Reporter police say the woman endured hours of tortures beating even being tased several seven times or more as they demanded security codes and alarm passwords at the Jewelry Store where she was working. This is security video of the van leaving the parking garage. Its around 4 00 and the victim is inside beaten and tied up. They drove the complainant toward darby. Reporter police are not sure of the route. Theyre asking for help from anyone who saw the van in center city or at this wawa avenue around 4 40 saturday. The woman was freed once in the woods in darby but captors returned, beat her again, drove around and set her free at 6 00. She offered her car. She offered her ring she had on her finger. Once she told them it was worth about 300 they put it back on her finger. They said, were after big stuff. Reporter in the end, police say those guys got very little. Maybe a couple hundred dollars after using her atm card at an atm machine in southwest philly. They also say that tonight they are asking people for help. They want to know if you saw the van, they want to know if maybe you have video, pictures of the van or if you know who owns it call the Philadelphia Police department. Deanna durante, nbc10 news. Her Attorney Says Text Messages from the day of the murder released by prosecutors are just a fraction of messages between the two defendants. He walked around the neighborhood with Police Officers handing out flyers asking neighbors for help solving recent crimes. The mayor also got an earful from a woman who thinks he hasnt done too good of a job from preventing them. That was my first grandchild. And it hurts. Reporter dorothys 19yearold grandson was killed her saturday night like so many others, shes had enough of the violence in wilmington. She wanted a chance to tell that to mayor dennis williams. Ill tell him to his face. Ill go to his house and let him know he aint done nothing. Reporter today the mayor and Police Officers walked around recent crime scenes. He meant dorothy. Personally i dont like you. I dont like you as a person. Because you didnt stand by nothing that you said. I wasted my vote. I wasted my vote. The city set new homicide records and yet the mayor didnt attend any of the governors special panels on wilmington violence and came out against recommendations former new York City Police commissioners report that said the city could be managing its police force much better. Reporter the report says detectives need better procedures and recommends hiring a deputy chief. The mayor says he doesnt have money for that. After more than seven hours of deliberations, jurors in the marathon bombing trial have not reached a verdict but they did have two questions right before the end of the day that attorneys should answer tomorrow. Jurors in the marathon bombing trial have sat through 17 days of testimony and evidence watching video of the bombs exploding on boylston street over and over looking at thousands of Graphic Photos of people injured and dying, expressions of pain and anguish on their faces. And bearing witness to the horrific autopsy photos of the four People Killed in the bombings and their aftermath. Officer sean collier, Krystle Campbell lindsey lieu and martin richard. Now its up to the jury of seven women and five men to determine if 20yearold Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is guilty of committing the crimes that led to those deaths and injuries. Even the defense team has admitted tsarnaevs involvement and said he should be held accountable. Tsarnaev faces 30 charges, 17 of which carry the possibility of the death penalty. And within those 30 charges are several specific findings jurors have to weigh. So, in all, jurors have to decide whether tsarnaev is guilty or not guilty 99 times and each decision has to be unanimous. Many of these counts are complex. For example, did the bombings on boylston street set in motion a chain of events that led to the murder of m. I. T. Police officer collier or did the carjacking lead to the serious injury sustained by mbta officer donahue in watertown . If the jury finds tsarnaev guilty of any of the capital counts, they know theyll be back for a penalty phase. Legal analyst michael coin says the jury is just doing its Due Diligence to reach a fair verdict. No one expects we wont see a not guilty verdict in the Dzhokhar Tsarnaev bombing case. The jury is taking its time going through 32page jury verdict form theyre being deliberate and likely we might see a verdict some time tomorrow. Investigators say there were no working smoke defect tors inside the western Pennsylvania House where two children died in a fire. That fire started early this morning in new castle, lawrence county. Thats about 50 miles northwest of pittsburgh. A 3monthold boy and his 5yearold brother died in that fire. The parents boy, grandmother, her companion made it out of the house. Firefighters say it began on a chair in the parents upstairs bedroom but there was little they could do when they got to the scene. The first 20 minutes, we were already all out of the house and the fire was basically out. Everyone was in ambulance and gone within the first 20 minutes. The boys mother and 6 ylgd boy were treated for burns. A state Police Fire Marshal is investigating. Now to decision 2016. Senator rand paul made it official today in louisville kentucky. Its an animal causing some traffic trouble around the ka of saints peter and paul in center city. A raccoon was stouk a banner across from the church. Animal control had to call in other city workers to help get the animal down because it was so high up. A ladder and the long pole were used to get the animal down to rescue him and bring it to safety in a cage. We have rain around the area right now and you can expect more as we go into tonight. The ornl and two tenants