The crews are right now still putting out hot spots. We go to sky force 10 which is above the scene, you may be able to see some persistent flames on the second floor and roof area. They had some difficulty in actually putting out the flames on the second floor and roof because there was a partial roof collapse and partial chimney collapse which gave way to a resurge of fire about a half hour ago. We were here when that happened. We have video of that partial chimney collapse. Just after 4 30 this morning, the fire crews got a call that a fire had broken out at this home on the 2200 block of 39th street. We are right on the cam den line. So fortunately, camden crews were quick to respond as well. When firefighters got here, they had an intense fire. But let me back up. This structure was listed in the records as being vacant. However, firefighters could not rely on that information. Despite the heavy flames, they went inside the house to see if anyone was inside. They found no one. There is a voluntary evacuation on the bayier island telling people to leave. Ferries off the island were full yesterday as people try to make their way inland. You can see there is definitely a rough surf here at the beach. Weve been talking about the dangers of rip currents. I talked to the gentleman before they got here. I said to them, did you hear about the warning . And about staying out of the water. They said, yeah, well, were going to give the a try. Well go into the water. We dont think were going to go that deep. So we have people that are going to still try to go into the water. Take a look at our video. Rip currents are created by waves energy thats pile up water along the shoreline. Experts say water piles up and rushes back. People are pulled away from the shore along with the water. Each year more than 100 people drown due to recurrence. And last sunday a 14yearold philadelphia boy drowned off the ninth street beach in ocean city. If you are caught in a rip current, stay calm. Dotry to swim back against the current. You will make yourself more tired. Swim parallel to the beach. Rip currents are pretty narrow. If youre able to get out of the current, you can have very little resistance to make you a back to the beach on an angle. People say we dont think it will be that bad. We may go in for a little bit. Wait and see. Hopefully it wont sob bad. We want to stress even if you think its all right, officials are saying up and down the east coast, stay out of the water. And this morning a question about the safety of food trucks and who is responsible for insuring that safety after a leaking propane tank caused the truck to explode. Here is the video. There are more than 300 food trucks licensed in philadelphia. While they inspect the food and equipment used for cooking, does it not inspect the propane tanks that most trucks use for cooking. A 2 a pack cigarette tax will help the Philadelphia School district cleared a major hurdle in harrisburg. The bill now goes to the state senate. The passage followed a two day lobbying effort ti state capital. This is one of the most critical votes in the history of the Philadelphia School district. We have to deliver the support to the School District of philadelphia so that, again, kids wouldnt we wouldnt have 41 children in a classroom in september. Now if the tax bill passes the state senate, it goes on to governors december who can is expected to sign it into law next tuesday. Now your nbc 10 first alert weather. More storms are moving through the area this morning. Western suburbs, very heavy rainfall. Possibly even hail with these storms that are moving through. Late this afternoon and this evening, another round of strong storms, possibly Severe Weather and heavy rainfall into tomorrow morning as now hurricane arthur comes up the coast. Were tracking the heavy rainfall. Chester county and look at that rainfall. There is potential for hail and the radar signature for hail in the area, you may see some hail with this storm as it moves through. You see the rain coming down. No hail in that live picture. It is a possibility with that storm that is moving off to the northeast. Well be moving into montgomery and bucks county as well.
