It started on bypass road in Mannington Township not far from memorial hospital. Investigators are trying to figure out why the man did it and if he had a weapon. Police tell us no one was hurt. Delaware state police need your help identifying a suspect who burglarized a home in smyrna earlier this month. They say the man broke into a home on cedar county in the holly Hills Estates between 7 00 a. M. And 7 00 p. M. On tuesday december 9th. If you have any information call delaware state police. Were not going to see it tomorrow or much of it wednesday either, so hope you got to enjoy the first couple hours of the day. The clouds are starting to increase across much of the area right now and well be seeing a lot of clouds during the afternoon. Look at that coming up from the south, and with that there is also some rain. Parts of delaware getting into the rain already. Very, very light so far. Some of it not even reaching the ground. But theres more back farther to the south. Not the heaviest stuff. The heaviest rain is going to spread offshore. Were just talking about light rain as we go into the afternoon and evening. Its 31 in the poconos, so it is below freezing there. So we have to watch those temperatures but its well above freezing elsewhere. The problem is the temperatures really arent going to be rising a whole lot during the day today, and if anything theyre going to be going down. So the clouds thicken up as we go through the afternoon. The temperature holds steady or even falls a little bit, and the rain starts to spread through the area, and it looks like a fairly damp night across the region. On his Instagram Page he wrote, they take one of ours, lets take two of theirs. He also wrote, im putting wings on pigs today. Investigators believe brinsley was motivated by anger towards Police Following the recent grand jury decisions in ferguson around new york. Investigators say brinsley had a long rap sheet including 15 arrests. On 28yearold he shot a former girlfriend in maryland and then came to new york with the intention of attacking police. He later took his own life. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey is speaking out after the deadly officer shootings in new york. He was recently named cochair of president obamas task force on 21st century policing. In the wake of the police shootings, the commissioner is asking his officers to be vigilant, mer sure ed measured overreact. He said thats how his officers reacted when a man showed up and began firing at officers. No officers were hurt. Commissioner ramsey telling us hes been concerned about the recent protenss in recent weeks and the Ripple Effect they could have. Police say it was peaceful and there were no arrests. In cleveland demonstrators took to the streets to protest the death of a 12yearold boy who police shot and killed last month. A group of protesters from ferguson, missouri, came to the city as well. No one was arrested. Meantime, there was a vigil at the park last night where tamir rice was killed. An autopsy confirmed the boy was killed by a gunshot wound to the torso. Meanwhile, investigators are looking into the cause of a fire at a Halfway House in camden. Flames broke out in the building at magnolia avenue at 11 30 last night. Everyone made it out safely. In delaware a firefighter is recovering after he was injured in a fire in wilmington. It broke out at the Valley Run Apartments around 9 30 last night. Part of the property partially collapsed. All the crews were ordered out of the building. 12 families have been displaced. One person went to the hospital. Theres no word yet on the condition. The cause of this fire is under investigation. The search continues this morning for two masked men who robbed a 7eleven in Montgomery County overnight. It happened at 54th and city avenue in lower merion township. Police say the men were armed with guns when they walked into the store at 12 30 a. M. One worker suffered a minor injury during the incident. Police arent sure how much cash the robbers grabbed before running off. Later today, Souderton Area High School will hold a vigil for two of the victims for last weeks killing spree in Montgomery County. Ninth grader nina flick were killed. Her 17yearold brother, anthony flick, a junior at the high school was seriously injured. Hes the only survivor of the attacks. Police say the violence happened in three locations, harleysville, lansdale, and souderton. Members of four generations of one family were killed. The killing sparked an intense manhunt for former military veteran bradley stone. Police say stone killed his exwife, her mother, grandmother, sister, brotherinlaw, and niece. His body was found two days later in hanover township. He had cuts on his body but authorities have not released the cause of death. At a Court Hearing today for the suspect in a decades old child murder case in new york city. Pedro hernandez is charged with killing 6yearold etan patz in 1979. It wasnt until 2012 when Police Arrested hernandez when family members alerted investigators they believed he was responsible. A videotaped confession will be used in court but the judge is weighing whether or not to allow testimony from witnesses hypnotized in the 35yearold case. A ruling could come as early as this week. