Matt despite the intensity firefighters say if they actually got a handle on this one before it spread to even more homes. Reporter rosemary it cook 41 minutes to get this fire under control. Look here. You can see three of the homes have extensive damage this morning. Looking down the block theres barely any trace of what this fire left behind. Now about 15 homes did lose power during that time. But i do see some of the lights are back on. Just as we come back over to the three we homes you can see workers are out here boarding up these homes as we speak. Look from sky force ten. This is what the fire looked like as it was burning. Started just after 9 00 last night here on the 2200 block of south 68th street. Several people were home at the time. All of them having only a few moments to escape. The fire chief tells us three people were injured including two who jumped from the second floor. One of them is a 70yearold man who broke his leg as a result of the fall. We did speak with a cousin of one of the residents here who got a frantic phone call as this block was going up in flames. She was just freaking out. Like you know it was crazy. Like her being witnessing her house on fire. So i wasnt able to get too much out of her. Shes just screaming of ever the phone. Thats all i heard from her, a bunch of screaming. This morning y hat crashed nearly a week ago. Theyre hopeful theyre close egg to finding the wreckage now that sonar equipment has detected two large objects on the ocean floor. So far crews have found 30 bodies. The plane went down with 162 people onboard. Back in our area. A philadelphia mother is holding out hope that new Surveillance Video will help police catch the hit and run driver who killed her daughter just before christmas christmas. The crash happened on state road on december 23rd. Youre looking at new Surveillance Video from the scene. It shows a dark older model truck leaving the area. After the driver hit 33yearold teresa pausy. She died at the hospital a short time later. It hurts me to the point that not only did they kill my daughter but they killed me. They took a part of me that i can never get back again. How could you be so cold and so heartless that you can do that and drive away. Obviously you didnt have a guilty conscience because you didnt come forward. Witnesses say that she was waiting to cross the street when she was hit by that car. In another deadly accident we are learning more about a teenage driver accused of running down the 16yearold girl who was getting ready to board a school bus in bucs county. 1yearold Michael Shelly is charged with homicide by vehicle. Police say he failed to stop for the school bus in bensalem township last month. According to officers shelly told them his windshield and side windows fogged up because the defroster of his suv wasnt working. Officers say smelly also told him he had to use a tshirt to wipe away some of the mist so that he could drive. Investigators say shelly struck and killed Bensalem High School student minete cia a. Were also learning more about the problems with his 1984 ford bronco thats the car he was driving. Police say shelly admitted that his car had a broken speed meter as well as that broken defroster. Investigators also discovered that the suv had fake inspection stickers and registration stickers that belonged to a different vehicle. Police say the school bus had its red lights flashing and its stop sign arm activated for at least 30 seconds before the crash. This morning a 15yearold boy is in Critical Condition at Crozer ChesterMedical Center after somebody shot him in the stomach. The teen was hit at west six street in chester around 5 30 yesterday afternoon. No word yet on a suspect or motive. Today family friends, and comrades will hold a wake for no, Police Officer lui. He was one of the two officers ambushed and killed in brooklyn last month. His funeral will be held tomorrow morning. Lat saturday thousands of people attended the funeral for officer luis parter officer rafael ramos. The gunman who shot them later killed himself. The officers typal farewell was delayed until this weekend so his relatives could travel to the states from china. The city of cleveland will hand over the investigation of a Deadly Police shooting to the county sheriffs office. A rookie officer shot and killed 12yearold tamir rice at a playground in november. Officials in Mercer County are taking precautions after two women tested positive for hepatitis a. Both ate at roses restaurant in Hamilton Township. A man from new york state says he was hurt while evacuating Us Airways Flight 1702 during a crash landing last march. His Attorney Says that his client is now disabled and can no longer work at his job hauling auto parts. He filed a federal lawsuit seeking 10 million in damages. He injured his shoulder quite severely and was required to undergo surgery on his shoulder a couple months after the occurrence. Earlier this weekend, internal faa report on tabed by the nbc10 investigators blame the pilots for what happened. Now to a developing story weve been telling you about this morning. A standoff in bucks county that lasted most of the night is over with nobody hurt. Police arrested a man who allegedly threatened family members and a neighbor. The situation unfolded at a house on ice pond road in levittown. S. W. A. T. Teams responded around 9 30 last night. They say the man threatened to kill family and a neighbor once his elderly mother living inside the house there died. His 9yearold mother on hospice was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Again, she was not hurt. Nobody in the house or in the neighborhood was hurt. Police say the man did have a large number of guns inside that house, between 20 and 30 weapons. But again, it all ended without incident. That man is now in custody. Take a look at these intense flames. Nbc10 has learned that the man suspected in a brutal attack on a woman in a philadelphia parking garage has a violent criminal history. Steven woodson made his First Court Appearance yesterday charge with attempted murder and rape in connection to the new years day attack in the spring guard ten section of the city. Police say he beat choked, and raped the 33yearold victim inside the garage at 17th. A married couple who witnessed the attack stepped in and stopped it. According to police woodson is from the pittsburgh area and was here visiting his grandparents. He has prior convictions in philadelphia for robbery, assault, and attempted murder. Charges will also pending against him in allegheny county. Investigators tell us that woodson is not cooperating with their work at this time. Former philadelphia sportscaster is set to go on trial on monday. A bucks county judge denied his bid for a delay yesterday. He is accused of scamming people out of more than 300,000. Prosecutors say he sold tickets and travel packages to sporting events promising to give the money to charity but pocketed the cash instead. He with drew a guilty plea last month saying that he would represent himself t time. He will have a strandby lawyer with him in the courtroom. Now to news from our south Jersey Bureau a School Board Member charged with assaulting Police Officer has filed a lawsuit against the borough. Walter hudson was caught on camera inside this school gym, throwing the officer to the ground. This was last summer. Investigators say hudson and a councilwoman game upset with the officer who was questioning some teenagers at the school about underage drinking. Hudson is suing because he claims the borough refused to pay his legal fees even though an ordinance requires them to do so. A Grocery Store chain is going out of business in our area.
