This is not a good sign on 95 where we are seeing issues at girard northbound and southbound. So skyforce 10 is over the scene of the latest crash. This was at 95 right at girard northbound that involves three vehicles. And you can see as we hear from crews here theres a bunch of debris stemming from the accident into the center lane. As you can see, cars are really trying to get around this on the righthand side. To my map, theres a lot to show you happening on the roadways. Well start with a different Vantage Point from the crash on i95, this is a live look at the northbound side with traffic approaching the crash. It is really backing up. Take a look at the drive times southbound. Its much higher with your drive times near woodhaven and the vine taking you longer on 95 southbound. Theres another crash clearing to involve two vehicles. And ive been watching that to look less severe than the one northbound. An accident on woodland avenue and vineland in philadelphia. Taking a look at the overview with two crashes on 95 northbound and southbound. 76 is clear, thank goodness with the blue route looking good and the turnpike looking good as well. Moving into new jersey the drive times on the 42 freeway between route 55 and the walt whitman bridge will take you five minutes. Your bridges look good as well. Theres a lot to talk about, vai. Thank you, katy. Breaking news with a shooting at a campus party. Police have made arrests. Matt delucia is live at Temple University hospital. Matt, the suspect struggled during the arrest. Tell us more. Reporter police were able to get that man in custody along with another suspect. Meanwhile, to victims are here at Temple University hospital. One is 23 years old and the other is 19. Now the 2200 block of park avenue is not far from the campus. Now Philadelphia Police tell us around 1 30 there was a house party going on and officers many the area heard the gunshots and found the victims on the street. They also saw a man put down a semiautomatic gun on the sidewalk and tried to run. Officers chased him and the suspects fought with police before finally being taken into custody. Now, he and another man he was with are being interviewed by central detectives to figure out what the second mans role may have been in all of this. We have numerous witnesses, at least ten witnesses who say that this shooting all started from a fight inside of a party in a house in the 2200 block of park avenue. Reporter and police say there were at least 100 people at the house party. Most of them were campus students. The 22yearold was shot once and remains stable. The 19yearold was shot three times and is critical. Well continue to follow the story throughout the morning. Live at Temple University hospital, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. New from overnight, officers still searching for one suspect after a Home Invasion led to a chase in oxford circle. Police responded to shicer street and found two suspects in the home there. One suspect tried to run and Police Quickly caught him. The other jumped out of a window and took off. That suspect dropped a loaded gun magazine and we have video of that there a block from the scene. Hes still on the loose. A car crash in philadelphias holmesburg section. The driver lost control near ash burner street and smashed into a stone wall. They found a beer cooler inside the van. The driver is treated for injuries and is being treated for possibly driving under the influence. And new from overnight, a row home fire in trenton sends one person to the hospital with burns. The fire broke out on Center Street after midnight. Crews put out the flames on the upper floor of that home. We are working to find out the victims condition. Investigators found what appears to be drug making equipment inside the home. And new video into nbc 10 this morning, this is video from youtube of a fire we told you about last night in the apartment complex in Chester County. This fire broke out around 6 00 last night at the winter brook apartments in west chester. Now here is the view from skyforce 10. You can see the fire destroyed one unit of the complex. No one there was hurt. Investigators are looking for a cause. And youre about to see some new video confirmed by nbc 10 news. Taking in the moments before a Cumberland County man died in police custody, the blurry images are from monday after Vineland Police responded to a call for a disorderly person. The video appears to show Phillip White lying on the ground with at least three officers around him. Police say he had some trouble breathing and then was unresponsive and died in the ambulance. Witnesses claim they saw the officers punching and kicking him while restrained. And whites friend believes the video backs up the claims. Well, look at the video yourselves and youll easily understand whats going on. The Cumberland County Prosecutors Office says it is reviewing the video as part of the investigation. They also said it may be weeks before they get the autopsy results. And the racketeering trial of the philadelphia narcotics officers will resume on tuesday. A witness testified yesterday suffering from a bruised skull and a loose tooth when former officer Michael Spicer allegedly robbed suspects during drug busts. A seventh officer pleaded guilty and is set to testify against his former colleagues. And new this morning, a West Chester University student is facing rape charges after he assaulted a woman at a fraternity party. Officers arrested maricio sanjuan sanjuanmartinez. The alleged victim called police after the party and administrators wont comment on the case because of the ongoing investigation. And from our Delaware Bureau this morning, the state senate voted to repeal delawares death penalty. Police groups and the top democrat in the statehouse opposed the repeal. It would not apply to inmates currently on delaware east death row. And 6 07 a. M. In Delaware County Funeral Services will be held tomorrow for Darby Borough Police officer mark hudson. Police say officer hudson was offduty when he was shot to death with his own service weapon. It happened at his house in glen olden last saturday. Hudsons girlfriend tayaina finch. You can see crews out on the scene milling about and traffic on 95 northbound at girard is condensed to one lane getting by. This is really affecting your drive times on northbound as we go to the maps. You can see how bad they are northbound but they are even they have changed in the last little bit. Thats good. Southbound they were worse but thats come down. And southbound we are dealing with an accident at girard. That happened earlier than the one i showed you with skyforce 10. Southbound between the woodhaven and the vine is a half hour. Northbound because of that accident we showed you from skyforce 10 the number is creeping up to a half hour in the same stretch. In southwest philly we have an accident at the intersection of island avenue and woodland avenue with the crew at the scene who just told me there are injuries involved with that. So it looks to be out there for some time. We have delays on 95. 