Patco will roll out six of its next generation train cars that come complete with upgraded seats, heating and cooling systems. The cars will go into service at patcos station in cherry hill shortly after 10 00. Theyre just the first in a 194 million project to remodel all 120 cars in the patco fleet. And today, septa will take the next steps in the project for the lansdowne, montgomery county. The board will get to develop the rights to a new train station on ninth street and a new parking garage. They start work on the 600space garage near the current station. Septa will run them when a judge ruled that they have accepted another ads. Pennsylvania state lawmakers want to overturn the citys paid sick leave law. A panel of state senators wants to change that. It requires businesses with ten or more employees in the city to provide one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Now, the state senate though has passed a bill that would overturn that law. The senate saying they need uniform laws with businesses across the state. The bill has gone on to the house now. State senator larry turn anywayscy, he is chairing a here along with state representative Maria Donatucci who represents a portion of philadelphia. Shes also cochairing this hearing today at 10 00 this morning. They both support paid sick leave. Don that tuch donatucci has introduced her own bill. Sponsors for philadelphia say it benefits 200,000 phillians or about 40 of the workforce. Police say the 26yearold victim was walk along cottman avenue just before midnight when two people fired several shots, hitting him in the arm. The man was treated and leased from released him from the hospital. A man of a trial accused of murdering a pregnant woman and her 4yearold daughter. Marcel johnson is charged with homicide arson and other crimes. They describe how johnson stabbed ebony cali her daughter and calis unborn child and then set her apartment on fire to hide the evidence. The defense told the jury someone elses dna was found on calis body. Johnson faces the Death Penalty if equityconvicted. Police say the man seen in this Surveillance Video is one of the suspects. Its the first Major Overhaul of the system. Six new cars will be rolling out later today. The beginning of a 159 million rehabilitation plan. After today, more cars in the patco fleet will be upgrade as well. Patco says the trains are just outdated. Decades old. Now in with the part of the modern interior and updated systems for riders that go from new jersey to philadelphia and vice versa. There will be a press conference later on with local leaders to unveil the new railcars. Again, more will be coming. Crews quickly put the flames out. The victim suffered from smoke inhalation but is expected to be okay. Happening today, a judge will officially sense raf Fay Yael Jones the man who murdered philadelphia Police Officer moses walker jr. Jones already knows hell spend the rest of his life in prison for killing officer walker a 19 year veteran and a deacon at his church. The officer was wearing plain clothes when jones and another man tried to rob him and shot him. A judge sentenced jones accomplished from 20 to 40 years in prison. Its 6 34 and 71 degrees outside. The blueberry crop is ripening faster than it should. The heat is making it turn blue before it grows to size. They should not be this small. They should probably be twice that size. When it stops, theres no process, when it rains, you dont have that you dont normally have that this time of year.
