The house where the fire started collapsed. Witnesses described the frantic rush to make sure his neighbors were safe. We started getting whoever out of the buildings, out of the houses. We got one neighbor out. She was an elderly woman. She didnt really want to leave but the fire was engolfulfing her home. Crews faced an extra challenge because there were no hydrants on the block. Detectives in south jersey are asking for the publics help to solve a deadly hit and run accident. What are investigators telling you . They fanned out a short time ago around the accident sight looking for new information and new leads. Late at night on april 9th someone hit and killed Christopher Dean. He was found not too far from his apartment. Medics rushed him over to our lady of lords hospital but he died a short time later. The youngest of five siblings. His sister says the loss has devastated her family. We learned that mercy and love is what carries us through these things. Since this has happened weve been leaning on our faith. Leaning on knowing that hes at peace now. Reporter the family is asking anyone with information to come forward, so are detective. They say they canvassed this area before with no luck. This time they hope to have more success. Well talk about their Police Investigation ongoing. Another warm day throughout our area. Showers and storms are headed our way. Theres a lot of sun to the north and the south of the philadelphia area where theres some showers already in pennsylvania. Some moving into the central part of the state. Not especially heavy. This stuff over by the great lakes not especially heavy either. With the heating of the day some of this should be intensifying. Here is the future cast as we go to 2 00 this afternoon. These are just scattered around. Not everybody is seeing rain this afternoon but some can see some pretty heavy rain. There it is by 4 00 already moving past philadelphia. Thats the first little burst then theres another one that comes down in the evening. This is after 7 00 tonight. Once again, you dont see a whole lot of rain across the area north of philadelphia. After 10 00, things do quiet down. We need the rain and some folks are going to get some decent rain but not nearly enough and its not going to be as widespread. What about the threat of Severe Weather. Its not a real high threat today considering what can happen at this time of the year. Perhaps some high winds in parts of the area. As we go through the day these temperatures that are in 70s now are headed into the 80s again. Some cooler weather and more on the timing of that rain with the seven day in just a few minutes. A man thats in Critical Condition after someone shot him on north 9th street in hunting park just before morning. Police are looking for the shooter. Philadelphia police blocked off the sidewalk just as a safety precaution. No one was hurt. Investigators are looking for the cause of this house fire in north philadelphia. It broke out on north wood stock around 3 00 this morning opinion everyone managed to make it out the house safely. Later today Chester County officials are expected to release the name of three women killed in a mobile home fire. This fire broke out. Two adults and two children were able to escape. The cause is under investigation but its not believed to be suspicious. We learned overnight that firefighters have finally put out a string of brush fires. Authorities believe the fires were intentionally set. They still dont know who is responsible. Closing arguments are under way in the corruption trial of six former philadelphia narcotics officers. Only one of the accused officers testified and he denied charges that his squad regularly stole cash and drugs from suspects over a period of six years. Prosecution built its case on testimony of suspected drug dealers and one exofficer who pleaded guilty. We have new information this morning from a laundromat robbery. Today detectives in south jersey have returned to the scene of a deadly hit and run hoping to get new clues about who hit a 36yearold, Christopher Dean and then drove off. The night in question the victim got into an argument with two men and they sped away from here but they have interviewed the men and checked the truck they were driving and they are clear. Its not camp thats expensive. Its not the camp part. Its the interpreter who can be 25 an hour or the aids that can be 15 an hour. The scholarship is covering all of those things plus camp. Were sending the kids to camp with their support person which parents dont often get these experiences for their kids. Kids like henry dont generally ever experience summer camp. We really need the rain. Theres been very dry not a single measurable. 1 of an inch in almost two weeks. The dry weather is coming back. This is our shot of getting some rain or were going to go another several days with no rain. It will be good baseball weather later on this week and weekend. The phil lyly lylies come back to town. The wind is fairly light. The humidity is higher. Thats why we dont have the same fire danger that we had yesterday. 66 in mount pocono. Its in the mid70s across much of the area. It is up to 80 degrees Atlantic City international. 79 in dover in delaware and the beaches are pretty warm too because of a west wind. Were pretty close to where we were at this time yesterday. Maybe a little bit below that. Well see more clouds and there will be some showers around. We may not get quite as warm as yesterday but lot of places will still get to 80 as long as the showers dont get in there. This is racing across pennsylvania. Its not that heavy. At least not at the moment but its going to be moving into warmer air. Expect that to strengthen a bit. Back across the great lakes some of that activity will increase. Speaking of increasing got a lot of increasing moisture off the coast of florida. A lot of computer models suggest it may be a Tropical Storm that develops by the end of the week. It would be called anna. Does not look like it will be coming up the coast. As far as the Severe Weather threat today its not especially high even though a cold front is coming with possible thunderstorms. Obviously, there could be some lightning and some gusty winds but the risk of damage are relatively low, the way it looks at this point. As we go through the afternoon here comes the isolated showers and storms and you can see it knocks the temperature down where it hits. Other areas dont get it stay into the 80s. Then theres a break and another area comes through. The models are generally showing it partsfarther to the south. The area thats been the driest that needs the rain the most make it very very little out of this if anything. As we go to tomorrow the wind is going to shift. Its going to start coming in off the ocean. We could see a few showers around. You can see theyre generally on the light side but with that cloud cover and the east wind the temperature does not get anywhere near 80 degrees. It will later on during the week and over the weekend. That warm air is just going to build right back and we can see the temperatures for mothers day weekend. Were into the low 80s this afternoon. Scattered afternoon showers. Maybe a thunderstorm but not everybody is going to see the rain. Obviously you want to take the umbrellas with you because there is that threat.