76 is looking good between the blue route and the vine. And for drivers along 422, youre looking pretty good as well. And Rutgers University plans to merge its two law schools in newark and camden. The schools board of governors voted to approve the merger yesterday. The University Says the two locations would remain but the school will start using a single application for students enrolling next year. The change still needs to be approved by the american bar association. And we have new information on why a california lawsuit claims wine could be hazardous to your health. The liquor control Officials Say they will not pull wine from the shelves said to have high arsenic levels. The lawsuit in california claims thats true of some popular lower priced wine. The Pennsylvania Liquor control spokeswoman says the board is monitoring the situation but has not seen a reason for concern. And federal Health Officials are warning about the stomach bug in some parts of the country including pennsylvania. The cdc says the culprit is a bacteria that americans traveling overseas are bringing back. They say the bug can cause diarrhea stomach pain and fever and can be resistant to drugs. The cdc says 18 cases are clustered in pennsylvania and did not say where. The jp pen prkspcpenney store at Granite Run Mall is going to be shutting its doors tomorrow. Analysts say growth may have exploded in march. They are expecting the government to report 248,000 new jobs. Every state agency is immune from paying for Property Damage caused by potholes. Hundreds of people have submitted pothole claims this year with all denied. Can you imagine the cost to the commonwealth and the municipalities. If someone can bring this to small claims group, they have to get a lawyer for every pothole case and it will probably bankrupt many of our municipalities. Meanwhile, in new Jersey Drivers can sue the state for potholerelated damage but it has to be documented and submitted within 90 days. Delays northbound and southbound on 95 we are on the scene of the latest accident on 95 at girard avenue northbound where we can see one of the emergency vehicles moving out of the shot as we speak. But still three cars involved in this taking out the left and center lane. Traffic is on i95 northbound confined to the extreme righthand lane around it. Thats causing a mess. Well go to the maps right now to show you some of the backup. Coming out from the scene, heres a look at the backup on 95 northbound. And the southbound drive times between woodhaven and the vine is 25 minutes. Northbound it exceeded that because of the crash northbound. There was also a crash southbound when i looked at the cameras and it was in the stage of clearing. And good news we are clearing in south philadelphia. We did just have a crew leaving the scenes there saying theres nothing to report at the intersection. And 295 near the turnpike and 42 freeway, all looking really good. Thats good news. 6 20 and now were getting closer to sunrise. Getting a better view of the clouds rolling through the area that have already produced showers. This is a cloudy view near the little area here. It is 53 degrees right now in mount pocano. That snow is disappearing with rain moving through south jersey right now. The drive near beach avenue you can see the waves picking up with the wind. The winds are at 21 miles an hour. The winds are slowly picking up. We have winds at 14 miles an hour in philadelphia. Thats a warming direction for us. Winds out of the north are helping to warm us up and the other part is the clouds came in so we didnt get a chance to get cold overnight. We are following breaking news from overnight with a shooting at a house party attended by temple students near campus wounding two people earlier this morning. Reporter we have been making phone calls this morning and heres the most uptodate information we have. The two victims remain here at Temple University. One is 23 years old and hes stable. The Philadelphia Police tell us it was around 1 30 with a house party going on. At some point, a fire broke out and spilled out into the street when the two were shot. Matt delucia, nbc 10 news. Thank you, matt. This morning were working to find out more about a hazing investigation involving the womens Softball Team at st. Josephs university. The school told nbc 10 that they are looking into the allegations. Saint joes said it is taking action to make sure students are safe. The university wont comment on what the allegations involve or why students needed to be kept safe. The Softball Team is in washington d. C. For a game this weekend. And at penn state another fraternity is suspended following a hazing investigation there. The National Headquarters of pi kappa phi shut down the Charter School for three years. They are accused of hazing violations and dzw disorderly conduct. Last month another fraternity there was shut down for displaying pictures of naked women on facebook. And investigators charged Jamie Silvonek in the murder of her mother cheryl. And Taylor Barnes is already charged in the case. The couple killed jamies mom because she was trying to break them up. On the night of the murder jamie sent barnes texts saying i want her gone. And come over so we can do whatever is necessary. And just do it. Police say barnes stabbed cheryl to death in a car outside her home. New jersey senator bob menendez is getting help in what could be a long fight following his indictment on corruption charges. They have launched a Public Relations campaign and yesterday menendez vowed to fight the charges. His friend also entered a notguilty plea. Each faces 14 counts centering on conspiracy to commit briarry. The indictment says menendez was given free jet rides and a free weekend in paris to help pass a Port Security contract. Now they have laid out their case and well finally have an opportunity to respond on the record in court with the facts. Prosecutors have to prove the gifts and favors amount to bribery rather than reflection of a longtime friendship between the two men. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie pardoned a philadelphia woman who became the center of a National Gun Rights debate. She bought a gun in pennsylvania back in 2014. Less than a week later she carried the legal gun in new jersey without thinking and broke state law and suddenly faced years behind bars. The case attracted National Attention from gun Rights Groups and eventually the prosecutor agreed not to take the case to trial. But the governors pardon is considered an even broader victory. In a statement allen said this pardon will allow me to move forward and properly support my family. God blessed me with the strength to make it through this unforeseen journey. Police in Delaware County want to know who painted a hateful message at a Fraternity House at swarthmore college. Someone painted the message on the fraternity on tuesday. This comes from the Student Newspaper the phoenix. This appeared two weeks after a Fraternity Member wrote an article in the paper taking part in the positive things the fraternity does. On the Facebook Page a statement reads, we condemn the strongest possible terms both the act of vandalism itself and more importantly the message that it displayed. Swarthmore college put out this statement, we are deeply disappointed by this behavior. Vandalism of any kind is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Police tell us there were about 100 people at this campus party at 1 30 this morning where there was a fire and two people were shot. And we have route 202 at 422 looking great. Taking a look at the majors throughout pennsylvania. 76 and 476 the blue route are all clear. 95 we are seeing delays southbound because of volume earlier with two accidents on 95 at girard avenue in both directions.
