Lets get you back to that breaking news out of philadelphias olney neighborhood. A Violent Crime occurred there early this morning. Police are trying to figure out who stabbed a man and woman inside a home. Nbc 10s Monique Braxton is live with more. Reporter i can tell you, the motive still appears to be unclear as to what actually happened here. But we can tell you the end result. According to what police have just briefed us about. A 71yearold female, possibly stabbed as many as 15 times between the chest and the toes. A man around 54 years of age stabbed twice in the torso. Police tell us it does appear a front door screen was forced open on the first floor but theyre not sure if that was the clear motive. Police do tell us when they arrived, an 18yearold male was hosing blood down from the female victim and from the sidewalk. He is now at northwest detectives being questioned. Police also tell us they have found a kitchen knife with a 6 inch blade at the scene. I talked to neighbors. They tell us the female asked them to call police. Northwest detectives had just arrived in the 5900 block of 4th street. We also watched as Police Search the female victims mini van to see what they may find to give them clues as to what led to the multiple stabbing here. We also noticed several cats outside this house. Police describe this as a hoarders home. They say it will be difficult for them to get to the bottom of the motive because there is simply so much stuff, including cats, inside the home. Animal control is on the way. Live from olney, Monique Braxton. A house fire in camden leaves four people injured, including two Police Officers. The fire broke out at a home on cane avenue after 11 00 last night. Firefighters had to rescue a man trapped inside. In the video, you can see a firefighter being treated for smoke inhalation. The man they rescued is in the hospital in Critical Condition. Two Police Officers suffered smoke inhalation and were treated at the scene. Clues put out a fire overnight at an alloy company. The fire broke out around 12 3 this morning. No one was hurt. The rittenhouse rape suspect now in custody may have victimized another woman prior to saturday mornings assault. Milton garcia isc his name, accused of raping a 26yearold woman at her Center City Apartment early saturday morning. Hes charged with rape, robbery, burglary and kidnapping. Police are looking into whether garcia exposed himself to a 27yearold woman one hour before that rape occurreded in same area. Police tracked down garcia to his south philadelphia home and arrested him on monday. It took a lot of leg work, boots on the ground and talking to the neighbors and finding that location. He wasnt officially charged until yesterday. Garcia is being held without bail. The man accused of trying to kill a Bucks County Police officer has a preliminary hearing. Matthew miller is charged with attempted murder. Authorities say earlier this month he escaped a Work Release Program and tried to stab bensalem Police Officer michael jachimski. Prosecutors say gross got involved in one of the fights, punching a 14yearold girl her daughter was fighting. Gross faces suspension with intent to dismiss from the police force. New information on two gun range robberies in philadelphia, officers arrested this man, Jeffrey Chandler yesterday in new jersey. Theyve been looking for him for about weeks now. Police say chandler and a second man held up a man outside a gun range in Spring Garden on june 11th. The next day, the Police Believe the same pair robbed another man outside a different gun range in northeast philadelphia. Officers arrested the second suspect last week. Now from our delaware bureau, today governor jack markell signs a bill that gives the pant of health and social services the power to provide more of the drug known as narcan. Its used to reverse the effects of a drug overdose. They used the medication 300 times last year. The new bill would put narcan in the hands of friends and families of people addicted to heroin and morphine. Stay lawmakers will vote today on a relief package for the casinos. The senate was supposed to vote last night but they had to iron out lastminute issues. The casinos are hoping the state will slash the amount of revenue the state takes from casinos every year. They say if the state does not reduce its share of the take, the casinos will have trouble surviving in delaware. Today a group of state Civil Engineers will be at 30th street station and philadelphia to release its annual report card on pennsylvanias infrastructure. Roads, bridges, other things like that. The American Society of Civil Engineers report card covering 16 catptju qj finds the entire system is in need of repairs. Bridges and roads get the worse letter grades. B plus and b minus respectively. The money could come from the federal Highway Trust Fund which pays for almost half of the improvements to the interstate system and bridges in pennsylvania. That fund will run out of money by 2019 unless its overhauled. We do need to get the word out to the public and also were going to be meeting oneonone with some of our legislators. Lets get back to that breaking news out of philadelphias olney neighborhood. Police are investigating an extremely Violent Crime. A man and woman stabbed numerous times. Monique braxton, you sent an email to the newsroom saying you have new information on the condition of those two victims there. Thats right, chris. We have since learned that both victims are in Critical Condition over at einstein Medical Center. Let me show you the scene now. This is what neighbors here in olney are waking up to. Detectives from northwest walking through, questioning people. You see officers still guarding the scene. Investigators say a 71yearold female was stabbed as many as 15 times from her chest to her toes. A 54yearold was stabbed twice in the torso. Investigators also tell us it appears a back screen was forced open but right now, theyre not sure if thats related. That when Police Arrived here shortly after 4 30 this morning, they found an 18yearold male outside in the front of the home doing something questionable at the scene. When we arrived on location, the 18yearold neighbor was on the scene. He was right on the property squirting one of the victims with a hose prior to our arrival. So he is being interviewed by northwest detectives and northwest personnel are on the scene processing the scene. Its one of the worst hoarder horses ive seen in my long career. Pro session the scene will be difficult. Reporter police tell us there are