The father of one of couchs victims says no one should be surprised. Reporter today investigators ran down more leads in their search for ethan couch. Federal Authorities Say the 18yearold is on the run after he failed to meet with his probation officer. His mother also missing. Its our number one priority right now for our task force. Reporter known as the affluenza teen, couch was sentenced to ten years probation for drunk driving. The crash killed four people and injured nine. During sentencing, an unusual defense. The attorneys argued the teen did not understand the consequences of his actions due to his affluent upbringing. He says hes not surprised couch has gone missing. I think he was never taught that actions have consequences other than the easiest way out. Reporter so why would couch run . A spokesperson said investigators have interviewed witnesses at this party captured on cell phone video who claim couch was there. Alcohol use would violate his probation, although couch is not seen drinking in the video. I think that was the trigger, what forced him to run. I think they ran because that video was released in the fear he would now be finally locked up. Marshals service says that couchs father is cooperating and has talked with investigators, but so far theres been no sign of his 18yearsold son or the teens mother. In an attempt to stem the flow of migrants, congress this week approved a 750 million aid package to improve security and Living Conditions in Central America and through an ad campaign the u. S. Is also urging people in that region not to risk the dangerous journey to the United States. The number of migrants, many of them unaccompanied children, is on the rise in what some are calling the new normal. Reporter on patrol friday night on a texas road near the rio grande, u. S. Border patrol agents come upon a group of 40 young men, women, and children from el salvador and guatemala who just entered the United States illegally through mexico. Another Central American group walks right up to them. They too just crossed the rio grande on a smugglers raft. On this road, earlier this week agents find three children and two Young Mothers from honduras, one of them pregnant. This woman says shes fleeing violent honduran street gangs to protect her daughters. At a shelter in mcallen, 100 new Central American migrants stay there a day. The number of arrivals fell off dramatically, but this summer they started back up again. In just the last two months more than 10,000 unaccompanied children and 12,000 family members arrived at the border. More than double and nearly triple the amounts the same time last year.
