In the last 30 minutes American Airlines told us all passengers have been put in hotel rooms and will get a flight to frankfurt earlier this morning. The airbags made by Japanese Company takata the government regulators are ordering them to be replaced. We have some perspective. 33. 8 million. 1 in 4 vehicles on the road. Investigators got a break after they found his mini van. Surveillance cameras recorded his van in fish town. Cintron forced the woman in the van at gun point before assaulting her and letting her go. A strange but true story has some parents concerned about this skate park near the park museum. Its not the borders or ramps, its a man searching for young feet. Its been a long road but some communities still hurting after Hurricane Sandy are still hurting. Its taken an auction to do it. Philadelphia police want to talk to a man who asked to take pictures of an 11yearolds feet. The boy says the man approached him while he was skateboarding at pains park near the art museum. The man took several photos of the boys bare feet in exchange for a soda. He told the boy to come back with his friends. The incidents happened on may 10th. It wasnt reported until several days later. 6 15. Camden county police could soon realize its goal of becoming a true regional force. Two years after joining with the Camden City Police the Camden County force wants to partner now with pen talk ken township. Nbc 10 got a copy of the proposal it got on monday. It could save pennsauken nearly 5 million a year. This he would have to cut positions and make changes in overtime and salaries. Pennsauken police tell us the citizens are not happy. First concern is where did this come from . This isnt what they want then why is this happening . I think theyre doing what pennsauken has been doing for a long time. Pennsauken police say the township plans to hold a forum to get public comment. Police in new jersey are on the lookout for a missing man that they believe could be connected to this fiery crash in burlington county. Investigators say Joseph Tiedeman owned the truck that crashed into the overpass. One man in the truck died but police dont believe that victim was tiedeman. Now theyd like to ask the 58yearold Joseph Tiedeman some questions but havent been able to find him. He lives in burlington. If youve seen him around give him a call. A proposal to pump your own gas in new jersey may be running on empty. Two bills moving through the statehouse would kill the 500 fine drivers face for pumping their own gas, but state Senate President Steve Sweeney said the measure will not pass while hes in charge. Sweeney said theres nothing wrong with the current system. I like doing things on my own. To me id rather get out and do my own stuff. We already have people who dont have jobs. Now they want to take the jobs away from the people. New jersey is one of only two states in the country where drivers are not allowed to pump their own gas. When they arrived at their home on east adry street at 3 30 in the morning they were approached by three armed men. They say they were forced inside and asked to hand over money and jewelry. The suspects took off in a white suv. So far there are no arrests. New from overnight, six shootings, some deadly in what was a violent night in philadelphia. The shootings happened across the city from the northern neighborhoods to the central and western sections of philadelphia. I just got off the phone with homicide detectives who tell me no arrests have happened yet. A mother of two was injured. It happened on east walnut lane in germantown after a stray bullet hit the womans home shattering some glass which then injured her. Now earlier in the evening two men were shot along frankford avenue in kensington. One of the victims who was shot in the head later died at Temple University hospital. The other deadly shooting happened in West Philadelphia on north red field street. Police there say two people were shot along north red field street by someone in a car and drove away after pulling the trigger. One of the victims from that case, the 36yearold man died after arriving at presbyterian hospital. To recan, right now investigators are looking into six separate shootings, some in germantown some in West Philadelphia. Also a scene in north philadelphia and in kensington. A week after a deadly Train Derailment is calling for the railroad to put the second engineer on the trap. Having two engineers would be a safety backup. Youll recall that engineer Brendan Bastian was alone when it derailed. The video shows the train seconds before the derailment. The video is not being released because it is part of the investigation. It could take a year or longer. A senator from connecticut is calling for investigation into possible price gouging by airlines following the derailment. Senator chris murphy says there were reports that airlines dramatically increased airfares after the rail service was disrupted. He wants the Justice Department and federal trade commission to look into the matter and ensure that the airlines were not trying to make money off the tragedy. Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell says the senate will vote on a bill to end the National Security agencys bulk collection of phone records before lawmakers break for the memorial day recess. They passed a measure which will replace bulk collection of a casebycase basis. Mcconnell has been holding out for hope for full renewal of the patriot act which includes a bulk data collection. That law is set to expire june 1st. A senate vote is also expected later this week on a highway funding bill passed by the house. The temporary bill would fund highway aid for two months. Current funding from the federal Highway Trust Fund would have expired at the end of the month. Pennsylvanias governor says some of that federal money is needed to fix this states roads and bridges. The study by the Nonprofit National Transportation Research group says youre twice more than twice as likely to dion a rural road in pennsylvania than on an interstate highway or city street. According to the report, 18 of the states rural roads pavement is in poor condition. Need federal help. 52 of the money that goes into repairing our bridges and roads in this country comes from the federal government. In his democratic speech kenney called for universal prekindergarten and called for an end to stop and frisk. He called foran increase in minimum wage. He won in a labtd slide. Anthony williams got 26 of the vote. The remaining four contenders finished in the single digits. Kenney faces melissa Murray Bailey in the general election. That means six more months of campaigning for both sides. The odds are in kenneys favor as no republican has won the mayoral seat in philadelphia since 1948. Live at city hall this morning im matt delurk sha, nbc 10 news. Reporter im katy zachry from center city philadelphia, where police are investigating six shootings overnight. Germantown a mother of two was injured in her home. One of the victims died at Emory University hospital. The other deadly shooting took place in West Philadelphia on north red field street. One of the victims there also was pronounced dead after being taken to a nearby hospital. To recap, philadelphias police say they are investigating six separate shootings with scenes in kensington, West Philadelphia germantown and north philadelphia.
