That means efforts have been under way to get Homeless Individuals off the street and into a safe shelter over night. That cold blue not just in philadelphia but several neighboring counties in pennsylvania and new jersey as well. We also have a light wind out here thats also making things feel a little bit worse. You get that windchill coming in to play. We have been making calls to several shelters and agencies this morning and they are seeing more people use their services, which is a good things. Those who choose to be outside, well, they know the risk. We just always run on saturday morning. So keep it going. Even in cold weather like this . Yep, why not . Its actually kind of nice. You can see that water on the firefighters jacket turned to ice. Thats what that is. Investigators say there was nobody living inside this house. No injuries at all. This morning 22 people are receiving help from the American Red Cross after a late night fire in lehigh county. This fire damaged four rowhomes on gordon street in allentown. Everybody made it out safely. The red cross will help those residents with emergency aid and that includes clothes, food and shelter. New from overnight, Philadelphia Police are investigating a deadly shooting. Nbc10 was on the scene outside the sing fon restaurant where somebody shot and killed a man after midnight. The victim had just bought some food at the restaurant when the shooter opened fire. The search is on in atlanta county for the driver who hit a man and just kept on going. Police have identified the victim as 52yearold james osler. He died at the scene of the crash at route 30 and eighth avenue. This happened overnight. Police shut down the roads for about three hours while they investigated but the intersection has since reopened. Today council for Pennsylvania Attorney general Kathleen Kane will hold a News Conference in center city. Kane is currently fighting back against calls for her impeachment. This after reports that an investigative grand jury is recommending criminal charges against kane. Shes accused of leaking secret information to the media about another grand jury investigation. This morning a man killed in a policeinvolved shooting in Cumberland County will be laid to rest if Funeral Services are set for 9 00 at chestnut assembly of god in vineland. He died on the 30th went afser erwhen officers opened fire. The officers found a gun inside the car reid was riding in. The officers have been suspended until an investigation has been complete. Now to news in Montgomery County. Officials have shut down a Day Care Center after the death of a baby girl this week. The 5monthold was enrolled at the school on east willow grove road. She died monday. The department of Human Services launched an investigation and said so far their officers have found more than a dozen violations at that day care. We did contact the day care for comment but have not heard back yet. Today bucks county will open new Court Facilities in doylestown. In Gloucester County investigators say a Franklin Township palestinian will not Face Criminal Charges for hitting and killing a 10yearold boy. According to investigators the officer was on his way to a nonemergency call for an unruly juvenile. We dont necessarily worry about an increased in tax right now but for the first time in years there appears there may be some movement or at least a conversation on the issue. President obama wants everybody to go to college. Hes introduced a plan to make the first two years of Community College free for students across the country. Hes calling it Americas College promise. Students would need to maintain a 2. 5 grade point average to make progress toward a degree. Colleges with participating students would also have to offer academic programs that fully transfer to fouryear colleges or job Training Programs that lead to degrees and certifications.
