Kensington. Police say a car hit an innocent man on the street. No students were hurt. The mother of a Young Pregnant woman shot and killed early this morning is speaking out. The womans baby did not survive but the father who was shot several times did survive. Monique Williams Moore says her daughter jasmine was shot in the head multiple times at the corner of 21st and nedro in west oak lane. It happened around 1 00 this morning. She believes whoever did it was looking for jasmines boyfriend. The mother tells us she believes rocher was involved in a robbery and murder yesterday. She believes the shooting is retaliation. How can you be so heartless and take my baby from me and my grandchild . Did you not know she was pregnant. Rosier remains in the hospital. Now in custody, three suspects wanted for beating up a samesex couple. Deanna durante is with us. Those three suspects still being held here inside central detective. They likely will not get in front of a judge until 8 00 tonight. Were learning from sources that knowledge of the case, there is cell phone video that shows some of the melee, the attack but not what led up to that beating. Tonight the bucks county electrician is charged along with two of his High School Classmates for a beating that captured national attention. This was not a gay bashing case. It had nothing to do with anyones sexual orientation. Reporter sources close to the case tell me punches were thrown on both sides. Weve been told each side is blaming the other as the aggressor. Defense attorneys say the fight broke out after a woman was hit and say it was an alleged victim who threw that first punch. The woman who was struck has sat down and discussed the situation with central detectives, explained what happened. Reporter also arrested, 24yearold kathryn knott, the daughter of the Chalfont Borough Police chief. Her lawyer said she was merely spotted on sure veil and video and never did anything wrong. The fact that shes there we dont deny. The fact shes walking down the street, we dont know. Reporter 26yearold Kevin Harrigan is also charged and being held tonight. His lawyer says he doesnt agree with the way the facts have been played out in the case. There is video that supports his clients claim that this was not a vicious attack. A former coach from Archbishop Wood High School was here at central detective. He resignedc his position of th job. Those with knowledge of the case says that individual tried to hold people back. I called the archdiocese, asking them about that former employee, if he would get his job back. I was told because its a personnel matter, they wont comment any further. Reporting live in center city, deanna durante, nbc 10 news. Pennsylvania governor tom corbett signed a new cigarette tax into law to help fund philadelphias cashstrapped schools. The state Senate Passed the 2 per pack tax yesterday. Its expected to generate an extra 49 million for the School District this fiscal year and 80 million in the following years. The tax will only apply to cigarettes sold in philadelphia. Moving south to the ongoing casino crisis in Atlantic City. The now closed revel casino was supposed to be auctioned off today in new york. But the auction didnt go as planned. And that has serious allegations flaying tonight. Nbc 10s Jersey Shore Bureau reporter Ted Greenberg is in new york with the latest. This is not full disclosure. Reporter glenn straub hopes to leave todays auction in midtown manhunt as the new owner of the revel casino. Instead, he pointed to problems that he says kept the auction process from moving forward. Theyre not following the procedure. Reporter the florida developer previously emerged with a baseline bid of 90 million for the bankrupt Atlantic City mega resort which was bilts for nearly 2. 5 billion. Following a deadline for other bids yesterday afternoon, the auction was expected to begin at 9 00 a. M. The process is not transparent, its not fair and open. The university issued a statement saying they did nothing wrong, according to the center daily times, the University Response filed yesterday says neither man was treated differently from several other assistants following paternos dismissal. A delaware man has been charged with his fifth dui after police say he nearly hit a state trooper with his car. State police say they found Steven Williams slumped behind the wheel of his car yesterday afternoon in lewis, kent county. Within a trooper opened the door to check on him, police say the suspect drove off. Once Police Caught up with him, williams allegedly accelerated, nearly hitting a trooper and striking the front of a police car. Tonight hes being held on more than 15,000 cash bond. It took more than five years for him to collect that money emptying parking meters along his route. He faces up to 15 years in prison. Police make a major cocaine bust near oklahoma city. They stop a suspicious suv on interstate 40 monday and found dozens of bricks of cocaine stashed in the trunk. Three men inside the vehicle were arrested and charged with drug trafficking. In the meantime, a german citizen has been banned from Yellow Stone National park for a year after he crashed a drone into a lake there this summer. Back in july, andariese meissner was using a drone to shoot video of a Charity Bike Ride through the park when it crashed into lake yellow stone. Kusa reports he recently pled guilty to several charges including violating a ban on drones. Meissner has been orred to pay 1600 in fine and