Someone shot a killed a delivery man in philadelphias crescentville neighborhood. This Morning Police are still looking for the gunman. It all started around 11 00 last night in crescentville. The shooting happened on north creek drive. The victim crashed his car on adams drive. Matt delucia is following the latest on the investigation. Matt . Reporter chris and tracy, the victim was pronounced dead on arrival at Einstein Medical Center last night. Just behind me you can see the car there. The victim crashed that car into a utility pole while he was trying to get away. The 49yearold man was making a delivery of chinese food to the 500 area of hill creek park. While he was in the car or just getting out, 12 gunshots were fired in his direction. One of them hit him in the shoulder. He tried to speed away. He crossed adams avenue and went up the embankment and went into the pole. Police and paramedics found that man unconscious inside the car. Right now were not sure if the victim was robbed. Were not even sure if the victim had exited his vehicle when he was shot. We believe he was either shot while sitting in the drivers seat of the vehicle or possibly shot just outside of the vehicle. A lot of questions this morning. Police you can see are Still Holding the scene, and in addition to trying to figure out the motive there are other challenges facing investigators. Philadelphia Police Arrested a second suspect wanted for shooting an officer. The officer is in stable condition when he approached two drug suspects around 10 15 last night when one of the men shot him. Nbc 10s katy zachry is live at Presbyterian Hospital where were told the officer is in good spirits. Katy what more are the police saying . Reporter the officer is dan yet costick. He is recovering here where he was brought late last night. We are told he will be okay. Again, he was brought to the hospital late last night after being shot in the arm by a suspect. The officer and his partners had been on bike patrol when they approached a van investigating one inside for possible drug activity. The van took off but a little later officer costic did find the man in question on a nearby street. At that time theyre having a brief discussion, costic was still on his bike. The male turns to him and says quote, i dont want to have to do this but then he fires at officer costic striking him in his right arm. Reporter and officer costic returned fire hitting the suspect at least once. The suspect ran away and was found a short time later and taken to hanneman hospital. Overnight a second suspect in this case was found arrested and that man was found with a shotgun. Police are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
