The southbound side just past the exit for lansdale. On the northeast extension both lanes are blocked. Traffic getting by on the shoulder. At least two vehicles involved in this crash. I tell you to take route 309 as an alternate. Were dealing with issues on 309. An update here. Still have this accident southbound 309 blocked there. A small portion of 309 is blocked in that area. Were waiting for that to clear. In the meantime, county line road is a good alternate and then 309 southbound at norristown road an accident taking out one lane. Thats cleared to the shoulder. Thats good news update there. This is 95. What a mess we have out here. Look at all of this activity. This is 95 southbound as you approach route 320. We have this accident. We have one lane of traffic right there getting by. A really big delay forming on 95 southbound. As we pull back a little bit, you can see that street sweeper that is down here on the left corner of your screen. Thats the other vehicle that is said to be involved in this accident. And so right now police are tending to the scene at the moment and fortunately one lane is getting by although thats the shoulder. Two main lanes of southbound northeast extension by morris road. They are blocked off but police are diverting that traffic and from up in sky force 10 we can see this backup extend for at least a couple of miles. I see headlights from out the window here as far as i can see so this is a pretty major backup. A good idea to take an alternate route if at all possible. And so were going to keep an eye out here. You can see that traffic just backed up here. Just very slow going as people are starting to head out to work or wherever they need to go on this tuesday morning. We continue to follow that huge backup in the accident on the northeast extension. Jillian mele has an update for us now. Its incredible how quickly we see a huge backup form on the northeast extension whenever we have a problem because this is in the midst of that longterm Construction Zone. Normally only two lanes get by. Northeast extension southbound about three miles south of that lansdale interchange. All lanes on the highway are blocked. As ive been reporting throughout the morning, that traffic is getting by on the shoulder. We have a delay of about three to four miles in this area. On the northeast extension southbound and sky force 10 zooms out a little bit and you can see how far that delay is going to go. A huge backup out there for drivers on the northeast extension. Again, its just about three miles south of that landdale interchange. Back to the maps right now. 309 is alternate if you need to get around. We do have problems on 309 as well. The traffic trouble this morning. Good morning, matt. Reporter good morning, bill. If you are heading out onextens uthbound lanes specifically, its going to be a rough ride at least right now. Lets give you a look here. This is about three miles south of the lansdale interchange. You can see right there they have that vehicle there on a tow truck. Now, what we understand is that vehicle hit a street sweeper about 5 45 this morning. The backup is about three miles long. And that street sweeper is just under an overpass here at morris street. Right now you see one lane is getting by but it is on the shoulder. That has been the case for the past 15, 20 minutes. But because that vehicle is on the tow truck now, we do expect that lane to reopen in the next few minutes. And this is a twolane highway right now and so were going to hopefully see that open up shortly. Jillian mele is joining us now how can people get around this if they are stuck in this mess . Tough one to get around. Typically the alternate is route 309. Thats what we say this morning. I will talk more about 309 in just a second. For now, go back to sky force image, im not sure if we can get back to that. Southbound side of the northeast extension southbound just past lansdale about three miles south of that interchange is where the accident happened and the backup is roughly about five miles right now. Its as you approach the exit for lansdale where we see the backup start to form. 309 southbound is your alternate route. However, in colmar there is an accident that happened earlier this morning thats still out there blocking the southbound lanes. Heres what you can expect. As you can see sky force is still over the scene and this backup with cars just crawling along right now. Two lanes in this longterm Construction Zone merging into one lane so that traffic can get by on the shoulder. Thats what were seeing right now. A line of vehicles crawling along on the southbound side of the northeast extension. Heres whats happening. Because of that small problem on route 309, well let this go as i talk to you about 309 so you can see how big this backup is. If you were to exit northeast extension at quakertown is where youll run into that problem on 309 i mentioned in colmar. This is exit for quakertown. This is exit for lansdale. Thats the problem on 309. Stay on the northeast extension or if you know someone out there that can exit at lansdale and take 309 southbound. A mix of problems out there this morning. Well keep you updated there. Thats not our only problem. This is 95 southbound approaching route 320. We have this accident blocking multiple lanes. One lane of traffic getting by there and a huge delay on 95 southbound as drivers make their way from the airport down to route 320 into delaware. Two very big problems out there this morning.