restitution. Crews battling a massive blaze threatening thousands of homes in Northern California are standing their ground as gusty winds approach. Containment lines around the king fire are holding but wind gusts up to 40 mirm miles per are expected later today. The fire has burned 145 square miles since it started nearly two weeks ago. It has destroyed 12 homes and is threatening another 12,000. In another part of california, the drought is so bad, people have lost water to their homes. Its happening in part of hanford, kings county. Crews are handing out bottled water. A temporary water source is being put in place to get the water running again. The winds win increase, too. We have rain approaching the area from the south. The only area seeing it right now is Sussex County in delaware. It will slowly move to the north overnight. The heaviest rain will be here through the overnight hours tonight. While many of you are sleeping but tomorrow it will be around for part of the morning commute. A rainy morning rush for many of you but it really depends how early you leave in the morning. Heres a look at the winds right now, were gusting near 25 miles an chour, through most of the area. As we go overnight tonight, those winds will stay up or increase, especially if youre along the shore. Temperatures have remained around 70 degrees. Many spots in the upper 60s now with the cloud cover all day today and those clouds are still moving through the rain slowly approaching but a majority of it is to our south. As we zoom into delaware, you can see a few bands of light rain. Thats hat green is showing. Moving through parts of kent and Sussex County. Milford, bethany beach, starting to get more rain moving onshore. The heaviest, thats still to our south. Big area of low pressure. We wont be seeing the sunshine until all of this moves up through the area. We do eventually see the sunshine as we go into the end of the week. For tomorrow well keep the rain in the forecast. As far as the shore is concerned we have winds near 40 miles an hour, possibly overnight tonight. High surf, minor coastal flooding possible and a high risk of rip currents. For the rest of us we can expect the rain, again heavy at times through the overnight hours as we go to future weather here by midnight, south jersey and delaware, you should start seeing the rain moving in. Some of this could be locally heavy. More starts to move in overnight. Notice the reds, oranges, yellows, thats heavy rain. By 7 00 in the morning, you could very well be running into a lot of this. Give yourself extra time in the morning. Even by 8 00, 9 00, its still around the area but its moving to the north, south of philadelphia. We start to see gradual improvements but the rain still stays in the forecast. By noon we should still have some showers around but the heaviest should be farther up to the north. By the afternoon hours we dont really break out of the pattern yet. Still cloudy, still showers around. And those winds could still be up, too. The strongest will be overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning. The rain moves to the north as we go overnight tonight, some of it heavy, around 60 degrees for the low in philadelphia. Right now at 5 30, the allout manhunt in rural pennsylvania continues for a 12th day. Theyve been searching for accused cop kilter eric frein from the air and the ground. Any new clues in the search, doug . Reporter the bottom line of the News Conference today seemed to be a growing level of frustration on the part of the Pennsylvania State police. Here we are 12 days into the search and they still do not have eric frein, but we did start to get a glimpse of some of the evidence that investigators say theyve been collecting over the last 12 days. For the first time, we did get to see photographs of eric freins green jeep cherokee. This was found days after the shooting at the Blooming Grove barracks find by a man walking his dog near a retention pond in a densely wooded area. Inside found such things as a snipers survival manual as well as a carton of cigarettes. It is manufactured by a company in serbia, eric frein is chronicled as being a reenactor in Eastern European battle scenarios also being featured in the documentary. The search still continues, very slow and methodical in the heavily wooded area in price township, monroe county. This is the air that basically surrounds the house where he lived with his parents. They do seem to be reliable, not every sighting but many of the sightings do seem to be reliable and, again, were finding items that lead us to believe he is living in and around that area. Three suspects wanted in connection with an assault turned themselves in to police today. The charges include aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and reckless endangerment. One of the attorneys for one of suspects claims this was not a hate crime but a deadly confrontation. Jasmine was shot and killed while sitting at a con corner in a car. The only public bid so far is for 90 million from florida developer glenn straub. Today morbids were opened and the process was put on hold until next week. Along with revel, of course, three other Atlantic City casinos have closed their doors. Another is in serious jeopardy of going out of business. 