Now to belgium, authorities detained 13 people there and two people were arrested in france in an antiterror sweep following yesterdays shootout. Just before that, the pair observed a moment of silence in honor of all 17 victims. Family, friends, and fans said farewell to the editor in chief of Charlie Hebdo this morning. Funeral services were held at a paris suburb for the editor better known by his nickname charb. He was best known for defending the magazines decisions to run cartoons mocking the muslims prophet muhammad. Meantime the u. S. Is sending about 400 troops to syria to train rebels to defeat isis militants. That training is expected to begin in early spring. A tragic fall or something else. A Temple University student fell eight stories to her death injuring a woman below. The temple freshman, who died, was identified as rebecca kim. She was visiting students at the university of the arts dorm building at 16th and chestnut around 6 00 yesterday. Police say she may have been trying to take pictures on a window ledge when she fell and landed on a woman who was walking home. That woman is hospitalized with broken vertebrae and missing teeth. Thanks. Good morning. A cold and windy day for us as we push into your friday. Our first weather headline as we head into the start of the weekend. We are going to see very cold temperatures on saturday morning so keep that in mind as youre making your plans. Sunday, rain is expected for most of the day. Ill show you what that looks like on our future weather. For philadelphia right now, mix of sun and clouds. 40 degrees, humidity at 47 . Wind out of the westnorthwest at 15 Miles Per Hour but were seeing wind gusts throughout the area upwards of 35 Miles Per Hour, and it feels like its 32 degrees, so its going to be a cold day today. Our current temperature is at 31 in the poconos, 37 in trenton, 42 in bensalem. If youre with us in mt. Holly, 38 degrees, 41 in Atlantic City and 40 degrees in stone harbor but it feels a lot colder than that. Looking at other parts of our region for the suburbs, 39 degrees here in potstown 41 in blue bell low 40s in northeast philly and closer to the shore, temperatures in avalon at 40 degrees and 42 in dover. Feelslike temperature, 17 in the poconos. 30 degrees in allentown, feeling just like 30 degrees in trenton. Same thing, low 30s in Atlantic City. And the reason why is were seeing these sustained wind speeds moving at 15 Miles Per Hour in philadelphia sustained at 18 in allentown, 24 in mt. Pocono 18 in dover. Our wind gusts are a little more impressive gusting up to 28 32 in redding up to 36 Miles Per Hour in mt. Pocono and 31 in allentown. Satellite radar shows a mix of sun and clouds here and we point out whats happening in the poconos, a few snow flurries starting to move into that region. And we could see the flurries drifting closer to the south. Closer to 4 00 5 00 i95 corridor, the northern part of delaware, we could see a few snow flurries in that area but it will be short lived and our temperatures will be all about freezing so were not expecting any accumulation. Saturday is going to be nice and dry, plenty of sunshine but a cold start to the morning. We look to the south where all this moisture comes up. This is a fastmoving system but we are going to see rainfall from about 7 00 8 00 all the way through your morning hour picking up in intensity, more of a moderate heavy rainfall. Dover stretching into philadelphia right around 10 00 a. M. And then the rain continues even as we head into the rest of your afternoon and early evening hours. By 7 00 we could see most of the moisture offshore. Mostly cloudy conditions expected still for sunday night and heading into monday we are going to see more of a mix of sun and clouds. In terms of our future temperatures, by 1 00 p. M. , close to 40 degrees so, thats an average day for us, but you have to factor in the wind speeds, its going to feel a lot colder than that. 36 by 4 00 p. M. In allentown and as we head into the rest of tonight, if youre heading out for dinner our temperatures are going to drop off quickly. So back down to the low 30s. Its going to feel like the mid20s. If youre heading out to dinner tonight and then pushing into tomorrow right around 7 00 a. M. 8 00 a. M. Well start off in the teens. 19 degrees in philadelphia 18 in trenton, only going to be 15 degrees in allentown. So very cold start to your weekend. Today windy and cold conditions expected.
