Two people have been killed following an abduction and robbery that ended up in the Schuylkill River. Their bodies in the Schuylkill River. Heres a sky force 10 live over the scene. They were searching. Police did find the two bodies floating in the river. Nbc 10s Monique Braxton has been gathering information all morning and is live on the scene near kelly drive. What can you tell us . Reporter the marine unit now has amped its supply of force arriving on the scene. Let me show you where two bodies are located. Look over my shoulder where the detective is standing with the hat. One body is there on the other side and then right down to the left where you see a group of crime scene investigators that have arrived on the scene are standing at the location of the other body. We were told that about 4 00 this Morning Police received a call that three men had been robbed, abducted and then dumped into the river. We have since learned from homicide detectives, veterans here on the scene, they arrived about 5 00 this morning. The two bodies are bound multiple times and floating here in the river. Now, youre looking at video we captured about 4 30 this morning shortly after we arrived. We were told that the two people are not sure what happened. The circumstances leading up to their arrival here. One detective pointed out drag marks. He also pointed out tape that was here on the concrete. Its very hard to see. I can tell you because of the developing things here that are going on, the crime scene has been expanded and more officers have arrived. Were told that police brass will arrive momentarily to give us an official statement but for now three men robbed, abducted, brought here to the banks of the Schuylkill River. Two bound multiple times are dead in the river. A third one stabbed and taken to a local hospital. Were covering this breaking news out of philadelphias fishtown neighborhood. Two men posing as police stole 100,000 from a Food Distribution center. That robbery took place around 2 30 this morning at a business on North Delaware avenue. Nbc 10s jesse gary has been there for us all morning on scene. Jesse, have you learned anything else about this company . Apparently someone knew it was open during these Early Morning hours. Reporter they believe it may be an inside job because of that. Weve done some digging into kawa foods. They help with emergency food supply services. At this point investigators believe someone who does or used to work here was in on this crime. Lets take a look at our video earlier this morning two criminals knocked on the front door posing as cops. When the owners opened up, they were forced inside at gunpoint forced into the safe room and to open the safe. This is a remote area of Delaware Avenue off i95. Not easily found during the dead of night and as such investigators believe this was an inside job. Its dark. Its very convoluted back here. Theres always a possibility that somebody knew where they were going and knew where the money was inside this property. Reporter and now as the sun is starting to come up, you can see most of the police have left this area. One lone police car here as kawa begins normal operations for the day. Investigators say the time it took for criminals to make off with 100,000 in cash was just five minutes. Surveillance cameras inside and outside. They believe that will lead to a quick capture and that video will be released to the news media shortly. A house fire in north philadelphia left one person with minor injuries. It started around 11 00 last night. Heavy smoke was coming from the home when firefighters got there. Everyone was able to make it out of the home safely. The cause is under investigation. Happening today, a 7yearold philadelphia girl is expected to testify against the woman accused of abducting her from her school and subjecting her to horrific sexual abuse. The courtroom was cleared yesterday as jurors were shown graphic pictures of the girls injuries. A doctor testified that she has rarely seen abuse this severe. Jurors were visibly shaken but the defend, Christina Regusters didnt react. Regusters insists shes not the person responsible. Prosecutors say regusters is the woman seen here leading the girl away in january 2013 before taking her to a house in cobbs creek and holding her captive. 6 06. A court date scheduled today in Montgomery County for one of the alleged ring leader of a drug operation on the main line. Timothy brooks is accused of selling and recruiting others to sell marijuana and other drugs to students at several high schools and colleges along the main line. Four other suspected dealers pleaded guilty to charges related to this alleged ring. Investigators say those defendants have agreed to testify against their codefendants. Now, the alleged ring leaders include brooks who faces formal arraignment this morning and neil scott. Prosecutors say those two ran the operation which they called the main line takeover. It was a house guest of two women murdered in philadelphia who is now charged in their execution style deaths. Police say 25yearold robbed the victims and shot the women inside their house. Dolly evans and ruby thomas were killed execution style on saturday following a struggle. Police say he was in prison for Violent Crimes involving a gun and lived with two women for three months. The son of dolly evans is still in shock. He stayed with them and my mom took him off the streets. For why he did that over a couple