A flight out of philadelphia from europe was diverted to canada because someone died on board the plane. American Airlines Flight 700 was traveling from Philadelphia International to frankfurt germany. It was diverted as you see on the map to gandor airport in newfoundland. Someone on board the plane died of a heart attack. Now the crew the people on the plane may be stuck there for a while because of rules about rest for the crew. The shootings happened from the northern neighborhood to the central sections. Nbc 10s katy zachry is live with more on the suspects in all of these cases. Katy tell us what happened . Reporter hi tracy. Investigators are in the neighborhood piecing together what happened. So theyre not commenting beyond that as far as what led to the shootings. They dotel me no arrests have been made. Lets go to our video. The most recent shooting we had of the evening happened in germantown. It was on east walnut lane. A mother of two was injured after a stray bullet hit her home shattering glass which injured her. Earlier in the evening two men were shot along frankfurt avenue in kensington. One of the victims was shot in the head. He died at Temple University hospital. The other deadly shooting happened in West Philadelphia. Police say two people were shot at a scene by someone who was in a car who drove away after pulling the trigger. One of the victims from that scene a 36yearold man died after arriving at the hospital. There are active shooting investigations in four neighborhoods. Germantown, West Philadelphia north philadelphia and kensington. Im going to check back in with police in the next little bit to try and get an update. In addition to eliminating undergraduate tuition, sanders says the bill would lower Student Loan Debt and bring down are interest rates. One week after the deadly amtrak Train Derailment in Port Richmond the union is calling on the railroad to put a second engineer on trains. The union says having two engineers would be a safety backup. Youll remember Brandon Bastian was alone when it deraltd last week. Theres new video showing the train seconds before the derailment last week but that video isnt being released because its part of the ntsbs investigation. That investigation into what went wrong could take a year or longer weve learned. Ntsb is examining the wreckage documenting it. Theyre investigating crew performance and the type of injuries sustained by the more than 200 people on board. Dr. Derek griffith was one of eight passengers who died in the derailment. His son says hes paying close attention to the investigation and wants to know what went wrong. He was a single parent. Now the conductor on the trail, emilio vonsecka has yet to speak to investigators. Hes hired an attorney and hes filing suit against amtrak.