pathways through an extremely worse hoarding situation in this home. They also say there are several cats and kittens littered throughout the home. Investigators tell us theyve recovered a kitchen knife with a 6 inch blade. Weve been talking to neighbors who say the female came outside and asked them to call police. They also say the man and woman are not considered a couple. They are Close Friends but they are also just baffled by what has happened here in the 5900 block of 4th street. Well continue to monitor the crime scene and have more for you. Crews put out a fire at a metal alloy plan in the montgomery county. Nbc 10 was at the chem alloy company. Nobody was hurt. A house fire in camden left four people injured including a firefighter and two Police Officers. Nbc 10s katy zachry is live in camden where investigators are still trying to figure out exactly what caused that fire. Katy . Reporter theyre investigating the cause of this house fire, cchris, that broke out on the 600 block of cane avenue just after 11 00. Lets look at our video. Our nbc 10 photographer was on scene a short time after and he shot this exclusive video of the camden firefighter being treated in the back of an ambulance for smoke inhalation. That firefighter wasnt the only one injured at the scene. Two metro Police Officers were also injured. They received minor injuries from smoke inhalation. They were transported to Cooper UniversityMedical Center. Ive reached out to the Police Department and the hospital for an update on the officers conditions but Neither Agency is releasing that information at this time. There was a fourth victim. There was an individual living inside that home, though, people tell us that home is considered vacant. Still, this individual, a man, he was very gravely injured. He is recovering here at Cooper UniversityMedical Center. But still listed in Critical Condition. Again, the cause of this fire, how it started, thats still under investigation this morning. Reporting live in camden, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. Happening today, theres a court date for a Chester County piano teacher accused of sexually abusing students. Anton fomin faces a preliminary hearing. Investigators say he sexually asauled three 6yearolds and showed nude picks to three other students. Hes being held on 300,000 bail. In Delaware County, police are warning people to beware of a woman with a story about a lost dog. Police in ridley township says that woman has been lynched to a rash of recent burglaries in milmont park and woodland. Investigators say she knocks on doors. If no one answers and the door is unlocked, she goes on inside and takes stuff. If someone does answer the door, she uses the lost dog story. Governor Chris Christie will talk about the need for pension and Health Benefits reform at a town hall meeting in Camden County. Its at the atlantic Avenue School later this morning. Meantime, a second bridge investigation is being linked to new jersey governor Chris Christies administration. The Associated Press reports that the feds are looking at whether the funding broke the law by misrepresenting bond documents from the Port Authority of new york and new jersey. All sides have declined to comment. Christies administration is being investigated as you know for lane closures at the George Washington bridge. A Bank Robbery Suspect is under arrest after he tried to escape on a septa bus. The guy held up a Wells Fargo Bank yesterday, got away with 500 bucks and then he jumped on to a bus. Police surrounded the bus, blocked all traffic and arrested the suspect. A second murder trial for Aaron Hernandez is set for may of next year. He was in chart yesterday to hear murder charges against him in the deaths of two men in boston in 2012. In a separate case, hernandez is going to trial this october for the murder of a semipro football player. Hes pleaded not guilty in both cases. Six people are still in the hospital in miami after a deadly shooting we brought to you as breaking news yesterday morning. Police say a seventh person is being cared for by family. Two men were killed when two other men got out of an suv and opened fire outside of a miami apartment building. Police have made no arrests at this point. We are still following breaking news in philadelphias olney section. A man and woman are in Critical Condition right now after being stabbed multiple times. Nbc 10s Monique Braxton has been there since the story broke, bring us up to speed, monique. Reporter in the past couple of minutes animal control has arrived on the scene. You can see the cats outside. Police tell us as many as 20 cats are inside and must be removed. Look closely now on the sidewalk just behind those cats. Youll see what investigators describe as a kitchen knife with a 6 inch blade. It remans here at the scene. Look at the video weve captured in the past two hours on the scene. Investigators say ac 71yearo female was stabbed as manies a15 times from her chest to her toes. A 54yearold man was stabbed twice in the torso. Both are in Critical Condition at einstein Medical Center. Investigators say it does appear a back screen was forced open. Theyre not sure if that is related to this Violent Crime. Police tell us they were called here about 4 30. They found an 18yearold male hosing down the female victim and the sidewalk. He is now being questioned by northwest detectives. Weve been talking to neighbors who have come outside to go to work and waking up. They tell us they are baffled by what has happened here. At the home they describe as being inhabited by two friends. Another story were following, new from overnight, a house fire in camden that left four people injured including a firefighter and two Police Officers. Nbc 10s katy zachry has that story live from camden. Hi, chris. Yes, investigators are still trying to pin point how that fire began. Take a look at our video. It started soon after 11 00 and shortly thereafter nbc 10 photographer was on the scene getting video of a camden firefighter being treated in the back of an ambulance for smoke inhalation. Two metro camden Police Officers were also injured. They were taken to Cooper UniversityMedical Center for minor injuries, smoke inhalat n inhalation. All morning ive been trying to get an update on their conditions. Neither the Police Department or the hospital is forthcoming with that information. An individual that was found inside that house is listed in Critical Condition. He has critical injuries. He was found by firefighters inside the home even though the home was vacant.
