The family also tells us on the weekend of the deaths in late september, that their parents, their father, had been preparing emails for an important meeting here at Cooper University hospital. Also that they had face time the night before with a grandson, even though people who investigators interviewed said John Sheridan was upset and withdrawn in the final days of his life. A septa worker goes above and beyond his bus driving duties. It happened when he saw a 4yearold girl wandering philadelphia streets alone overnight. Heres where she was found at the corner of tooresdale and magee. Drew smith is here to tell us how that septa driver jumped into action. That little girl is safe with her mother again. Attention is turning to that septa bus driver who rescued the child. Reporter bus driver Harlan Jenifer is used to working overnight and seeing the bizarre things that come with those hours. A 50yearold woman is dead her mother is in Critical Condition with stab wounds and her 18yearold son is in the hospital with cuts on his hands. Investigators believe those are the only three people involved in the crime. But they are not sure who did what. Neighbors tell us police are familiar with the home. My neighbor across the street called me at 6 30 this morning because she saw ambulance and many cops. Police are waiting to talk to the son and the grandmother as soon as their conditions improve. Cracking down on crime. After a long wait hightech cameras are finally in place in a bristol neighborhood. Their job is not to record crimes but, rather, prevent them. He told her he was a Water Company worker. He was inside her house for about an hour. Police say he and a partner made off with about 400 and some jewelry. In court papers today the aclu says red clay made it easier for people in favor of a tax increase to vote. They say the school blocked parking for some people, opposed to the tax boost. Reporter the cdc just gave a sneak peek to City Council Members who asked them to come here and look at the violence problem in the city. It isnt available stot public just yet but the Council Members who were involved in this, they wanted me to have a chance to look at it so they could get information out to the people in wilmington. We met with City Council Members a moment ago. They see crime as an epidemic especially young africanamerican males. They say the cdc came up with interesting stats but they just affirmed what many people in the neighborhood already tell us. The key to cutting down crime is to getting to children earlier. You hear the term atrisk. The cdc says they need to identify the real atrisk kids sooner and take advantage of the city and state programs and figure out which ones work and which dont. Some need to be invented some need to be redone some will be thrown out. We now know we have a way of identifying a person before they commit a cite crime. How do we give them the support they need so they dont go down that path. Reporter more early identification programs seems to be the big takeaway from what im hearing. The cdc didnt give the city council a good answer on when the public can see the report. The Wilmington City Council, they want everybody to see this. Officer wilson died in a shootout in a store in philadelphia two weeks ago. Investigators say two brothers tried to rob the store and a gun battle broke out.
