Investigators say five people were inside at the time of the breakin. Police are still trying to piece together exactly how that burglar died. New from overnight, Philadelphia Police are searching for the gunman wanted in a deadly shooting. Nbc 10 was in philadelphia around 4 00 this morning as police searched for clues that could lead them to the gunmen. Investigators say the victim was shot in the face, in the back and below his waist. Also new from overnight, police have arrested a bar owner who they say shot a woman in west philadelphia. Its unclear if hell be ultimately be charged. This happened inside the 601 bar on north 56th just before 3 00 this morning. The woman is in stable condition with a graze wound to the leg. Were checking with police for more details about what led up to the shooting. Philadelphia police are busy today searching for the gunman who shot and killed a man late last night in kensington. Investigators say this victim was shot eight times on hartville street. He died at the hospital. Police have not released his identity. Right now, a group of Young Children is gathering in philadelphia to participate in a diein demonstration on city avenue. The protest is the latest in a series calling for justice following the policeinvolved deaths of Michael Brown and eric garner. Nbc 10s matt delucia is live. The organizers say theyre doing this to end what they call social injustice and Police Brutality against minorities, adding they want to give children a voice in the matter. Right now im going to bring in angie ayers and her 8yearold daughter. Tell me why are you doing this today . Were actually doing this today because my daughter is really involved in watching the news media. She started seeing all of the protests on tv, and she kept saying mom, i want to go to a protest. I kept telling her no, youre too young. It might be dangerous. And i didnt want to, you know, put her in an unsafe environment. After i told her no for about five times, she finally said mom, since i cant participate, can you help me do something for kids that you can help us make sure its safe. Reporter talk about that safety. Youre having all of these children here, some as young as 8 years old, going to this intersection of monument road and city avenue. Its a busy road. How will you keep them safe . Well, we have people assisting us. We have Philadelphia Police as well as Lower Marion Police department. Reporter okay. And so you have all of these children out here. How many parents are here . All the parents are bringing their own children. We have some that are a lot of the volunteers have brought their own kids. We didnt organize, like, big groups. We just passed out all the information. We asked the parents to come with their children if they thought that was a good idea for them. Reporter and real quickly, how important is this for you . This graffiti that you see there on your screen has sparked outrage in one philadelphia community. It says cop lives dont matter. Somebody scrawled the antipolice messages on a wall, a fence and even the side of a church in west philadelphia. This after the recent grand jury decisions in ferguson, missouri, and in new york. Philadelphia police say the graffiti will be investigated like any other act of vandalism. Meanwhile, hundreds lined the streets last night in northeast philadelphia to show their brotherly love and sisterly love to the men and women in blue. It was part of a nationwide event called blue lives matter. The propolice protesters tell us they want to show their support for Philadelphia Police officers. The demonstrators say police are being unfairly judged following the deaths of Michael Brown and eric garner. Preliminary are not saints. Theyre men and women that go to work every day and try to do their job and try to do the best they can. And theyre not going to be perfect. While last nights rally was lloyd and noisy, it was peaceful. A few dozen people gathered for a similar rally in port richmond. Some of the officers wives organized this one. Demonstrators held signs and told drivers to honk their horns to show their support for the police. This morning a bucks county man is charged with making a hoax call during the manhunt for bradley stone. Hes the former marine whom Authorities Say went on a shooting spree earlier this week. According to investigators, Luke Sanderlin claims that a man looking like bradley stone tried to carjack him in doylestown monday night. It led to an allout search in doylestown and a lockdown of central bucks ymca and the high school. He also told them he fired a gun at stone to scare him off. Police began searching for stone after they say he killed his wife and five members of her family. They found his body the next day in Montgomery County but no clues ever turned up in doylestown. Investigators say thats because sanderlin made up his carjacking story. As for why, authorities believe he was trying to raise money for a medical treatment for an alleged illness. Luke sanderlin is now being held on 250,000 bail on charges including Reckless Endangerment and risking a catastrophe. This Morning Police are searching for Armed Robbers who are targeting Grocery Stores in north philadelphia and brewerytown. Take a look at this surveyed aen video of the two men. Authorities believe the crooks were involved in seven robberies. In each one, the men covered their faces and used handguns to threaten workers at neighborhood Grocery Stores. They got away with money and cigarettes. In one holdup, they actually stole a handgun from an employee. Nobody was hurt, but the robb y robberies have neighbors worried. My grandkids come in here. Its concerning me because what if my grandkids come in here and something happens . Police say they want the men off the streets before the robberies turn violent. Drone fired two missiles at a militant hideout in northern pakistan, killing at least five taliban fighters. In a separate operation, pakistans military says that its military killed five terrorists on the outskirts of peshawar. According to military officials, the local commander of the militants was among those killed. The attack happened in an area where the taliban carried out that School Massacre earlier this week. They killed close to 150 people, most of them children. The state department has issued a Worldwide Travel alert for anybody whos going abroad over the holidays. In upstate new york, a a 19yearold woman is facing a seconddegree murder charge for allegedly strangling her 5yearold cousin. Police say that Tiffany Van Osteen was babysitting the boy inside her familys house near albany thursday afternoon. She told authorities that two masked men came in and kidnapped her cousin. But investigators have determined that her story was false. A k9 unit found the boys body near the home later that night. Just days before christmas, a sign featuring a guntoting santa claus is causing just a little bit of controversy in northern california. We have a lot of adult volunteers. And other older young people that will be corralling and walking through and just monitoring and holding our hands up just to stop the traffic to make sure that people are aware of where the young people are so that they dont get hurt or hit or anything like that. A pennsylvania lawmaker wants to put all cases of deadly force involving police in the hands of a special prosecutor. Art haywood announced his proposal yesterday in germantown. The bill would require the state attorney general to appoint an independent special prosecutor. Haywoods call for action comes in the wake of the Michael Brown and eric garner grand jury decisions. We need to let people know that we care and that theyre heard, and we dont want to wait until a ferguson or a new york incident happens here in pennsylvania before we act. Haywood says he plans to introduce his bill when he is sworn into office next month. This weekend hundreds of people are sending some brotherly love and sisterly affection to the Philadelphia Police department. Propolice protesters gathered in northeast philly last night as part of a nationwide event called blue lives matter. Homicide detectives say that this baseball bat was used as a weapon to kill victim wayne capelli last year. Police believe his killer may have stolen the baseball bat from someone living in york or harrisburg. Now investigators are trying to track down the owner of this louisville slugger. Capelli was beaten to death in february of 2013. He was last seen leaving the super fresh in wilmington. His body was discovered along delaview avenue two days later. Today marks super saturday.
