Im sure erica, you and i running our grooming problems with it. But overall, its okay. All right, thanks, guys. See you at 8 00. All right. Now well check in with the folks at meet the press. Turmoil in the middle east will be the focus of discussion on this mornings show. Joining us now for a preview is moderator chuck today. Chuck, good morning . Good morning, rosemary. Hey chuck, the u. S. Is in a tough spot in the middle east when it comes to relations with iran saudi arabia and israel is there my clear path forward for this administration . No in many ways, it got more complicated this week with saudi arabias decision to intervene in yemen. Why did that complicate things . Because suddenly it appears we have a hot proxy war in yemen between an iranianbacked group and now a saudibacked group. The United States is on the side of the saudis there. At the same time were 48 hours away from the u. S. And leading world partners in trying to strike a deal with iran which could remove sanctions, let them pursue a Nuclear Program of some sort, not with the bomb but Nuclear Energy which could then expand financially irans ability to have a larger sphere of influence, which is something saudi arabia is trying to stop and the u. S. Supposedly is on their side on that. I think the developments in yemen will make the president s challenge of striking a deal with iran and selling that deal here in the United States to congress and to the American Public more difficult than it was last week and last week it was very difficult. Chuck, i also want to talk to you about the big news out of the senate this week minority leader harry reid announced that he will not seek reelection. What does this all mean for democrats in the senate . Well some things will change, some wont. Look, the new leader will be Chuck Schumer, the veteran new York Democratic senator. Hes been harry reids righthand mound for five or six years now. So operationally, behind the scenes, you wont see much change. What i think therell be some there are personality differences between the two, and that will impact i think, how the senate is run. Number one, Chuck Schumer is somebody who always loves to make a deal. The ultimate pragmatist to the point that some, some on the left thinks he tries to cut deals too quickly and too often. But hes a deal maker. The second is hes not camera shy. Harry reid was not somebody who was in front of the cameras a lot. Was not somebody who appeared on a lot of the sunday talk shows, things like that. Chuck schumer, on the other hand the last phrase you would use to describe him is camera shy. And as folks know on sunday morning, a very familiar face. I think youll see a more outspoken Senate Leader somebody that will be a more familiar face but also somebody that will be considered more of a dealmaker. All right, chuck todd moderator of meet the press, chuck, thank you. You got it. The middle east in turmoil will be among the things chuck is talking about this morning on meet the press. It comes your way at 8 30 here on nbc 10. Well be right back. We have new video this morning of crews rescuing a hiker who got stranded in Yosemite National park.
