Overnight, political analysts have been weighing in on abrahams fainting. I asked her about that. Some of the political analysts are asking that you release your medical records. Will you do that . I dont even have any medical records. I go for annual checkups im big on mammography, i speak about that race for the cure susan komen. Im perfectly fit. Abraham was one of four mayoral candidates appearing before a coalition called build philly. The 300 who gathered listened to answers from the candidates regarding the environment, infrastructure and the tax rebate. Investigators say Daniel Milowicki sexually assaulted a young woman after luring her to his home under the pretense of a modeling photography session. Were seeing colder temperatures, much colder than yesterday, and also on and off showers as we head to the rest of today. Temperatures, 44 degrees in philadelphia. 44 in pottstown. 42 in Atlantic City. Temperatures in dover at 45 degrees. Even in the 30s in the poconos, but couple that with our wind speeds, which are gusting above 20 Miles Per Hour and our feels like temperature is at 26 degrees in the poconos. At 39 in allentown. It feels like it is 37 degrees in philadelphia. And 34 in Atlantic City. So it is going to be cold throughout the entire day. Cold and wet. And were already starting to see light rain moving into parts of the poconos and also pushing into Lancaster County. As we head into the rest of today, well continue to see that on and off shower activity but it is going to remain light. Thats the good news. Our temperatures are also going to stay down. Even by noon youll notice some of the scattered showers starting to push into pottstown, wilmington portions of millville and the poconos. Thats going to continue even into our afternoon hours and, again, as we head into thursday plus, we factor in thunderstorms as we push into friday and we have an unsettled wet week ahead of us over the next couple of days. We wont dry out until we head into your weekend. Thats when our temperatures will recover. As we head into thursday again, were going to see similar conditions to what were seeing today. New this morning, Staff Members in the Easton Area School district are mourning a bus driver who was crushed to death by a car. 61yearold bonny novack worked in the Transportation Department for three years. Police say she was pinned against a parked car at the districts bus depot last night. The depot is next to Tracy Elementary School in Palmer Township. According to authorities, novack was trying to stop her car as it was rolling downhill toward another vehicle. A coworker found her about an hour later. This morning classes were delayed for two hours while the district held a meeting for employees in the Transportation Department. The district we provided support this morning to all of the drivers, had counselors available to talk with them and really just process their grief and their loss as a whole group and then individually with counseling support. Police told us they found the car in neutral and emergency brake was not engaged. It will be back at the bus depot today to continue their investigation. In Philadelphia Police arrested a driver who tried to run from the scene of a crash in kensington overnight. Investigators say the driver hit a big pothole at the intersection of cumberland and tulip streets, lost control and crashed into a parked car. The parked car smashed into two other vehicles. Police say they were warning cones around the pothole. Two people were hurt when a car crashed into april abandoned building. This happened around 11 30 last night at market and wood streets in bristol, bucks county. Police say the car glanced off the porch of a house and smashed into the building across the street. Were told the victims would be okay. No word yet on why the driver lost control of the vehicle. Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fire inside an Apartment Building in north philadelphia. First brought this to you as breaking news this morning. Crews were on the scene on north 11th street. Officials believe the fire started inside a trash shoot. And the firefighters had to deal with heavy smoke, otherwise no one was hurt. And this morning, police are trying to figure out why a man shot his father in the head while the family was driving on the skookle expressway. Investigators say a 22yearold man from philadelphia was in the back seat and shot his father while driving the car. It happened during the rush hour near the conshohocken exit. The father is in critical but stable condition. Thats appalling and im stunned right now to know that thats the reason why the traffic was so bad. Drivers were stuck in traffic for hours after police shut down the westbound lanes of the schuylkill expressway to investigate. Well take a look. Philadelphia police say this burgundy van caught on Surveillance Video is the clearest evidence they have in the kidnapping of a Center City Jewelry store worker. Investigators say robbers beat and tasered the victim as the van left the parking garage on Chestnut Street on saturday. The bandits demanded security codes to the Jewelry Store where the victim worked before releasing her. Right now, coast guard crews off the coast of new jersey are discussing the best way to remove a commercial fishing boat that ran aground this morning. No one was hurt during the incident on Point Pleasant beach in ocean county. Officials say the boat ran aground just after 5 00 this morning. Three people were on board. The boat is not damaged and the coast guard says there is no pollution risk to the public. Crews will continue to monitor the situation for the remainder of the day. And in the Atlantic City casino crisis city council is expected to approve rezoning for the old showboat casino so Stockton University can use it as a satellite campus. They bought the showboat but disagreed to sell it to straub because of an agreement requiring the property be used as a casino. If the rezoning is approved it would prohibit showboat from being used as a casino and designate stockton as an education related developer. The move could still be challenged though in court. Also on the ac boardwalk, the revel deal became official yesterday. Straub closed on this sale paying 82 million for the casino hotel. It cost about 2. 