Michael shelley is faceingeing homicide by vehicle charges. Guys one big Reason Police confirm the school bus was stopped, the stop arm was down and the red lights were flashing that led to the arraignment today. The 33yearold woman had just been dropped off at 17th and callowhill at 10 30 yesterday morning. She was walk to her car when woodson allegedly came up from behind and attack. Beaten choked and drug between two parked cars. Reporter officers say arrested woodson within 15 minutes in large part thanks to a couple also walking to their car. How invaluable were the witnesses in this case . Very valuable. I mean good samaritans, they immediately, without hesitation opened themselves up to the victim got that victim secured in a car, took care of her. Reporter Philadelphia Police say woodson does have a criminal past in philadelphia. I looked up Court Records to find prior convictions for robbery and attempted murder. Woodson also has a record in Allegheny County where the pittsburgh area resident was recently accuse of indecent exposure and harassment. This victim might not be able to talk to us today if it wasnt for our two witnesses. Reporter now, the victim was treated and released from the hospital last night. I did reach out to the company that manages this garage to see if any safety or security measures were being added. I have not heard back. Federal prosecutors will seek the Death Penalty against the man charged in a deadly shooting rampage at Los Angeles International airport. Paul paul santia, a native of salem county new jersey will have a hearing on monday. Don tollefson says hes not ready for court. Hes expected to ask the judge for a continuance. His trial is set to begin monday. Tollefson wants to delay it while he looks for a lawyer who will take his case for free. Hes accused of stealing more than 300,000 by auctioning fake sports trips for local charities. Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire this morning in overbrook. Penns grove School Board Member Walter Hudson filed a lawsuit against the bureau. Hes alleging open public records act violation. That could force the borough to pay his legal bills this stems from an incident caught on tape last summer where hudson and Jeannette Jackson became upset with an officer who was questioning teenagers about underage drinking. Nearly nine months after u. S. Airways flight 1702 crashed at Philadelphia International airport last month, one of the passengers is suing. Frank, a new york state man, filed this 10 million lawsuit in federal court. By phone his attorney, Jonathan Ritter tells me, his klein the helped other passengers evacuate before he went down the chute. In the process of going down the chute himself, he struck his Left Shoulder on the ground and caused a rather severe injury. Reporter ritter tells me his clean the is now disabled and cannot work. Should that plane have ever left the ground given the information in this report . Oh, no they should never have commenced takeoff. Its also extraordinary in the sense that the initial reports, both official and unofficial had linked this to a primary cause being a tire blowout, which as it turns out is completely false. On this side it butts up to busy route 202. If you come back this way and look on the other side of the field, its Rolling Hills and streams and farms and Pretty Things like that. The university promises a beautiful campus. Opponents would rather they put the campus in vacant buildings already available along the highway. In literally three minutes you can get from the the craziness of 202 in north wilmington down into the piece of the valley. Its a green area that we have left that was untouched. Reporter well, this spot is now slated to be touched. Wilmington university is growing quickly year to year. It now plans to build its largest campus here. We underserve north wilmington by being somewhat closer in new castle. We feel theres an awful lot of people up there, faculty live up there and there are potential students that would be well served, i think, by having a campus there. The university has outgrown space it rents in a nearby office complex. Their plans call for three buildings for a total of about 200,000 square feet. It will accommodate 1,000 students and 250 faculty members. They promise trees, bushes, stone walls and water features and promise to stagger class times to keep this already busy stretch of 202 from getting even worse during rush hours. You will see many many many parking lots. This Beaver Valley member prefers to keep the corn field a corn field and the campus would be better than another box store but shes concerned about drinking water. You can always keep building farther and farther back. Where do you draw the line . As a gateway to our National Park we should treat it with a little more respect.
