We followed them all and its just encouraging to see the kids play and the teamwork between the internationals and the u. S. And the extreme sportsmanship they exhibit. Reporter one thing we want to make very clear, ive been on the phone with the tournament director and this is what he tells us thus far. Theyll meet with the committee to decide whether or not the game goes on as scheduled tonight at 7 30. That determination has not been made. Just because this has been scheduled an hour later, this game behind me, doesnt mean just yet that our game is going to be pushed back even though youd assume that would happen. As soon as we know that information, well make sure we get back to you. Well, keith, ill tell you, the rain has definitely stopped from where it was earlier, so, yes, we are hoping. So here is storm force 10. This is our new mobile weather vehicle. We brought it out here to williamsport today because we knew it was going to be a stormy day, and people have been waiting on this rain delay to come to an end. They did uncover the field, so everything looks good right now. The rain is a lot lighter. Been raining about two hours. Take a look at the top of it. Notice all these weather instruments. These are storm force 10 weather instruments. We can measure wind, rainfall, temperature, humidity, dew point, everything you basically need to know, and within storm force 10 we have the first alert radar of course right in the back. I can control it right here. What youre looking at right now, this is williamsport. Heres the band of rain that moved through. As i zoom in, you can really see it. Its coming to an end across williamsport. The rain has pushed off to the east. A little light shower active behind us but everything looks pretty good for the start of the game. Here is the Current Conditions based on the top of the vehicle, our storm force 10 equipment, we have 78 degrees right now. The winds arent that bad, only around 5 miles an hour or so. Everything is shaping up nicely. Back to the radar. You can see the loop. We had a band of rain move through earlier, lasted for about two hours and now were finally seeing an end to that. The cloud cover still around, still some sprinkles but no lightning in the vicinity. This tool allows me to see where lightning strikes are, and theyre very far to the south where some of the heavier rain is, too, but either way we are seeing nice clearing. Later on tonight, still the chance for a few showers but right now everything does look good enough to at least start the game. You can see theyre getting close to burkes county already in here and still somewhat on the heavy side. The lehigh valley. 8 00, scattered showers, just a little built of a threat towards williamsport. But really doesnt look like anything substantial falling during the evening hours. Now, tomorrow its a different story. The atmosphere gets moist and the rain chances go way up. Six people were hurt this morning after an accident involving an ambulance and an suv. Skyforce 10 was over the scene at chew avenue an washington lane in the east mt. Airy section of the city. The patient in the ambulance was already being take on the hospital for serious injuries. That was before the crash. Everyone riding in the suv also ended up being hospitalized as well. One witness talked to nbc 10 about what he saw right after the crash. He was just laying there. You know, he was already hurt. He was in the ambulance going somewhere. He lookd like he was more injured because of this crash . Yes, yes, i think so. The department of licenses and inspections was called out to inspect the building that was hit. Police are now investigating exactly what caused the accident. Tomorrow, Opening Statement will begin in the trial of a woman charged with kidnapping a 5yearold girl from her school in philadelphia. She was also charged with sexually assaulting the girl after taking her from william c. Bryant Elementary School in cobbs creek last year year. Prosecutors say she was seen here dressed in muslim garb to pose as the childs mother while taking her. The girl was found the next day at a playground in upper darby. The woman says shes innocent and turned down a plea deal that included 40 years in prison. Police in pennsylvania now have a new tool to help them put Child Predators behind bars. Nbc 10s Rosemary Connors shows us how it works. Reporter the newest Crime Fighting tool in pennsylvania brought police and state politicians together today in phoenixville. Their focus cracking down on Child Predators, especially those on the internet, sorting through hard drives and other computer evidence used to take investigators up to nine months in the lab with a backlog of cases. But with this truck, it can be a matter of hours. They can download everything right here, do it right in the truck. What the truck has the capability of doing is be able to do a full examination of all computers, cell phones, Electronic Media within a residence or a business. Reporter when this truck does pull up onto a crime scene, the agents are also equipped with protected gear like this Police Shield in the event that they get a warrant and have to get into somebodys home. The police chief in phoenixville considers Child Predator cases to be the most serious. Years ago in investigations i remember dealing with a case in which the perpetrator had made such an impact where we were getting victims contacting us from, you know, 10, 15 years out. Reporter he plans to use this new resource from the Attorney Generals Office to keep the community safe. Damaging a child like that is reprehensible. This afternoon, a private Memorial Service was held at mercy fitzgerald hospital to remember a caseworker allegedly shot and killed by a patient. Prosecutors saetre is a hu accompanied 49yearold richard plas at the hospitals campus back on july 24th and during his appointment prosecutors say platts pulled out a gun and shot hunt. Psychologists believe silverman was grazed in the head as well. Silverman then pulled out his own gun and shot plotts. He survived the shooting and was discharged from the hospital two weeks ago. Hes charged with murder and is behind bars. From the delaware bureau, newcastle county, police have released the sketch of a man they call a peeping tom. He was spotted looking into the windows of a home in wilmington. The Victim Told Police this isnt the first time shes seen the man peep spoog her home. About 60 dogs rescued from mississippi could eventually find new homes in pennsylvania. The Humane Society says the dogs were living outside without clean water, food or shelter. Most are now in the d. C. Area. The Humane Society says theyll try to look for adoptive homes in northern virginia, western maryland, and harrisburg, pennsylvania. The Humane Society sent us this video of how the dogs looked when they were found. Some of the animals were extremely underweight. They have untreated medical conditions including broken limbs and open wounds. Overseas, american fighter jets and drones have launched more than a dozen air strikes in iraq in the past 24 hours. This comes despite a threat by isis militants to kill a second american journalist if those strikes continue. Yesterday isis released a video showing the beheading of u. S. Journalist james foley. We had flood warnings in State College but it has really weakened as it has moved to the east. There are other areas back to the west in ohio so, thats not the only threat, but for the short term it is the more significant threat and futurecasts do not show it staying intact as it moves to the east through our area. So, yeah, we have a chance of some showers coming up this evening, but were not talking about anything as heavy as they got in State College. And then tomorrow more widespread showers, especially during the afternoon, and then as we get into friday we have an east wind along with an upper air disturbance, so theres going to be rain in a lot of the area on friday and its going to be cool at the shore, showers and storms tomorrow. A cool, cloudy day on friday with chance of some rain. But drying out on saturday. Sunday looks dry. But, again, temperatures kind of cool for this time of the year. Rained for a couple hours, quite a bit, quite heavy at times. This is why we brought storm force 10 out here. This is our brandnew mobile weather center. Of course with all the instruments on top we can measure realtime weather, 77 degrees right now. The humidity is at 82 , the winds fairly light in from the westsouthwest. And its all coming from the top of the weather vehicle. So storm force 10 really is a nice mobile weather center. We can see from where the rain is across the area. What is coming our way i think is going to be weakening over the next several hours. Its dry across much of our area now as it has been. This band of rain, thunderstorms with it, flooding at State College, but this is already weakening and it is expected to continue to weaken. Whats behind it, a few showers western pennsylvania, eastern ohio so, yeah, as shee shih that mentioned there could be a shower or two at that game. But nothing too substantial. You can see for the futurecast, for the rest of the night, not much going on here. So those showers really weaken, but tomorrow we get an increase, much more moisture around tomorrow, more humid, wind coming in off the ocean, and there will be showers around, maybe a thunderstorm. Then on friday, the east wind picks up and we get more rain across the area.