5 billion to build. Glen straub sealed the deal after four earlier attempts to sell revel fell through. His lawyer says straub went to reopen wants to reopen the casino this summer. And happening today, parishioners who are trying to save their church from demolition will meet with the president of the Philadelphia City council. Darrell clarke is asking the archdiocese to hold off on tearing down the 133yearold church in fishtown. He says parishioners have appealed to the vatican for help and have yet to receive a formal response. Also happening later today, Lower Merion Police and township officials will discuss Community Relations report on policing and race. Tonights meeting in ardmore will follow up on this video shot by a neighbor showing police detaining two africanamerican men shoveling snow. Soldier is dead after being shot by a soldier from afghanistan. Officials say the soldiers were at a compound of a provincial governor when the soldier suddenly opened fire killing one and injuring at least two others. Nato is confirming one of its soldiers died during the attack as well. Reports show the shooter was shot dead immediately after firing on the troops. And this morning, protests are happening in South Carolina where a white Police Officer is now charged with murder for shooting an africanamerican man as he ran away. This is an operation to keep a community down. Oppressed, brutalized silent. And now we are awake and we are screaming no more no more. No more you can see the demonstrators are rallying outside the Police Station in North Charleston. This is officer Michael Slager appearing via video, charged with murder. It happened saturday morning in North CharlestonSouth Carolina, a traffic stop, a brief scuffle, and then this. Walter scott shot at eight times as he was running away. He had some Child Support on him and i believe he didnt want to go to jail again. He just ran away. Reporter officer Michael Slager says he felt threatened. Shots fired. Subject is down. Hes down. Reporter the video shows the officer picking up an object after the shooting and dropping it at scotts feet. We have got 343 Police Officers in our department. Meanwhile, happening now, jurors are in their second day of deliberations in the Boston Marathon bombing trial. Dzhokhar tsarnaev is accused of planning and executing the 2013 bombings. The defense team however, claims dzhokhars now dead older brother was the mastermind behind the attack. Also happening now, an arraignment for two illinois men accused of supporting the terror group isis. Both men are charged with conspireing to provide Material Support and other resources to members of isis. Investigators say one of the suspects is a member of the national guard. And more severe storms are expected in the middle of the country after yesterdays violent weather left damage widespread. A new study finds Many MedicarePatients Experience delays when it comes to surgery for the deadly skin cancer. A large study of medicare patients found 22 had to wait longer than six weeks for surgery. 8 waited longer than three months. Most doctors recommend surgery within four to six weeks after diagnosis. Delays could cause further illness or even death. And new this morning, traffic deaths in pennsylvania hit an all time low last year. Penndot released new numbers this morning. They showed nearly 2,000 people were killed in car crashes in 2014. Thats the lowest number since the department started keeping records. 87 years ago. Drunk driving deaths were also 14 lower compared to the year before. The report isnt all positive. There was an increase in the number of people who died in crashes involving utility poles, Drowsy Driving and older drivers. Thats the South Carolina town where a white Police Officer faces a murder charge for shooting an africanamerican man in the back. Reporter protests and outrage over the shooting of an unarmed black man in South Carolina by a white Police Officer now charged with murder. This video shot by a bystander recorded the fatal confrontation saturday. On tape this officer Michael Slager firing eight shots at walter scott as he fled following a traffic stop. The family of the 50yearold victim says they are thankful the tape surfaced. It would have never come to light. They would have swept it under the rug, like they did many others. Reporter but it was viewing the tape that prompted loichlt eded Law Enforcement officials to file charges against the officer. When youre wrong, youre wrong. And if you make a bad decision dont care if youre behind the shield or just a citizen on the street, you have to live by that decision. Reporter slager made his First Court Appearance on tuesday and is being held without bail. The police veteran says he felt threatened and scott tried to grab his stun gun. Shots fired. Subject is down. He grabbed my taser. Reporter but the video appears to show a much different story. Somebody was watching. Hallelujah. There was a witness that came forward with the video. And the initial reports were wrong. Reporter a video that led to an arrest of a Police Officer now charged with murder. Mark barger, nbc 10 news. And the National Transportation safety board says it has no immediate word on what caused a small plane to crash in Central Illinois killing seven people. The passengers were returning from the ncaa Basketball Championship when the plane went down near the bloomington airport yesterday morning. Among the victims, Illinois State universitys head basketball coach and deputy athletics director. They say there was fog yesterday, but it is not clear if that was a factor in the crash. Today, iran is sending a naval destroyer and another vessel to waters near yemen. A military official says the ships would help protect naval routes in the region. This comes as saudi led air strikes are targeting shiite rebels in yemen known as houthis. The Group Released this video that appears to show the results of those air strikes. You can see a huge crater and wrecked building. Critics say iran backs the houthis, but the country and rebels deny any direct military assistance. U. S. Defense secretary Ash Carter Says an Al Qaeda Branch is makeing great gains amid the chaos in yemen. He made the comments in tokyo. About 40 of flights across france are canceled today because of a strike by air Traffic Controllers. Air france says long haul flights wont be affected. A pair of hong kong parents are behind bars after their teen daughter jumped to her death from a window inside their high rise apartment. Both parents are suspected of ill