about possible problems in woodbury heights, Gloucester County and bensalem bucks county. Randy gyllenhaal talked to worried parents there. Reporter in kennett square, chester county, police say at least six chocolate bars were found with sewing needles inside. A young boy had saw a Facebook Post warning of this urban legend and opened his own bag and saw the candy. Everybody check their candy. My mom sent an email to my other friends. Reporter police interviewed the child. They want to make sure it is not a hoax and not the only alleged case. A viewer in new jersey claims her snickers bar had a nail inside of it. She sent these photos along and this family said they found a problem with this kitkat bar. He went to eat a kitkat bar and noticed a hole in it. A tiny hole about the size of a needle and the chocolate looked tampered. The family took it to be xrayed at a nearby clinic. They said it was definitely a needle hole and they assumed its some kind of chemical put on the randy. Reporter these stories pop up every november 1st, often times they end up being hoaxes that lead to criminal charges, but this family is convinced something sinister happened here. A Westchester University student is in the hospital after he was shot near campus overnight. Police were called to boxwood ally behind the 500 block of south high street just after 1 00 this morning. The Universitys Department of Public Safety sent out an alert letting other students know what happened. One student we spoke with said this kind of incident is rare. Definitely unusual. To delaware county, a Police Officer is recovering after a car crash. His cruiser collided with a pickup truck near concord road. Our cameras caught police clearing the scene. In south jersey, police are on the hunt for a hit and run driver who stole a Good Samaritans vehicle. The incident happened this morning on route 30. Police were called to the atlantic palace this morning. It is not known what caused the womans death or how long she had been there before she was discovered. In lancaster county, spca officers rescued 80 animals from an apartment. Officials say an a Maintenance Worker made the discovery on thursday night. 65 guinea pigs, ten rabbits and a dog were found alive inside. Three dead animals were recovered.
