Frigid winds 40 miles an hour this afternoon, helping to bring in that dangerous cold. A combination of the wind and the temperatures makes it feel so cold on your exposed skin. Its not just a number made up. It feels that way to your skin. The ears one of the places you have to protect. You get frostbite there quickly. North and west temperatures are in the teens. Low 20s. In other areas, theres no place thats 22 degrees in our area. We had snow showers coming through very quickly. A burst of snow occurred at philly international but just isolated snow showers right now. Of course the big issue, the temperature combined with the wind and meteorologist Sheena Parveen has more on that. Thats right, glenn. We are talking about the feels hef like temperatures feeling below 0 degrees as we go through tonight and tomorrow morning. Take a look at the wind gusts. Most of the area seeing 30 mileanhour wind gusts. Atlantic city seeing wind gusts close to 40 miles an hour. This is playing a big role in the dangerous cold outside. So now look at the feelslike temperature when you factor in the wind. It feels like a minus 1 in pottstown, 1 degree thats what it feels like in allentown, reading, lancaster feels like a minus 1. Millville feels like 4 as well as dover and wilmington and, of course, up in tie poconos it already feels like 16 degrees below zero. The arctic air is here and it will continue to move in as we go through tonight. So it will stay dangerously cold through the overnight hours. By midnight take a lack at these wind chills or feelslike temperatures. We do expect 9 degrees below zero in philadelphia about 11 degrees below zero in reading, 12 degrees below zero in allentown and much of south jersey and delaware. Anywhere from minus 5 to minus 8 degrees. That includes areas along the shore points as well. You can see there are icy patches ahead of us on the road. You know, drivers in the area say theyve just had about enough, even though winter has barely begun. Some people like to complain a lot. Its taking time but making progress in order to clear the icy white stuff from the roads that were frozen well before the storm hit.
