We were at the Convention Center as the mummers made preps right up to the last minute to get ready for their new years parade. Weve been here all day, just finetuning things lastminute changes, adding some stuff, putting stuff away. We have a developing story in south philadelphia where police are telling us they have a house surrounded with a man barricaded inside. Heres skyforce 10 over the scene just a few minutes ago at st. Albans and 24th street. Officers tried to serve a warrant but the suspect got away and eventually ran into the house. No word on whether anyone elsed in the house with the suspect. New at 11 00 tonight, a close call in camden after a group of Metro Police Officers rescued a mother and two children from a house fire. Nbc 10 at eighth and atlantic avenues. The officers ran into the burning home. They managed to get mom and the kids through a window safely on to the roof of the house. Officer sean mcmann describes what happened next. A couple of assisting officers were able to help them down off the roof and bring them over to the ems. Medics checked the family and one of the officers for smoke inhalation. In north philadelphia another daring fire rescue this new years eve. A group of neighbors rushed into a burning home here on west butler street to save a woman trapped inside. He heard the woman screaming for help so he and the others broke out windows. Once the smoke cleared they went inside. Screaming anybody in here . We heard her screaming, but we dont know whether it was coming from upstairs or down stairs. Once we seen a sill o waet of her in the back, we just ran in and we got her out. Firefighters got there minutes later. Thankfully no one was hurt here either. New cell phone video from a deadly traffic stop in cumberland county. The witness who took it says it shows Police Killing jeremy reed in bridgeton. Authorities say two officers killed reed after pulling over a car he was in last night. The driver is in custody. And investigators say a gun has been recovered. The two officers are on administrative leave pending the investigation. The nbc 10 investigators have new information tonight about this airport emergency at philly international that happened nine months ago including information that the pilots should not have been in control of the plane. The new government report details the crash landing of u. S. Airways flight 1702 back in march. It reveals the captain had taken a sedative and a narcotic under Doctors Orders following a stress test. He was not supposed to fly for 60 hours but got in the cockpit after only 45 hours. These drugs have the ability to impair ones attention. Tragically he was illegal to fly because of the medication. The report goes on to state the captain and first officer failed to enter necessary data into the planes computer. Theres also information the pilot ignored the planes Warning Signals prior to takeoff. Two of the 149 passengers on board had minor injuries. U. S. Air declined to comment saying theyre waiting for the government to finish its investigation. Rough conditions are hampering Recovery Efforts at the site of the airasia crash near indonesia.