dollars, now he got to sit in jail for the rest of his life. He says his mothers funeral will take place saturday in maryland. This morning were hearing from witnesses about the moment that someone opened fire at a crowded Basketball Court last night in north philadelphiathe 17yearold robert reid. There was a game being played last night. It wasnt an organized game. Reid and others were playing ball on this court on cumberland street around 8 30 someone fired at least ten shots at reid. Most at close range. He was killed. Witnesses describe what happened when they heard the gunshots. Everybody ran. Nobody knew where the shots was coming from. Everyone ran in the same direction basically. I had just left and heard about it and came running back because hes one of the kids thats special to me. Police say there were about 100 people there. There was a neighborhood cookout going on when that shooting happened. They saw another 17 year old running from the scene just after shots were fired. Police believe hes the shooter and that reid was the intended target. They are now looking at surveillance cameras to try to identify that suspect. Clear skies overnight. Philadelphia Police Charged one man for a series of robberies targeting the elderly. They say the man seen on the left turned himself in on monday. Investigators believe the trio is connected to nearly a dozen robberies in northeast philadelphia between june 3rd and august 13th. Victims left the bank and were robbed outside their homes. Bensalem police need your help finding vandals that appear to be targeting the graves of military veterans. Investigators say there have been three separate incidents at Rosedale Memorial Park and Roosevelt Memorial cemetery where grave site American Flags, veteran markers, flag holders and other decorations were piled up and set on fire. To take the American Flag off grave sites and decorations is despicable. I dont know why someone would want to do that and to happen at two cemeteries a mile or two apart clearly it seems like the same person doing this and theyre upset over something. Reporter i can tell you that a short time ago top police brass began arriving at the scene along with several more homicide detectives, members of a Forensic Team and the crime scene investigators. We can tell you that two bodies are floating here. Theyve been mound multiple times and duck taped. Other police brass are on the way. Were seeing you the video above. Weve been watching for several hours as detectives have been shining flashlights along the banks of the Schuylkill River where the bodies are floating several feet apart. When we arrived, officers were shining lights on the river. Thats where two bodies, both bound and duct taped. Found floating in the water. Investigator pointed out there was tape left on the concrete. He also told me that he believes that a vehicle apparently dragged the three people here and dumped them. Weve been moved back as the scene has expanded in the past couple of hours. Philadelphia police tell us they received a call at 4 00 this morning that three people had been robbed, abducted and brought here to kelly drive and dumped into the Schuylkill River. When we rushed here, we saw an ambulance leaving the scene. We were later told that one person has survived. He was also stabbed and is recovering at a local hospital. Just a short time ago, the marine unit that you see here on the lefthand side told us they have suited up and theyre prepared to go into the river but theyve been told to wait until 7 00. A robbery happened around 2 30 this morning at kawa foods on North Delaware avenue and police are searching for two men who dressed up as cops to rob that Food Distribution center. Reporter i just checked in with detectives here at scene who tell me that Surveillance Video weve talked about all morning will be released later this morning possibly as late as noon today. This robbery took place around 2 15 this morning when two criminals posed as Police Officers and went to that locked door you see there. Knocked on it. When the owners opened it up, barged in with guns forcing them to open the safe with guns to their heads. They made off with 100,000 in cash and then tried to cover up their crime. They tried to tear some of the recording video equipment off of the wall, which they did, threw it to the ground. They exited through the same door that they entered and they fled in a vehicle. Reporter they believe that vehicle is a dark colored suv possibly a mid 2000 chevy trailblazer. I95 is nearby. It could be anywhere by this time. Also happening today in philadelphia, a 7yearold girl is expected to take the stand and testify against the woman who allegedly abducted her from school and sexually abused her. New from overnight, fire tears through an abandoned house in camden. Nbc 12 was on the scene. Fortunately no one was injured. A philadelphia man who confessed to killing his wife at a local park is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing this morning. Christopher murray is charged with murder and is behind bars without bail. Investigators say he initially reported his wife, connie, missing hours before her body was found but then failed a Lie Detector Test and admitted to strangling her during an argument. The couple argued at the home the night before. Connie left and her husband followed her to the park where they continued to argue and thats where a struggle happened and he killed her there. School superintendent