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty. Etan patz vanished in 1979 while walking to his bus stop in new york city. Cloudy and cold during the afternoon across the entire area. Fairly wet pattern, at least through Christmas Eve, and its going to be warm on Christmas Eve. Starting to cool off later in the week though. The clouds thickening up across the area. We did see some sunshine earlier. 40 degrees, the wind east at 6 miles an hour. We are at 40 degrees in philadelphia and cooler down to the south where the clouds have been thicker, and that may happen up in the philadelphia area and points there north as the clouds thicken and rain starts to come in, the temperature may drop a couple degrees. Authorities say the victim was taken from cranston street in Wynnefield Heights and found in a building on west chew avenue in olney. Nbc 10 was the only station to get this video here of the mans rescue. They say he was abducted from his home and brought to this building in olney where at least two men inside Wearing Masks violently beat him. Neighbors are frightened. Well, certainly a lot of clouds over the next couple days, maybe longer, and some periods of rain. The clouds are thickening up across the philadelphia area but still see a couple patches of blue in some places and the clouds are not that thick, at least not yet. They are thicker down to the south where we are seeing some rain in southern delaware. That rain area is spreading up to the north going into the dry air thats on top of us now. So its not happening quickly, and when it does happen, the rain is going to be pretty light. Were not talking about any kind of heavy rain. The heaviest stuff is way offshore and continuing to move away. Temperatures are above freezing but not by a whole lot. Its a cold day out there, and with the clouds and with the rain, its certainly going to feel like a winter day, but no snow in the forecast. The clouds thickening up at noon, patchy areas of rain by 3 00, and becoming a little bit more widespread by 6 00, but, again, it is on the light side. The heavier rain is coming. Ill have the timing on that with the sevenday in a few minutes. Speaking of the weather, a storm system moving across the Pacific Northwest left parts of oregon under water this weekend. Roads were closed, basements flooded. Some people even used canoes to get around town. You can tell when it gets all around your house and up to maybe the middle step on your front step, then you know its a big flood. Cars were lined up on flooded out highways. That same storm system is expected to bring a lot of snow to the rockies later this week. Back here on the east coast, new Jersey Governor Chris Christie wants the president to demand the return of a convicted cop killer from cuba. Joanne chesimard was convicted of killing a new jersey state trooper in 1973 but escaped from prison. She was granted asylum there. The governor wants chesimard returned to the states before diplomatic relations with cuba proceed. Christie sent a letter to the white house. He said in part, quote, the family of her victims, like so many of those who have and continue to suffer under the castro regime, deserve the basic decency before further steps toward cuba are taken by this government. Also in the garden state, the casino crisis in atlantic city. Caesars entertainment whose largest operating unit plans to file for bankruptcy says it will merge in an all out stock deal. It plans to file for bankruptcy by the middle of next month. The Worlds Largest Gaming Company says this deal will allow it to be restructured and to restructure the debt. Investigators say Leonard Bernard knocked on a 76yearold womans door saturday night pretending to be with a Home Health Care company. He then allegedly forced his way inside, tied up the woman, and stole her jewelry. Bernard and his alleged accomplice, brianna mitchell, are both facing numerous charges. Crews are making repairs to easton road following a water main break over the weekend. They are expected to be there until 1 00 this afternoon. An honor today for a man who risked his life to save others during a deadly shooting in monroe county. Hell be presented with a National Heroes award. The man that you see right there is ross township parks director bernard kozen. This is from the day after the shooting inside a municipal meeting in august of 2013. Kozen helped tackle and disarm the gunman. Today hell be honored by the Carnegie Heroes Fund commission. Police say the suspected gunman, rockne newell, shot and killed three people at that meeting. Officer Charles Kondek was shot, then run over while trying to serve a warrant. Police have arrested his suspected killer. Kondeks Police Cruiser has become a memorial outside the Tarpon Springs police station. A standoff is over in northern california. A man who barricaded himself inside his sacramento area home over the weekend was killed in a shootout with police. Authorities say the man sprayed his girlfriend with mace. She ran out of the house and called for help. According to the police, the man began shooting when officers arrived and soon after flames and smoke poured from the home. A suburban d. C. Home is flooded after a water main broke and sent water into the air. The break happened this morning right below a fire hydrant. Water shot into the air and flooded a nearby home. Firefighters had used the hydrant to battle a twoalarm fire this morning. Crews trying to figure out what caused the water main to break. U. P. S.
