And a few scattered showers this morning, right, michelle . Thats right. Well see it all throughout the day. We certainly have the fog in place and showers on and off throughout the day, clouds maybe even a thunderstorm later on this afternoon. Heres a laif look outside. You can tell where that fog is. We are looking at radar showing us we have rain moving through once again this morning so keep that umbrella handy as you head throughout this sunday. The rain moving through this morning and well see those on and off showers. Not a washout like yesterday, but still the chance for some showers. Temperatures are mild this morning compared to this time yesterday. About ten degrees warmer. 42 right now in philadelphia. 36 in reading. 40 right now in mount pocono. Along the coast temperatures into the 50s. 52 in wildwood. By this afternoon, were going to be up to 62 degrees, so about 21 degrees warmer than what is typical for this time of year. By 8 00 47. By 10 00, 50 degrees and mild. By lunchtime, looking at 55 degrees. The chance for showers, maybe even a thunderstorm as the cold front moves through. Well talk more about that coming up. Today, we have done what we promised. We have found and we have brought shane home. That was Karen Montgomery mother of shane montgomery, the 21yearold who went missing over thanksgiving. The family says dive crews recovered shanes remains from the Schuylkill River yesterday. Tomorrow, the medical examiner is expected to officially identify the body. Crews found the body at the bottom of the Schuylkill River in manayunk behind the manayunk brewery. Shane disappeared in the Early Morning hours of thanksgiving day after a night out with friends at a nearby pub. The family tells us the discovery means that shane has come home after this long search. This community, i dont know if we can say thank you. I dont know if we could ever repay what this community did for our family. They were there every step of the way. Police tell us they do not suspect foul play in shanes death. The family has not released funeral arrangements. Today marks the final farewell for one of new york citys finest who was killed in a deadly ambush last month. Dozens of Police Officers from philadelphia and other parts of area will make their way to new york for officer wenjian lius funeral. Matt delucia is live in northeast philadelphia where the officers are getting ready to leave. Matt . Reporter they just had a meeting and now theyre heading out to the buses. You can see they have two of the buses here right now, about 80 officers who are getting ready to head up to new york. Last week, some of these officers went up for the funeral for rafael ramos, the other officer from new york who was killed in that ambush last month. We have officers here from the city. Some are all these are off duty right now, but you have some who are required and others who are active members of the Philadelphia Police department who are heading up there for wenjian lius Memorial Service today. Now, last week so many people went from around the country, about 25,000 officers that philly officers couldnt get into the church itself so they lined the procession route from the church to the cemetery. So the officers today planned to do the same thing. You see them right now. Theyre all getting on the buses. They will be leaving momentarily. They were scheduled to leave at 6 00, so theyll be heading out in just a few minutes. Some of these folks were out here last week and theyre out here again early today getting ready for another farewell. Live in northeast philadelphia this morning, im matt delucia, nbc 10 news. Tomorrow in northeastern pennsylvania, the man accused of killing a state trooper and injuring another during an ambush is scheduled for a preliminary hearing. Eric frein is scheduled to appear in pike county court. Hes charged in the deadly shooting at the State Police Barracks in Blooming Grove in september. Police say frein was then on the run for about seven weeks before investigators cartured him. This morning, Philadelphia Police are looking for the gunman wanted for murdering a limo driver who had only been on the job for a week. The owner of the car Service Tells Us a passenger taken to de lancy street in West Philadelphia shot his driver last night. Delancey street in West Philadelphia shot his driver last night. The gunman stole a cell phone and about 100 in cash. This is the third murder in philadelphia so far in 2015. Neighbors near the scene say theyre disturbed by this kind of violence so early in the new year. Weve had some issues on this 5400 block of delancey street for some years but we were able to clean it up with the help of the 18th Police District and some Community Activism and it has gotten much better, much better. So im kind of sad to see this occur on this block since it has turned around so greatly in the past. Police say they are interviewing the victims girlfriend right now who was inside the vehicle and witnessed the shootings, but was not hurt. New from overnight, police in Camden County are investigating an incident involving an exploding mailbox. Nbc 10 was along secoya road where neighbors called police to report loud noises in the area around midnight. Officers tell us one cast iron mailbox exploded. Nobody was hurt. So far, police have not made any arrests. Also new from overnight, Police Philadelphia are looking into a shooting death that led to a threecar accident. Nbc 10 was on the scene in north philadelphia. Police say a man in his 30s was shot in the chest while driving his minivan. The vehicle then crashed into two parked cars. Wed roadst roads may have been a factor in the crash. The car slammed into a utility pole and flipped over at abbottsford avenue. One person was taken to the hospital. No word on a condition. A crew had to be called out to the scene because that pole was leaning over due to the crash. We are making calls to the Utility Company to see if any houses have lost power. We will keep you posted. Happening now, drivers on the pennsylvania turnpike are paying more to get to their destinations. A 5 toll hike went into effect at midnight. The new rates apply to easy pass and cash customers. The most common toll for a passenger vehicle will increase from 1. 04 to 1. 09 for easy pass customers, and from 1. 60 to 1. 70 for cash customers. This is the seventh time in ten years that there has been a hike in tolls. Next search crews are zeroing in on that missing airasia flight. New this morning in the search for the missing airasia flight crews have found a fifth piece of debris believed to be part of the plane. Divers had to cope with bad weather and low visibility yesterday, but they think they have found the fuselage of the jetliner. Also another body has turned up. So far, 31 bodies have been recovered. That leaves 131 passengers and crew still missing. The flight disappeared one week ago on december 28th. It was leaving indonesia, but did not make it across the java sea. In indonesia this morning, americans in surabaya are on alert because the u. S. Embassy has issued a warning about a potential threat against banks and hotels associated with the u. S. There. Officials say there is no connection at this point, though linking the missing airasia plane with the threat. Investigators with the National Transportation and safety board are expected to survey the site where a plane crashed in kentucky. Four family members were killed but one little girl survived. 7yearold sailor gutzer was bloodied when she wokalked about a mile in freezing temperatures until she found a house where she could get help. A miracle that she survived but also the fact that she didnt succumb to exposure, hypothermia and was able to have the sensibilities to try to get help. Sailor only suffered a broken wrist in the crash, but her parents, sister, and cousin were all killed. Air Traffic Controllers say the pilot reported engine trouble shortly before they lost contact with them. Jury selection is set to begin tomorrow in the Boston Marathon bombing trial. Dzhokhar tsarnaev pleaded not guilty to setting off two bombs at the finish line of the 2013 marathon. The explosions left three people dead and more than 260 injured. Tsarnaev is also charged with killing an m. I. T. Police officer in the days following the attack. On friday, a federal judge denied a defense request to delay the trial so that attorneys could have more time to prepare. If convicted, tsarnaev could face the Death Penalty.