treatment of their two daughters. An investigation revealed that the victim and her 14yearold sister had never been to school and they dont have any identity documents. Officials think their mother moved to hong kong as a domestic helper and is suspected of overstaying her visa. In california Good Samaritan helped foil a robbery. Watch this video from sunday when the man in black lunges at the cashier at the gas station. Seconds later, the customer in the red shirt leaps into action. He and the cashier start throwing punches forcing the robber to back down. And then the Good Samaritan puts him into a choke hold until Police Arrive eight minutes later. During a phone interview, he said he was glad to help bring the robber to justice. Some culinary students from Drexel University are helping Cancer Patients one healthy meal at a time. Nbc 10s katy zachry went into the kitchen to watch the students in action. Reporter these culinary students are taking comfort foods and creating healthy alternatives so that people with cancer can enjoy them. Inside Drexel Universitys food lab, there is more happening than just cooking for class. These students are making recipes for Cancer Patients and survivors. It is very easy to follow a recipe and cook something delicious. It is much harder to problem solve and apply that knowledge. Reporter thats exactly what culinary arts professor Jonathan Deutch asks of his students. This semester they started creating recipes for the nonprofit cook for your life. Theyre healthy, low fat, often low calorie alternatives to comfort foods that Cancer Patients can enjoy. The students then teach their recipes at the hope lodge in cheltenham where many patients stay during treatment. It is good. It is a lot of fun. Were happy to help. Well in addition to the concert that were playing this weekend, which will be a program of movie music, famous music from famous movies were also going to be showing some of the examples of my hobby, which is photography. So many of my photos will be in the lobby. When people arrive they can see what i do when im not on the podium conducting. That is picture perfect. Shots from paris. There is venice. I was in venice this past summer. So when i travel i like to take my camera. Florence. Wow. Tell us about your love of photography. How this, you know the genesis of this how long not that long. I started doing it for several years now. I like to travel. And used to take snapshots, but i wanted to you know get better at it. As i got better at it i really enjoyed it a lot. And it enhanced my travel and now i enjoy my trips that much more. I take more time to really enjoy the sights around me because of the photography. Are there plans to display more of your works at future shows . Well see how this goes. Im very kind of modest about this is my hobby. I dont put on display what i do as a conductor. This has been something i do as fun. This is the first time ive ever you know kind of put this out there in front of the public and say look what i can do. Well see what people have to say about it. Well see what the reaction is. If they like it ill show them some more. Looking at the pictures i think the reaction my guess is people will want to know if they can buy some of these works. If they do, were going to offer them up and were going to use the funds to go to our Educational Programs at the philly pops put on. They can and their money will go to a good cause. Fantastic. Friday night, saturday afternoon, sunday afternoon at kimmel you know all the great music from great movies everything from gone with the wind to pirates of the caribbean and sound of music and avatar and everything in between. I missed the great music and the great the music, sometimes they played during intermission, when movies had intermission. The philly pops performed the sounds of the Silver Screen with epic hollywood soundtracks this friday through sunday at the kimmel centers verizon hall in center city philadelphia. It is still an unsettled wet and stormy week for us. And these temperatures are going to stick around not just for today, but as we head into tomorrow. We will start to dry out as we head into saturday and sunday. Live look outside now, you see the gray skies for philadelphia mostly cloudy skies, so were not seeing rainfall right now. But on and off showers will continue throughout today. Temperatures at 44 degrees, feels like temperature, 38 degrees. So another cold day on tap for us. Out of the east northeast and wind gusts up to 23 Miles Per Hour. Current temperatures throughout the rest of the region at 34 in trenton. 42 in mount holly. Low 40s in Atlantic City. Temperatures right now in stone harbor at 43. Feels like temperature at 38 degrees for philadelphia. 37 in pottstown. 39 in allentown. 26 in the poconos. And feels like temperature in dover at 38. We expect our wind speeds to continue to gust throughout most of today, heading into the afternoon and evening. Well start to see our wind speet spooed speeds subside in our overnight hours on thursday. A breezy cold and with wet day for us. Our satellite radar shot shows mostly cloudy skies and also a few scattered showers starting to move just to the north of allentown into the poconos. And also into parts of philadelphia, dover and the southern parts of delaware. So here is where were seeing the scattered showers near pottstown right now. Reading staying dry at this time. Then closer to the south of dover is where were also seeing another batch of isolated showers. Heading into the rest of your early afternoon, well continue to see the light rainfall move through from west to east. And then well see it picking up in intensity as we head into thursday afternoon and late evening hours, closer to 11 00 p. M. Thats when well see more of a moderate rainfall coming down tomorrow evening. And thats not the end of it. Well see another round as we head into friday. And this time by friday evening were tracking the possibility of thunderstorms. You can see this is a lot more organized as we get into friday. Our temperatures are going to go back up into the 70s which will help fuel some of the thunderstorms. You want to be very careful heading home from work thursday night. As we head into saturday well start to see more clearing. And well see plenty of sunshine for saturday and sunday. If you are still heading out to the phillies game, well see wind speeds out of the northeast, 10 to 15.