where police say a party sunday night on easter attracted a crowd of 100 despite this yellow warning sticker that the building was off limits. Haddon township cydney long nbc10 news. We have new information now about a youth basketball coach arrested for firing a gun during a game on saturday. Maurice tavares was arraigned before a judge today. His bail was lowered from 500,000 to 150,000. Police say he got into an argument with spectators and another coach at christie Recreation Center in west philadelphia. They say he then pulled a gun and fired a shot. No one was hurt. The man accused of holding firefighters hostage at Montgomery County fire house has now been officially charged. Investigators say paul jordan was upset over being fired from the lamott volunteer fire company that he took four firefighters hostage before eventually turning himself in to police. Paul jordan faces a number of charges including kidnapping and making terroristic threats. Jordan is being held on 1. 5 million bail. Supporters of abu jamal are protesting the medical treatment given to the convicted cop killer. They show these pictures show mistreatment. He suffered eczema which left his body covered in blisters and causing him to go into diabetic shock last week. United well never be defeated some of abu jamal supporters gathered outside the Philadelphia District Attorneys Office this morning. They are calling medical care given to the inmate substandard and equate it with a murder plot by the state. Officials with the department of corrections told nbc10 theyre working with abu jamals representatives and added, when an individual presents to the medical department with symptoms or issues that require a higher level of medical care, that individual is sent to the local hospital. Abu jamal was convicted of murdering Philadelphia Police officer Daniel Faulkner in 18981. His death sentence was overturned but he is serving a life sentence without parole. Philadelphia police are looking for the thief who stole from a store in the citys Graduate Hospital section. The suspect was caught oog looking into the store window on march 30th. A few minutes later he went inside the store and came out with a blue bag, laptop and several items. Clouds now but wet and really cool changes on the horizon. Also some scattered light to moderate rain from about Camden County all the way to the shore, including parts of burlington county. The rains going to stay in the forecast for the rest of the evening. We have a few more showers off to our west but the wet pattern is really going to stick around for the next few days. The head of philadelphias Carpenters Union is asking Democratic Leaders across the country to avoid the pennsylvania Convention Center during next years Democratic National convention. Union boss sent a letter to each states democratic committee, asking them not to plan or schedule any dnc events at the Convention Center because of, quote, unfair labor practices. A spokesman for the union says they plan to send a letter to other national and state officials. The letter said in part quote, the Democratic Party and the Carpenters Union have benard ent allies for decades in the struggle for workers rights and the dignity and equal treatment of all our citizens, end quote. A spokesman for the Convention Center says some events for the dnc are already booked there and everything is running smoothly. From our Delaware Bureau dupont reaffirmed opposition to plan to divide up the company. They say plan by investor to break up the chemical maker could cost more than 4 billion. The woman was dumped in a cemetery in darby borough. Supporters of convicted cop killer abu jamal rallied in center city claiming abu jamal is not getting proper medical care in jail. Officials for the department of corrections told nbc10, in part, that when an inmate requires a higher level of medical care that inmate is sent to a local hospital. Were learning more about a north jersey man who was attacked by a coyote while working in his yard yesterday morning. Police now believe its the very same coyote that mauled a neighbors dog a week earlier. This is happening in saddle river, bergen county. Jen maxfield gets us new details. I had chased her. She had gone down in the woods. I figured she was gone but she came back. Reporter 77yearold retired School Teacher was attacked by a female coyote monday in his own front yard. Thats when she got me. Reporter back inside his home on twin brook road he shows us a puncture wound on his left calf which sent him to the emergency room for a series of rabe business shots. No stitches. Went right through my heavy jeans. You couldnt see the hole. Just a little blood. Reporter his leg is feeling much better today so he took us into his backyard to show us where police found the coyote. Saddle river police say the female coyote made her den in that small crawl space under this log cabin in the back of the home. They have three acres and it took police several hours to locate the female coyote following the attack. She was not scared of us the officers, she didnt run like any of the other coyotes or most of the wildlife we come in contact with at saddle river. Challenged us and moved away. And through parts of south jersey as far as Camden County is concerned into parts of atlanta county across the expressway we are still seeing moderate showers. Closer to the shore, this is mostly light rain around Atlantic City and areas north in ocean county. This is all mostly on the lighter side closer to the shore. Teachers spend on average about 500 of their own money every year to buy supplies for their classrooms. Its a staggering number. The extras that are really nice to have for students including field trips and the things that kind of just make school fun for kids. Unfortunately, a lot of those have been cut.