will join parents and city agencies to announce a new initiative talking about a new resource for parents who want to find high quality Early Childhood programs for their children. That announcement will take place this morning at 11 00 in west philadelphia. Weve got sunshine and temperatures right now that are about their coolest. Good morning, guys. Expect delays on patco. Signaling problems on ben franklin bridge so both directions you can expect to see delays there. New accident into the system in Chester County and an update on the accident on woodhaven road that just cleared. One lane of traffic was getting by for 40 minutes. As you can see, that is now gone. And we have an accident buck run road between springdel road and doe run road. We are dealing with Police Activity along the banks of kelly drive near hunting park avenue. Not impacting traffic. That activity is on the sidewalk and grass in that area so traffic is moving along in both directions. We continue to update that breaking news at the Schuylkill River. They found the male, 20 years old, stabbed multiple times in his torso and his legs. He also had duct tape on his face and was bound by his wrists behind his back and he was also bound, ankles were bound. He stated that he was abducted around 1 00 in the morning. He was thrown in the back of a van. Said he was abducted by about five males. With no specific description. Thrown in the back of a van. While in the back of a van, he was blindfolded. He was stabbed numerous times. He was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. While in the back of the van, he then realized that there were two other males in the back of the van who had already been there. They were duct taped and they appear to have been stabbed numerous times. They were driven to the 2300 block of kelly drive where our 20yearold victim and the two other males that were in the rear of the van were taken out of the van and all three bodies were thrown into the Schuylkill River. Our victim was able to free himself from the river, climb on the bank of the river and thats when police were notified. The other two Victims Police did find submerged in the Schuylkill River. They were underwater but advisable in five to ten feet of water. Both bodies were 50 feet apart. Both bodies were obviously dead and were pronounced dead by Fire Department paramedics at 4 26 a. M. Both dead bodies had duct tape wrapped around their face and they were bound at the wrists and ankles and they appeared to be tied to some sort of piece of debris, some sort of weight used as an anchor to keep them under water. Crime scene unit personnel and homicide detectives are on the scene looking for any evidence. I Wont Disclose the location where our 20yearold victim was abducted. However, it was in philadelphia. And we do have detectives out there. They did locate some cameras in that area so hopefully those cameras can help us with our investigation and identify these perpetrators who abducted our 20yearold victim and hopefully these cameras can help us identify the van. So at this point, the only motive we have for the abduction and stabbing of our 20yearold victim who is alive is robbery. He claims when he was thrown in the back of the van and tied up and stabbed he was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. He further states two other victims were already in the back of the van and he was not with the two other victims. They found two bodies floating, stabbed, wrists and ankles bound and they were weighted to be under the water. A third victim also bound and stabbed got to the banks of the river called police saying that five men abducted the three and thrown them in the back of the van and dumped them in the Schuylkill River. The group invited state and local legislators to join in their discussion tonight talking about Community Concerns over the tax increase and solution to help homeowners who may be forced to leave Atlantic City if they cant pay taxes. This started at five men abducted three men, bound, gagged, stabbed them. Threw them into the Schuylkill River. Robbed them. Two men died. One man survived. A wild story unfolding this morning. We followed the break ing news where two men have been murdered. Three men were abducted and thrown into a Schuylkill River. Reporter we got an update. Let me show you whats going on right now. You see the forensic unit and veteran homicide detectives and then top police brass have also arrived to assess the situation. Moments ago we were told by police that just before 4 00 a. M. , police got a call a person was abducted and thrown into the Schuylkill River. They found a man wearing his underwear and shirt stabbed multiple times in his torso and legs and bound with duct tape but he managed to escape. We have video we captured when we arrived at 4 30. Investigators say the abduction occurred at 1 00 in the city not revealing the location. They say four to five men had thrown as many as three people inside a van including this surviving person. Right now back here live at the scene, two bodies are floating near the banks of the Schuylkill River. Theyve been bound several times and duct taped. The way they were murdered police are not sure. Theyre not sure if they were alive when they arrived here. They are about 50 feet apart here in the river. Several authorities are arriving here on the scene and were being told that momentarily the marine unit will be going into the water to remove the bodies.
