All of this for passengers sitting on board, they say they were confused as to what was going on. Lets take a look at the video. Lufthansa flight lh427 took off around 5 45, bound for frankfurt, germany. A malfunction was detected with thec landing gear. It would not retract back gnat plane. The passengers tell nbc 10, the pilots tried to raise the gear but with no success, so they burned and dumped fuel, we just confirmed. The dumping as the plane is flying, coming out of both of the wings. Thats burning and dumping in progress. Anxious moments. 5,000 feet above chester county. If the strike had lasted into today, you would have 60,000 people scrambling to get to work. 60,000 people who rely on septas Regional Rail system every weekday morning, scrambling to find a way into work and home from work because the Regional Rail system would not be working. Fortunately, that is not the situation because president obama this weekend stepped in. Lets look at our video. 400 workers on saturday were striking and they are fortunately this morning back on the job. They were part of septas engineering and electrical unions who were striking. They spent the last four to five years without a contract. The sticking points, wage increases and pension contributions. The strike lasted less than 24 hours because governor tom core bet asked the president to create a board which in essence mediates between the two sides. Once the president ial emergency board was created, the workers who were striking had to return to the job. They did so yesterday. The trains ran yesterday without incident.