10,000 jobs could soon be gone. I dont believe were losing visitors. The outlook not so bright for lawrence walker. If the state approves Atlantic Citys layoff plan, some 250 to 300 city jobs could be cut. He fears losing i essential municipal services, this as local residents absorb a 29 property tax hike on their bills. Im nervous of the situation goes on. I think its something we have to expect as it goes. While Atlantic Citys mayor says Services Like streets department, trash and snow removal will not be diminished and Police Contracts are not in jeopardy, the fire chief tells nbc 10 today the city and unions will have to be creative to do more with less and there will be a breaking point. The Fire Department is down 23 positions due to retirement. The chief says he can and will look to enter a shared Service Contract with neighboring towns if needed to protect the city. Now, because we told you about some of the parking numbers today, its also important to note that that live nation free Blake Shelton concert that happened in Atlantic City in july, it attracted some 30,000 visitors, not to mention the air show and other events like fourth of july. Police say he broke into several homes on seminole, navajo and st. Martin streets back on september 15th. He got away with laptops and purses. Police later found some of the stolen items and are testing them for fingerprints. Wilmington police need your help to find this woman. Shes wanted for burglary and several other crimes. She spent a lot of time in the area arrange lancaster avenue in wilmington. Theres room for improvement. That appears to be the consensus from the 2014 pennsylvania system of School Assessment for the School District of philadelphia. District wide, reading and math proficiency scores fell by fewer than 2 percentage points. 8th grade proficiency rates increased in reading, science and writing. 55 of 168 schools improved. 48 schools improved in math. Superintendent william hite says the districts focus will continue to provide tools that enhance instructional quality. The Pennsylvania Attorney Generals Office is refusing to release internal sexually explicit emails that were found on state computers. Along the shore as we go overnight, we continue with an onshore wind near 40 miles an hour, possibly gusting, high surf could be anywhere from 7 to 10 feet and high risk of rip currents along the shore as well. We could see minor tidal flooding. As far as the rest of us are concern, were still expecting locally heavy downpours. Future weather as we go through the next several hours. The clouds stay with most of us. By midnight we start to see the rain moving in. For delaware and south jersey, closer to midfight, we start to see the rain approaching and covering these areas. The yellow shows where we could have embedded heavier rain. Overnight, the rain takes over. Heavy rain moving in with the oranges and the reds showing up. This could lead to areas of localized flooding if theres poor drainage. As far as widespread flooding is concerned right now we dont expect it. The heavy rain will last through the morning hours. 10 00 tomorrow morning, heavy rain continues moving north. By the middle of the day we start to see improvements but still a chance of rain in the forecast all the way through the afternoon. Were not going to clear up once the heavy rain is gone. They were recognized for her valor and leadership during a shooting on the campus of the mercy fitzgerald hospital in july. Theyre being called heroes who brought order from chaos. West Milford Police are trying to identify two hikers that may have run into another group before the animal killed and attacked another rutgers tune. They believe these hikers could help into the investigation of 22yearolds darsh patels death. They were hiking when they noticed the bear was following them. They scattered, patel went missing. Rutgers is planning on honoring patel with a posthumous degree. No criminal charges for nascars tony stuart in the death of kevin ward jr. That is the decision by a new york grand jury looking into the august accident that killed the 20yearold dirt track driver. Nbc 10 National Correspondent kurt gregory has new developments. Reporter a month and a half after his race car ran into kevin ward, tony stewart has been cleared of any criminal charges in the 20yearolds death. Grand jury has determined that there is no basis to charge tony stewart with any crimes. Reporter the accident took place at a dirt track in upstate new york on august 9th. Stewart and ward had been battling on the track before ward spun out into the wall. A move he blamed on stewart. In anger, ward got out of his race car to confront stewart. Thats when stewarts car ran into ward, killing him. The fact that he was observed running basically down twothirds of the track in the middle of other cars still racing played a big factor in their decision. Following the accident, tony stewart withdrew from racing say, quote, there arent words to describe the sadness. Friends say he took wards death hard. But stewart returned to the track earlier this month, maintaining wards death was something hell have to live with for the rest of his life. I know that the pain and the mourning that kevin wards family and friends are experiencing is just something that i cant possibly imagine. We wont be clearing out through the area until this entire thing moves through. Now it is moving slowly from south to north. We expect the rain again overnight tonight and lingering into the morning commute tomorrow. So a closer look, most of us are dealing with clouds. Some rain moving into the beaches in parts of delaware, mannly Sussex County. A lot of the lighter rain starting to move onshore.
